obama deception you said you wouldn't go that far. By what facts to you base that comment on? everything alex puts out there he can prove, no gray areas here.
@bluesmann8 I'm basing on the fact that virtually all our politicians are OWNED. Obama isn't the exception - he is simply another figure head. And no, Alex cannot prove everything. Years ago he talked about UN helicopters swooping down on the US population. More than likely, it's gonna be some private mercenary force, like Blackwater, recently renamed to XE, which will attempt to do it. That's not to say, that the UN is NOT corrupt, because it is. There are many, many gray areas.
@55ella2007k its the gray area's that's being uncovered as we speak. have you seem Arron Russo film freedom to fascism. Thats a good place to start. 1913 was a very bad year.
its a crime family, yup. gambini or soprano. take your pick. it doesnt matter who you vote for, the core agenda stays the same. only solution i c is third party/independents becoming more recognized, but that is a dream as the media is so controled by a few elite. cant see any way outta this except revolution-ish change...sigh.
The jews told Bush to attack Iraq,so he did it.Obama will do what the jews tell him to do.The congress will do what AIPAC (the jews ) tell them what to do.People in other countries know this but this truth is hidden from Americans because the media is controled by you guess it the jews.
Not for me ,I live in a semi- wealthy heavenly bliss.I just want to keep our wonderful govt. from putting me out of biz. and in the poor house,LOL my ice biz. uses a lot of eletrical power. If cap and trade passes I would have to raise the price for a bag of ice so high sales will slump. Then I will have to lay off some of my 22 emps.
So what! I am sure those wetbacks will find new work landscaping or doing "cemento" Made in America is a euphemism for made by illegal aliens who refuse to assimilate and use parts imported from third world countries--like the bags your ice goes into. I bet you would use water from china if you could get your hands on it and electricity from Venezuela
It is not higher up elites running the show it is a systemic problem of democracy and the power of government over powering the constitution, the rule of law, and the Republic. Both parties are using fear to manipulate the public in into giving them more power, taking power, freedom, and wealth from us.
United States interrogators killed nearly four dozen detainees during or after their interrogations, according a report published by a human rights researcher based on a Human Rights First report and followup investigations.
In all, 98 detainees have died while in US hands. Thirty-four homicides have been identified, with at least eight detainees — and as many as 12 — having been tortured
I'm tired of hearing people talking about give Obama time. We keep saying that and 7 years from now we'll be still saying, "Give him time, soon he's going to start doing right...."
That is true but paying the interest hardly diminishes the argument of complicity through compliance.
We should add the complicity inherent in the knowledge that participating in voting, and thereby agreeing to accept the result, makes you complicit in the result of the voting process. Given a 50/50 chance of electing a torturer, it is better to refuse to agree to accept the result rendered by the toss of a coin or to give tacit approval to the result by calling and losing.
Not paying taxes, accomplishes absolutely nothing except tio give the gov the excuse to make an example out of you. So you become a government tool, complicit in their actions, and willingly, since you chose the course..
I understand what you are driving at, but the logic isn't clear enough to state a solid case either way.
If they passed a law making voting a legal obligation, would you refuse to vote?
Or would you say... Not voting accomplishes absolutely nothing except tio give the gov the excuse to make an example out of you. So you become a government tool, complicit in their actions, and willingly, since you chose the course..
Choosing between corporate tools, is already turning the vote into a sham.
the people in charge don't care about you, don't love you, don't give a crap about you. they won't make voting mandatory. They don't need to.
As the situtation worsens, would you be willing to be kidnapped, tortured, shot in the head and dumped in the streets to make your point? So we can all see whta happens when you oppose the government?
Or would you say... Not wearing a star accomplishes absolutely nothing except tio give the gov the excuse to make an example out of you. So you become a government tool, complicit in their actions, and willingly, since you chose the course..
"It's coming to that. Are you up for it?" I am up for Agorism (or at the least paying in cash) and civil disobedience can be fun.
takes alot of money for fundemental change and america dont have too much of that at the moment. obama has been in office for just over 100 days or so now with a big stuff up to fix. even if he fails it wont be his fault greed is a problem for all people and there was not even a chicken wing left on the plate for obama. looks like the first lady will have to grow a bigger vegetable garden than first planned
A good example here how you voted for obama out of fear of having McCain and Palin.
They used bush's neocon(Zionist) to do some dirty work and them used their media to vilify Bush so that the masses would crave a new leader, and then they presented their new guy Obama who talked about change etc.. and everybody felt for it. They're in complete control.
Well Miss Ella, it was only a matter of time. I respect you for the fact that you had/have the courage to back any of these corrupt bastards. Things could be different if the participants chose to do so.
So many people are talking about "Don't forge the good!" Most people aren't forgetting the good, but it is so monumentally off blance from the path we are headed, its sad.
Obama is a politician. As a politician all we can expect is despotism. A politician will not bring about change, that is the job of the people. We must demand it.
We are being played as suckers by both parties and we all need to quit worring about being civil with the 'establishment' -when it is the 'establishment' that is sending our young kids off to fight their filthy fascist wars.
