The reason ps3 can't have the better graphics and such that it can produce, is because of cross platforming. The developers themselves aim to make the experience as close to the same for each console as possible. I honestly can't wait for the next xbox, be nice to be the frontrunner console if not for a short time.

@Mudo675 Buddy I'm writing strictly for this game and no other but the PS3's version is better for 2 reasons. 1. The game comes in one disc. 2. Although you can't really see in mid gameplay the smoothness of the CGI scenes is definitely better within the PS3 version, I personally don't know why that is but it is what it is :D On the 360 it's very pixelly during the CGI scenes, most of the 360 exclusives I played all had the pixel effect during cutscenes and on FF13 its blatantly obvious.
Owning the game on both consoles, I can tell you that the PS3 version is better than the Xbox 360 version hands down.
With the Xbox version being rendered out at 1024x576 and the PS3 version rendered at full 720p, both using the same upscaling system, the difference is noticeable.
There is slight pixelation in the cut scenes of the 360 version while the PS3 version looks nearly crystal clear.
Both versions also experience FPS drops but the PS3 usually runs about 4 frames higher than the 360.
The xbox360 screeen brightness is dimmed down a little than the ps3 so the graphics look sharper on the xbox360 but if it wasnt side by side and u were playing on either console you wouldnt tell the difference really, Final Fantasy's graphics are still amazing on any platform

The colour & brightness difference proves that the RGB range is set to limited on the ps3. Seriously, sony fucked up by having that set to limited by default. It should have been set to full range by default, that way we wouldn't have all these false comparisons.
Nice videos, I thought that the lips movement weren't changed in order to adapt from the Japanese version to the English, but they did. At first I thought they just implemented english dialogues that would fit the same lip movement of the japanese version.

PS3 runs it on 1080p and 360 runs it on 576p. This is clearly noticable in the video when Lightning's hair looks very jaggy in the video on the 360 while on the PS3, its very smooth.

@LBDragonz When testing, the ps3 does however have a higher frame mainly cuz the 360 version was pulled out the last minute, ut you are right about the subhd and some minor cutscene. the only reason is the disc capacity, if the ff13 game is downloadable it would load and play better on the xbox version. however as of today it is only on HD dvd's while i prefer xbox the ps3 version of final fantasy is preferable. while there are many games people would get on xbox over ps3. same thing over ohwel

The PS3 has 256 MB of GDDR3 ( 700 MHz ) and 256 MB of XDR ( 3.2 GHz ) ALL PS3 consoles have this RAM. So if you add those two figures together thats 512 MB of RAM ( but XDR is better than GDDR ) and if you want to know 360 uses 512 GDDR3 RAM ( 700 MHz )

@michealharty Compare XDR 3.2 GHz against GDDR3 700 MHz. XDR is better. Nearly 5 times faster than GDDR3 at 700 MHz. So there is a difference between them. The rest of what you put makes no sense.

As for the CELL processor is made up of One x PPE and eight x SPE's ( One Synergistic Processor Element is disabled to increase manufacturing yield ) developers use 6 SPE's / SPU's, so theres not just seven like you post. There is in fact eight SPE's ( seven being used ).

@LBDragonz Im still using the xbox GT since i first got it, my old psn is cancelled by request i didnt do much on at cuz at the time i only had ff13 and killzone, after a breif period it broke down i ended up selling my ps3 games. got a new one. uncharted 3 bundle with mgs4, again i cancelled my last account and have a new one, so now i only have two ps3 games, i want to get more and i only have about 3-4 friends.

people saying "360 has better colour so its a better console" are retarded. I'm not saying which one is better, but please know the difference between graphics and display contrast ratio/colour saturation ... the PS3 image being a bit "whiter" can easily be changed by increasing your screen contrast ratio or colour saturation. Um actually Square Enix only said that they ended up scrapping a lot of extra material because the game was already 3 disc long, they said nothing about the graphics for the 360.
Even the makers of Final Fantasy said hey put more effort and detail into the ps3 version, than just ripped it so it could be played on Xbox 360... So yeah, even the creators of the game said its better on ps3 than Xbox, and plus Final Fantasy is made for Playstation not Xbox :D

In terms of HD it doesn't matter which console looks the best. It depends on your capture device. Playing this game in top notch quality requires a HD-PVR which makes the game sexy on both consoles. Look at my videos and you can barely tell any difference.
xbox 360 has better graphics on most games because sony used a processor that game developers find hard to programme for. so cross platform games are always made on xbox then ported overt to ps3. the graphics are nearly the same with xbox having slightly more contrast amd the xbox plays smoother and the graphics are crispier. i know this becaus i have both consoles and i play on 50" tv where the difference is noticable.
why cant people settle with both systems' greatness? I grew up with the playstations but I also happen to have respect for the 360. I dont see any difference rather than the lighting but the graphics are pretty much the same.

