My friend's African grey imitates the doorbell, knocking and the kitchen timer absolutely perfectly - she sends them running all over the house, and then she LAUGHS at them when they do. (I wonder if the laughing is a learned response - i.e. the people laugh when this happens, but it certain seems like it is on purpose!)

Not sure who's more talented here. My Dad raised Blue Front Amazons and the bird had a 450 word vocabulary. Based on our familys pet shop experience I'd say the trainers are extreemly talented also to get this kind of trained behavior out of their animals. The Birds only have to do "cause and effect" but the trainers have to lay this out and then teach it? Thousands of hours of work is involved here- I'm impressed, professionally