We should see these 'establishment types' as the 'real traitors'-the 'real fascist'-and disrupt their meetings like those Doctors and Nurses did!
We are dealing with real criminals at this point, -now Obama is fascist traitor!
On April 16, President Obama said he would not prosecute CIA agents who engaged in torture, because George Bush's lawyers told them it was "legal." President Obama also said Attorney General Eric Holder would use taxpayer dollars to defend torturers against lawsuits by torture victims, and to pay all judgments if they lost.
Elaine43-- If everything is rosy and working to benefit the status quo, then what real change would our children see? What encourages people to be more self-responsible and express their innate moral purpose, when group identification, political complacency, and economic prosperity has lead to selfishness, feelings of entitlement, and more apathy?
People resist change, so what can be done to motivate people to improve their world?
Anyone who thought Owebama was going to CHANGE anything except to usher in more of the NWO crap (on the side of socialism) and selected him as President was complicit in the voting booth.
Anyone choosing lesser of two evils has still chosen evil.
Vehemence toward 'party-line' thinking is fool-hardy. The CONSTITUTION has to be the objective and both parties must obey their oaths. If Ron Paul or Chuck Baldwin were to present the opportunity again in 2012 I would HOPE you would choose correctly.
You seem to be getting the hang of this place. The powers that be are under a lot of pressure and don't want to rachet it higher. Try not to be angry because that is the objective of the whole illusion. Anger is just a form of fear. If you can't control your negative emotions, then you are part of the problem. If Obama was not compliant to his bosses, he would never have been given the job. This situation is just typical for US politics. Try not to get bogged down in the silly details. Smile.
This is what I know our judges don't understand the laws, I think they just really don't know, even after in several court houses I have had to explain it to them. The judges are intelligence, but they don't know, so that tells me the congress members don't know, therefore it's important for people to write them letters and continue to make video's I believe it is the answer. It's a lot of work, and expensive but I go and go to court to try and smooth the bugs out, so this corruption stops.
b. A poem to reflect on. Your Greatness I stand silently and witness The awesome power of your greatness; Spin it well... spinmeister For I will never forget what I see; In time I will forgive thee; Tonight I will pray for your soul; Tomorrow God's love will make me whole ~~cc
Psychopaths know well: the ambivalent crowd will stand silently and watch abuse, character assassination, ridicule, beatings(vicariously maybe?)-- and then assume/judge that it is the victim's fault. What to do with apathy, when a little personal guilt paralyses the masses?
Are you thinking things would have been better had McCain/Palin won? Or are you saying it would have been better to let the Republicans deal with the financial shit storm, the "end" of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and have that party unable to resolve or solve anything rather than have the Dems and Obama in office during this huge mess - which will undoubtedly ensure a Republican victory in 2012?
Sorry for my poorly constructed, barely legible, run-on comment.
Do you think things would NOT have come to a head had the dems not been in office? Do you think things are being orchestrated to specifically ensure that Obama fails?
I have no idea why Pres. Obama is failing to embrace or trust his mandate. HE must be the focal point of change. HE must make us be better than we have been in the past - and better than our "enemies." HE must change the culture both in government and citizenry - and he is not doing it... Why?!?!! We can take it - demand more from us - hold people accountable - be the President we need you to be!
Elaina: "Do you think things are being orchestrated to specifically ensure that Obama fails? " - No, it's even worse: I believe, that Obama was specifically chosen by the elites + he made a deal with them beforehand. This goes WAY beyond party politics as usual + assures the continuation of a broken system, no matter WHO wins the next election.
Do you have any actual EVIDENCE to this? If you do, I'd LOVE to see it. Because something like that being tried to have covered up would go the same way as Watergate. That proved conclusively that even the smallest time conspiracies are IMPOSSIBLE to keep hidden in Washington.
Elaina: no, I do not think that things would have been better with McCain/Palin in office. That's why I reluctantly voted for Obama in the end, even though I knew, ALL the changes he talked about, would never be fulfilled. But, now it turns out, that on virtually every issue of importance, Obama is doing the exact OPPOSITE of what he campaigned on.
What do you think of this: the hubby and I were talking last night about Obama's decision to fight the Court demanding the release of these photos - He thought that maybe Obama was just playing a bit of a game - that he wants someone else to insist that they be made public so that he can say he tried to "protect our troops." I hope that is not the case - I hope he has the courage to stand behind his convictions and that he will reverse his reversal.
And then put us in even more danger than we are already in. What happened was he finally came to his senses (partially anyway), and realized that protecting our citizens is sometimes a messy business, and if he doesn't want another 9/11 SQUARELY on his shoulders, he better get with the program a little bit and acknowledge reality. It still might be too little too late, but it's a start anyway.
We have acknowledged reality, and anyone who did anything that wasn't specifically for the purpose of getting information necessary to save lives (which really mostly applies to the Abu Ghraib business) has already been brought to justice. What I recommend is that Obama take the advice of his CIA and military advisors, and if they tell him that the release of these memos and photos put us in greater danger, HE SHOULD LISTEN TO THEM AND PUT THE KABOSH ON THIS!!!!!!
