  • but you're not showing how to pick it. I see the chords but not how to pick it

  • i like how you spelled lynyrd skynyrd right haha

  • where did u get th chords? i cant find them on ultimate guitar

  • hey bro what tuning are u in?

  • @MVLINEMAN he should be in standard

  • @mustkillbarney121 the song should be a halfstep down, so

  • Jon your gorgeous, i dont mind learning when im watching ;) lol

  • I love the way you play!! People expect so much from a turorial. I learned this song in about 15 minutes just by this video and figuring out some parts on how to play by myself (sometimes the way you explain is hard to understand)- but works just fine <3

    Thank You for this Song!

  • i love lynyrd skynyrd..... but i like the way the shinedown version sounds.... i like the rhythm bertter

  • You should play the baseline in E and A String, so you are able to slide a bit. Sounds way cooler ...

  • ur tutorial kinda sucks

  • hey good lesson man, but i was just confused, cuz theres this certain sound that im lookin for but when you teach it, i didnt catch where it makes that sound, i cant explain it but if you listen at 41 sec to 46 seconds, the transition from c to g sound different than the transition from c to g chord that you do at 52 sec to 55, it sounds like there some kind of walk down or something? idk,

  • hahaha you said "g-string"!

  • @megandstefmoo its a johnson

  • great lesson man. sounds great and easy to understand.

    thank you

  • Im new so you need to show both hands, but other than that it was great

  • he did show both hands dumbass

  • great job...been lookn for a lesson with the bass runs and this was perfect. love how you used them with the chords. would love a solo lesson from ya! keep up the great work man!

  • for some odd reason the tabs i have for it in guitar world magizine seem to be a lot different dont know why but this way is a lot easier thanks man

  • i had no problem great lesson id say its meant for a lil bit more advanced people or at least his teaching ability 5/5

  • great jooob ! man i now actualy now how to play it... because you just make it so damn simpleee! thanx man!

  • good job man, thanks

  • good video i leaned the cord riffs in NO TIME. you dont have to show both hands the pattern is easy if you play along and listen

  • CANNOT UNDERSTAND

    going to a diffrent tutorial.

good tutorial for smarter ppls and im really not one who understands things that well

    :)

  • is it just me or what? when i listen to the original song the tune is different then standard or what?

  • i think it would be better if u also used a bass guitar to show the bass part its already impossible enough to find a bass lesson on here but now ur showing it with guitar? espically 4 n00b players like myself

  • A bass guitar is really just a standard guitar minus the 2 bottom strings. While the tone is alot deeper on a bass, the strings from top to bottom are E,A,D,G, just as on a standard guitar, it's E,A,D,G,B,E. Just imagine what he's playing as a bass guitar.

  • both hands

  • thats kinda not how you play the rhythm, right chords but not the right pattern

  • Yeah definitely show both hands because no one can tell what you're talking about especially if you're picking an open string and you're not showing it.

    Good vid otherwise. Thank You

  • great lesson. but a lil pointer, commin from a guy who also gives lessons. show your strum pattern. dnt just say it. i had to figure out the strummin on my own. but great job showing finger formation. 3.5/5

  • I feel that anyone who is going to post an instructional video on how to play guitar or more specifically a song played on guitar...show both hands...

  • not saying u dont play the song the rite way but your teaching it the wrong way i mean what your saying doesnt even match up to what your playing ... maybe u should rehearse some more or think before you talk

  • @geetaRzero23 Do you mean the RIGHT way?

  • Comment removed

  • @geetaRzero23 This song is in Ab minor. He would need a capo on the 4th fret and a bass part to accompaniment with him to cover the F# on the second fret that's not possible when you have a capo. It can't be played all at once unless you were to play it at A minor which is what he is doing. Just shows that the guitarists were pretty clever. Took me awhile to figure this out. I won't give you a hard time though. When i got the chords and tried to play with the song I had the same reaction.

  • @geetaRzero23 Or you could tune it a half down, but it's a pain getting it back in tune imo.

  • why dont you charge for this?

  • My mistake, they tuned their guitars a half step lower and used the same chords. Sorry. Great video!

  • Great lesson, very helpful. However, are you in a different key than the original?

  • im not saying this song is complicated and i thank you for posting this but this is more complicated than voting for a fucking senator

  • i'm really confused

  • Omg. Thank you so much.

My friend know's how to play this and he wouldn't teach me.

Your video was really great! Thanks a lot!!!

=] Now I can rub it in his face that I know how to play it, too!

  • Great lesson thx you very much !!!! 5*

  • i find it to be easier if when your playing the c to g you just move your middle and ring finger you can leave your pointer finger in the same place the whole time

  • hey dude im stupid and ill just started playing like a cupple of moths ago so idk what you mean "a walk down onC" im stupid i dont know some one help plz!!

  • to walk down to a chord is to use one or more single notes to walk or move more "musicailly" into a chord

  • u can also use hammer on's and pull offs to get the same feel.

  • a walk down on c

    he means he went

    open on the c string

then put his finger on the second fret

    and then on the thrid

    which is a walk down=)

  • you mean the a string

  • hey dude nice vid, but can u please give me the tab it'd be much apreciated and ill suscribe 2 u

    thx

  • great job man! would love to see a tutorial on "it ain't easy being me" by chris knight-

  • this is a guitar lesson why are people talking about mexican's. well you know who i hate american because of the stupid comments like that. im an american.

  • not the bass part dude

  • great lesson, please keep it up!

  • Hey this is a great instructional video but is there any chance you could send me the tabs for both guitar parts. It's a pain tryin to tab it up according to the video. Thanks, it'd be much appreciated.

  • picking pattern please

  • thanks all i needed was the bass part

  • OMG this is not a cowboy song

  • all depends on what you call a cowboy song. it's definately country.

  • if a electrick guitar players say that they hate the texas people they are insulting the people that invented the electrick guitar

  • no thats pretty stupid to say... say i hated mexicans im not insulting the people who made the taco im just mad at them crossing the border illegally... you compared a generalization with something very narrow

  • no you're being stupid... because texans DID invent the electric guitar, and if you say "i hate texans" you're insulting texans, who invented the electric guitar. and yes, you WOULD be insulting the people who made the taco. you would hate mexicans. Who invented the taco? Mexicans. You would have to say "i'm not insulting mexicans BECAUSE they made the taco."

  • well no thats like saying you hate all microsoft when in reality you only hate bill gates... you are comparing a whole group of people with just a few people i.e. texans>people who made electric guitar

  • you're just being a moron, you know that? You do realize you're making no sense. I quote "I'm not insulting the people that made the taco". Because that references your previous statement "...i [hate] mexicans..." you acknowledge the fact that the Mexicans (note the "S") invented the taco. This would in turn imply that you understand that the Texans invented the electric guitar, yet you contradict yourself several times. It's a matter of logic and grammar.

  • no think about about a venn diagram if you know what that is on the left would be texans on the right would be the makers of the electric guitar they would be in the middle as well because they are both... you can hate just the left side without hating both

  • look, I see your point, and I hate hating (sorta paradoxical but you get my point). And I'm just pointing out to you, that what you said earlier technically was wrong. that, however, does. No stop the hate.

  • COWBOYS ARE FUCKING GAY!!!!!!!!!!

  • i loved Shinedown's cover of this too! Im a little confused with the picking on the G string...i'll try to figure it out..

  • Great video, tons of help.

  • awesome instructional man, kept it simple

one of my favorite songs ever and now I can play it!