you should show some emotion!!! it's ok to be a little pissed sometimes :)
you had to know that obama was going to try to hide those prisoners. there probably isn't hardly any prisoners we took that are actual terrorists. he will never let the people find that out in real courts. they are probably just innocent people being jailed for no reason other than that they are an excuse to keep fighting.
i try to talk to politicians and reporters about it and they just bullshit me.
Like many American presidents, Mr. Obama has a gun to his head. Mr. Bush was shown what can happen if you don't play ball with the Big Leaguers. World domination at the expense of morality and ethics-- truly the dream of those with dark imaginations.
Kennedy had the audacity to think he could make executive decisions; Obama has history to sway his swagger.
His actions have thus far been decided by handshakes, smiles and bank deposits; agreements sealed with a toast. There's no gun to his head. There doesn't have to be. He's their's. That said, if he doesn't come through for them, the powers that be will back somebody else in four years. If he outright betrays them, you're right, he'll be dead.
Well said Ella! Let us throw morality back at Obama and make a stand. Nuremberg is exactly what needs to be thrown at The FEDeral Government AND Israel.
This is why I voted for Ralph Nader. McCain would not have had the public support to do what Obama has the power to do, as far as driving our country towards totalitarianism.
the whole torture script is to demonize the usa now. the world is seeing all of this and looking at us with disgust. the problem with this is that the marxist media could have done something about this back in 2004 and they stood down intentionally.
now when russian and chinese troops invade our country the world will cheer. obama is just as bad as bush.. but this is all scripted.. including the timing. this is all about timing. you got hoodwinked once.. (probably more) we have to wake up.
@DennyMclain2008: the 'Marxist' media??? You've got to be joking! Have you even read Marx or understand anything about Marxism, other than the talking points you mention? It wouldn't hurt to actually do some research on your own, especially if you want to critique something which you know nothing about. No offense intended! Turn off the tv and do some reading :)
i turned off the TV awhile back. and i have spent thousands of hours researching. so save ur preaching. im not the idiot that got hoodwinked by obama. in fact i was one of the people trying to warn others about how bad this guy was.
we are at great risk right now.. and you are sitll clueless .. you will never get it. seriously, stop being a follower and go research how the bolsheviks ruined russia and killed 40 to 60 million Christians.
There are still people who say "give him time" (referring to Obama) saying that he's only been in office for short time need to get a clue. Every opportunity that he has had to deliver during this time frame he has failed to deliver. That says it all.
The knife was clean when you handed it over. (You might choose to call yourself duped, or foolish maybe. I.e. "I should have known better.") Question is: What to do now?
I too have been manipulated by the so called "2 party" system, voting 4 Bush to be anti-gore, then voting Obama because 8 years was enough of the bush. I have see tee-shirts saying regime change, thats what it's become. In my hindsight Ron Paul should've got my vote, and it's time for Americans to move away from the stale old "2 party" system, let's give 3 or more a chance, maybe next time!
being middle of the road, does not necessarily mean complacency. it's sad we continue to polarize to the for and against camps, to the with us or against mentality. i have no hope for this nation when it the idea is, "you're either with us or against us" you seem to be mad at not just the politicans, but also those that don't completely share your view . the voices out there are Alex Jones, and Fox news. polarization is bad. be well, miss ella. peace
We are indeed on the road to dictatorship. I came to the firm conclusion last year that the right wing and left are just two wings on the same bird. The left & right prop each other up so that the 'powers that (really) be' can do what they want while hiding behind the puppets. We've been decieved in my opinion. This has been going on for many, many years. The idea is to divide and conquer. Conquering is just around the corner. Next comes the NWO under the guise of globalization.
The Japanese were prosecuted in WWII for waterboarding. Should we apologize and make reparations to those prosecuted and their families? What we are seeing is simply concrete evidence that the government we see is not the same one behind closed doors. I want to throw up every time I hear a republican talk about fiscal responsibility. They are once again herding the cattle to different sides of the isle for the next election. It is hard to believe what we are seeing.
totally agree w/you and feel your frustration. Ive been speaking out about this for nearly 2 years and am just so frustrated w/the 2 party fraud...no one is listening - both parties are shams and just keep perpetuating the division and sidelining the real issues. Obama, even if he wanted to, could not change a thing, as he is the new puppet. I will post a vid as a response here that is a bit outdated but just goes to show that theyre all on the same team, pushing the same elitist agenda.
People often point at the hypocrisy with certain politicians or political parties as seen through a partisan viewpoint. What they may not realize is that hypocrisy itself is a just viewable symptom of the larger disease that the checks and balances within our government are no longer in operation. If one party commits the crimes and the other party covers them up, then there is no distinction between them in common purpose. Excellent video Ella, I am complicit too. 5 stars and fav'd.
You're about being "cautious" about not presuming that the Republican party can't get back into power. In Canada, our Conservative (or, actually now Progressive-Conservative Party) always screw everything up when they get back into power, and you presume that there's no way that they ever will. Give it a decade, and they do.
My question then is Mr O bought and paid for? Is it being overwhelmed with Global problesm? Is it incompetancy? Is it that power corrupts? Is it just he's a good salesman with a defective product? He
It is like kicking a soccer ball down the field... little to the left, then little to the right but at the end it was a straight line.
Government is a waste now and all governments will act according because the precedent is now set. A blueprint will follow all democracies around the world.
The only real obstacle to a global plutocracy is the internet and information sharing. We need to make use of it.
A citizen is never so disenfranchised than to have their vote count. ***** fav
I thnik prople are not speaking out because deep down Americans have accepted that to speak out is to mysteriously disappear or have an unfortunate accident. Essentially they are scared, and would rather remain quiet and accept their fate.
Governments never give up a power once it is gained. The only way to fix it is to wipe the slate clean and start over. There are a multitude of people at the top who should be swinging at the end of a rope. Not everyone has to fight but those that don't better be prepared to provide help to those who do.
you don't have blood on your hands, their are too many Americans who feel the same way, we don't know what to do, the tyrants are out of control, but you are making a big difference, and it is working, because they want to shut down the internet. Sure if we had more Gladitors like you things would change for the better, but we are facing demontic evilness, that is brutal, yet some how I think you and others will prevent ww3, or more abuses from taken place.
Throw every damn one of them in jail, those that authorize torture=everyone in congress, those who did it, just like the Nazi's and the police are out of control. Rothchild Dynasty controls the world and all cowards going along with it, those not standing up to injustices. Soon ww3, that is what they want their NWO, Militia is needed before it's too late, another Tea party in on the way, more momentum of people to stand up to the evilness.
Obama was never, ever, going to represent our interests. It is not a shock, it is not a surprise. He is the smiling face of the capitalist class, just like Bill Clinton before him. In four years, we'll be able to vote for another member of the wealthy elite who can further explain to us why workers should be honored to receive the singular pleasure is exploitation by the rich. TruthDig's Chris Hedges has offered the most consistently brilliant analysis of Obama. May 3: "His administration has
spent, lent or guaranteed $12.8 trillion in taxpayer dollars to Wall Street and insolvent banks ... a tactic that ... will leave us broke in a time of profound crisis. Brand Obama has allocated nearly $1 trillion in defense-related spending and the continuation of our doomed imperial projects in Iraq, where military planners now estimate that 70,000 troops will remain for the next 15 to 20 years. Brand Obama has expanded the war in Afghanistan, including the use of drones sent on cross-border
bombing runs into Pakistan that have doubled the number of civilians killed over the past 3 months. Brand Obama has refused to ease restrictions so workers can organize and will not consider single-payer, not-for-profit health care for all Americans. And Brand Obama will not prosecute the Bush administration for war crimes, including the use of torture, and has refused to dismantle Bushs secrecy laws or restore habeas corpus."
I think Obama represents a slight improvement over Bush and Co., but the urgency of the times is greater. Obama's moves seem timid so far - tinkering rather than change. He's not even trying to use his mandate for anything but bankers, which I think will turn out to be a very poor choice.
Is anyone surprised at what Barry O has done? Has anyone from the Bush administration been held accountable for anything? Only the guy that got citizens running screaming through the streets of new york had to step down. Otherwise, you can dodge taxes, bomb civilians, and steal trillions with impunity. Yeah, change you can count on.
Ella said, "If this isn't the time to speak out, I don't know what is."
But Ella, people ARE speaking out! There is more discussion of this than ever! This story has dominated the national dialogue for several WEEKS!
And why? Because Obama turned it into the centerpiece of our national discourse by ending torture, attempting to close Guantanmo, by releasing memos, and by nominating Dawn Johnsen to the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You talk about the complicity of German citizens with the Holocaust.
Question: What would have been a higher priority in 1938 -- preventing the holocaust, or prosecuting Nazis? Both would be ideal, but what if you had to pick one or the other?
Obama has stopped the torture. Give him some credit for that. Now we hope we can find justice for the criminals.
But if Obama does not tread carefully, Palin will be president and torture will resume.
Z200a: re: "Question: What would have been a higher priority in 1938 -- preventing the holocaust, or prosecuting Nazis? Both would be ideal, but what if you had to pick one or the other?" This question doesn't apply to 1938 Germany, because by then most Germans supported the Nazis, and they were in power, thus the question of prosecutions was not even on the table to start with. Noone wanted them prosecuted, because the crimes were just beginning and people chose to turn a blind eye.
No, they weren't. Do some research. You will find Obama did not release the memos in response to a court order.
Even if there had been a court order, Obama could have delayed and appealed for years, and if he lost on appeal, he could have done like Bush and destroyed them before they reached daylight. Or he could have heavily redacted key parts. Obama released them almost 100% free of redaction.
There was a federal court order. Obama was to comply or issue to the court a reason they should not be made public. Obama decided to comply with the order over the objections of the cia, but the move was favored by the doj and supported by obama.
Z200a: Well, it's great that people are speaking out, but unless Obama + a Democratic Congress change the ACTUAL policies, it is merely TALK. The Patriot Act is still in effect, Rendition is still in effect, FISA laws are still in effect (with Obama's approval), and both parties are implicated in ALL of this. I am just not as hopeful as you are, but I respect your opinion.
I share your outrage and your moral conviction, but not your conclusion, which is essentially to dynamite the bridge and throw us into a much worse condition.
Do you know what Martin Luther King meant when he said the arc of the moral universe is long, but that it bends towards justice?
We can't remake the world in 4 months. Susan B. Anthony worked her entire life to win the right to vote for women, and even at the age of 86, when she died, the dream was not realized.
African Americans spent 250 years as slaves on this continent. 12 generations born, lived, and died in chains. And after those 250 years, they spent the next 100 under Jim Crow.
But look back over the centuries. There HAS been a steady march of progress.
The election of Obama counts as one small step in the right direction. It's not enough to redeem all the sins of the past or present, but we have to chip away with a steady, unrelenting determination..
Here's what I am afraid you don't appreciate, Ella: You can only do what you can do.
Haven't you ever been in a bad situation and you manage it in such a way that allows you to at least do some good?
It's all about POLITICAL POWER. Used unwisely, the Democrats will be turned out of office and we will be far worse off than we are today.
Democrats need to weild their power cautiously because Priority One is to never let it return to the hands of the fascist right. We cannot afford that.
Obama is playing the long game. And everything we have ever seen from him indicates that he knows what he is doing and that the long game has been the wise course. How many times in the past 2 years have hotheads demanded he act impulsively and immediately only to later discover that Obama's patient, deliberate approach has succeeded beyond our wildest dreams?
Ask yourself, Ella: Is it progress, or not, that we have been having this national debate on torture for the last several weeks?
* Is it progress, or not, that we have been having this national debate on torture for the last several weeks? *
Obama has unleashed this debate, by his deliberate action of releasing memos that he knew would spark the very debate that is now raging across this land.
Obama has set in motion forces that will ultimately ensure that some kind of justice is realized.
But he is doing it in a prudent and wise way that minimizes the politcal damage to himself.
Z200a: thank your for your thoughtful comments, I appreciate it. I didn't give any thumbs down on here, btw. - I realize, of course, that during the long course of history, it is always 2 steps backward + then 1 step forward. I am not at all convinced that Obama will do the right thing. And remember, MLK spoke out vehemently against the Vietnam war, even though Kennedy started the escalation. MLK did NOT tow the party line on this one. Without effective grass-roots movements nothing will change.
Good to see you awake to the fact that our political system is a sham. Two sides to the same coin. The puppet masters do not change. The goal remaines the same.
Obama is a puppet as was Bush, etc.etc.etc.
Follow the money..... And see the truth of it all.
I'm with you, Ella. It's not about giving more time when someone does bails out, hires former AIGers, keeps Robert Gates, keeps us in Iraq, etc. In this short period of time, he's proven that things will remain the same. Dems and the GOP are both adjuncts of the globalist agenda.
I "threw my vote away" voting third party. I could not vote for a candidate that would continue the same policy towards Israel that has a 3rd of the people on the planet angry at us and rightly so.
There is no doubt that these photos would be disturbing. The day we are no longer upset by such repugnant acts would be a sad one. But, the outrage related to these photos shouldnt be about their release. It should be about the horrific crimes that they depict. And, we must demand accountability for the widespread abuse they document.
It's not just in the US but across the world. Here in the UK we've got the same problem of governments seemingly for the people, but screwing them over every chance they get. To be honest George Orwell had it spot on in 1984 that the Elite's aim is to disenfranchise the middle class, the only class viewed as a threat to the Elite, and keep the poor so poor that they haven't got time to be educated and organised. This has become class warfare on a global scale, but with it's heart in the US.
I would LOVE to see you as the replacement for Souter. You are rational & keep yourself (& your base) up to date w/ current events & even historical ones at times.
Supreme Court Justices need not be lawyers, nor have served time as judges.
What we need are THINKERS who are ready to cast off ALL parties & render WISE counsel.
a major mistake indeed. i deeply REGRET my choice in voting for Obama. I wish i would have voted 3rd party, even tho it wouldnt have counted. this is such a fantastic, heartfelt, heartwrenching vlog Ella. THANK YOU! anyone staying loyal to their "party" and not holding Obamas ass to the fire...i have no words for. Its as bad as the Bush supporters IMO. BOTH partys ARE together. If noone can see that yet, its time to open your eyes. Obama/Bush=same. same.same. just diff sheeps clothing.
don't wanna be mean, but I told you ladies before the whole thing, there was no way Mcshitstain would win, and that you should have voted conscientiously.
I feel sad you have to feel this way, that's why I told you then, that's why I'll do it in 2010, 2012, 2014...
I know a few people who fell for bush in 2000, when he was "against nation-building", the majority party is always pro-war/government-expansion. I always wondered what Gore/Liebermann would've been like, now we get to find out...
obama deception you said you wouldn't go that far. By what facts to you base that comment on? everything alex puts out there he can prove, no gray areas here.

You are not complicit for the actions of another, so long as you oppose those actions.
Weaseldog2001 2 years ago
What about if you support the system that commits those crimes and continue that support in full knowledge that those crimes are being committed?
.... Like by paying you taxes.
stratvic 2 years ago
You mean if you pay taxes freely and not under the coercive thumb of the collectors?
Your taxes don't even pay the interest on the money the government owes anymore. They government essentially prints money to fund it's activities now.
Weaseldog2001 2 years ago 2
That is true but paying the interest hardly diminishes the argument of complicity through compliance.
We should add the complicity inherent in the knowledge that participating in voting, and thereby agreeing to accept the result, makes you complicit in the result of the voting process. Given a 50/50 chance of electing a torturer, it is better to refuse to agree to accept the result rendered by the toss of a coin or to give tacit approval to the result by calling and losing.
stratvic 2 years ago
Not paying taxes, accomplishes absolutely nothing except tio give the gov the excuse to make an example out of you. So you become a government tool, complicit in their actions, and willingly, since you chose the course..
I understand what you are driving at, but the logic isn't clear enough to state a solid case either way.
On voting, I think you're on firmer ground.
Weaseldog2001 2 years ago
If they passed a law making voting a legal obligation, would you refuse to vote?

How does it matter?
Choosing between corporate tools, is already turning the vote into a sham.
the people in charge don't care about you, don't love you, don't give a crap about you. they won't make voting mandatory. They don't need to.
As the situtation worsens, would you be willing to be kidnapped, tortured, shot in the head and dumped in the streets to make your point? So we can all see whta happens when you oppose the government?
It's coming to that. Are you up for it?

They used bush's neocon(Zionist) to do some dirty work and them used their media to vilify Bush so that the masses would crave a new leader, and then they presented their new guy Obama who talked about change etc.. and everybody felt for it. They're in complete control.

Elaina43 2 years ago
Do you think things would NOT have come to a head had the dems not been in office? Do you think things are being orchestrated to specifically ensure that Obama fails?
Elaina43 2 years ago
I have no idea why Pres. Obama is failing to embrace or trust his mandate. HE must be the focal point of change. HE must make us be better than we have been in the past - and better than our "enemies." HE must change the culture both in government and citizenry - and he is not doing it... Why?!?!! We can take it - demand more from us - hold people accountable - be the President we need you to be!
Elaina43 2 years ago

ADEAL416 2 years ago
Elaina: no, I do not think that things would have been better with McCain/Palin in office. That's why I reluctantly voted for Obama in the end, even though I knew, ALL the changes he talked about, would never be fulfilled. But, now it turns out, that on virtually every issue of importance, Obama is doing the exact OPPOSITE of what he campaigned on.
55ella2007k 2 years ago
What do you think of this: the hubby and I were talking last night about Obama's decision to fight the Court demanding the release of these photos - He thought that maybe Obama was just playing a bit of a game - that he wants someone else to insist that they be made public so that he can say he tried to "protect our troops." I hope that is not the case - I hope he has the courage to stand behind his convictions and that he will reverse his reversal.
Elaina43 2 years ago
And then put us in even more danger than we are already in. What happened was he finally came to his senses (partially anyway), and realized that protecting our citizens is sometimes a messy business, and if he doesn't want another 9/11 SQUARELY on his shoulders, he better get with the program a little bit and acknowledge reality. It still might be too little too late, but it's a start anyway.
ADEAL416 2 years ago
Acknowledge reality. I agree. We should.
Do you recommend we acknowledge reality by denying it?!
These things happened - unfortunately - and we have to deal with it. Postponement of the ramifications will lead to more ramifications.
Elaina43 2 years ago
We have acknowledged reality, and anyone who did anything that wasn't specifically for the purpose of getting information necessary to save lives (which really mostly applies to the Abu Ghraib business) has already been brought to justice. What I recommend is that Obama take the advice of his CIA and military advisors, and if they tell him that the release of these memos and photos put us in greater danger, HE SHOULD LISTEN TO THEM AND PUT THE KABOSH ON THIS!!!!!!

Do you want to be complicit with that?

This question doesn't apply to 1938 Germany, because by then most Germans supported the Nazis, and they were in power, thus the question of prosecutions was not even on the table to start with. Noone wanted them prosecuted, because the crimes were just beginning and people chose to turn a blind eye.

* The memos were released due to a court order. *
You stand corrected.

Without a doubt this ends in bloodshed. Now which blood will be shed can still be debated. Time is running short

I agree, Obama misrepresented himself in the election for president.
Watch Jesse Ventura interview with Larry King last night?

I'm with you, Ella. It's not about giving more time when someone does bails out, hires former AIGers, keeps Robert Gates, keeps us in Iraq, etc. In this short period of time, he's proven that things will remain the same. Dems and the GOP are both adjuncts of the globalist agenda.

I "threw my vote away" voting third party. I could not vote for a candidate that would continue the same policy towards Israel that has a 3rd of the people on the planet angry at us and rightly so.

Nothing will happen, the US will cease to exist.

The problem is obama is a good salesman. He has convinced many on the left that de-regulation was the problem.
Now he is selling this garbage about the photos will enrage people, but bombing villages and killing innocent people has no ramifications?
wuastwais 2 years ago 2
wuastwais: I still believe de-regulation is the problem:) - but this said, bombing civilians and making excuses for torture is also a major problem.

The fact that the federal reserve, a private cartel of banks, inflated this bubble by the actions of their monetary policy most concerns me.
If you have resources that debunk this argument, i would appreciate if you could share them with me.

i said that from the beginning ^^ obama is just more of the same

Ella - no need to get calm.
An angry woman of German descent is what we need.
Huzzah ! ! !

a major mistake indeed. i deeply REGRET my choice in voting for Obama.

Given the parameters of the choices laid before you, you can not be said to have willingly participated in this.
You were attempting to duck away from a gun. You saw no way to do so without capitulating to another gun.
Really the same gun... but either way...
It is unjust to blame the hostage for the actions of the gunmen.