This game seems awesome but I just can't stand turn-based fighting games. That's why I always hated Pokemon. And it's always the Japanese anime games too.

PS3 is BD-ROM, XBOX360 is different capacity by DVD, and PS3 has not demonstrated an original performance because of the cost yet. The suppressed situation is a miracle in the price equal with XBOX360 though it is BD-ROM. The volume in which high-resolution more than this capacity is put might be not worth XBOX360.
I can honestly say I can't tell the difference. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Just play the damn game instead of arguing. It really doesn't matter!!!

@1993ufuk Well, blu-ray definitely has more memory, but it loads slower lol. So that point's kinda wrong, but better hardware isn't everything. They both relatively have the same graphics (PS3 wins on CGI no matter what). Some games look better on 360 due to it having better texture rendering (so some in-game graphics LOOK BETTER). I own both consoles, so I do notice weird lines on the PS3.
Slow loading, no dude. You know some files are saved on the Disc from PS3, the games all run very fast without lagging, some friends of me have also both consoles and they are also sayin PS3 is much better.

@dcheartly If that's true I want the PS3 version lol. Actually I have the PS3 English version and I regret I didn't buy the Chinese version (the one with Japanese VA + English subs). In the English dub there are times were the VA are "out of character" (being Hope the king in this). I'm gonna wait for FFXIII-2 Chinese Edition next year.

The colour & brightness difference proves that the RGB range is set to limited on the ps3. Seriously, sony fucked up by having that set to limited by default. It should have been set to full range by default, that way we wouldn't have all these false comparisons.

PS3 runs it on 1080p and 360 runs it on 576p. This is clearly noticable in the video when Lightning's hair looks very jaggy in the video on the 360 while on the PS3, its very smooth.

Final Fantasy XIII on Xbox 360 isn't anywhere near as impressive as it is on PS3. 360 version is 1024x576,( SUB HD ) with 2x MSAA. This is up against native 720p ( 1280x720 ) on the PS3 version, again with 2x level of MSAA

@LBDragonz When testing, the ps3 does however have a higher frame mainly cuz the 360 version was pulled out the last minute, ut you are right about the subhd and some minor cutscene. the only reason is the disc capacity, if the ff13 game is downloadable it would load and play better on the xbox version. however as of today it is only on HD dvd's while i prefer xbox the ps3 version of final fantasy is preferable. while there are many games people would get on xbox over ps3. same thing over ohwel

The PS3 has 256 MB of GDDR3 ( 700 MHz ) and 256 MB of XDR ( 3.2 GHz ) ALL PS3 consoles have this RAM. So if you add those two figures together thats 512 MB of RAM ( but XDR is better than GDDR ) and if you want to know 360 uses 512 GDDR3 RAM ( 700 MHz )

In terms of HD it doesn't matter which console looks the best. It depends on your capture device. Playing this game in top notch quality requires a HD-PVR which makes the game sexy on both consoles. Look at my videos and you can barely tell any difference.

xbox 360 has better graphics on most games because sony used a processor that game developers find hard to programme for. so cross platform games are always made on xbox then ported overt to ps3. the graphics are nearly the same with xbox having slightly more contrast amd the xbox plays smoother and the graphics are crispier. i know this becaus i have both consoles and i play on 50" tv where the difference is noticable.

PS3 is BD-ROM, XBOX360 is different capacity by DVD, and PS3 has not demonstrated an original performance because of the cost yet. The suppressed situation is a miracle in the price equal with XBOX360 though it is BD-ROM. The volume in which high-resolution more than this capacity is put might be not worth XBOX360.

from most of these kinds of videos i have see people keep saying that the 360 has better and i'm not say it does or doesn't but if u look closely the PS3 actualy has a brighter picture resolution so really there is no difference in graphics and i have seen it for my self

@Whiteknight69r lol xbox is a port of the ps3 version, i have no idea how a port can be better than the original build. xbox runs at a lower res, have more frame drops and doesn't have 1080p cutscenes

I saw a video about Dragon Age 2, there was also the comparison in PS3 and XBOX 360 with FPS.
The FPS from XBOX was fucking low and PS3 was more higher.
Shut up and learn about Technology, by the way I atend a secondary upper technical highschool and I know the HARDWARE from the PS3 is the best of the consoles, the easist mark is also the Reader.
PS3 = Bluray and XBOX360 = DVD, you know the Bluray disc have more memory space and is fast

@1993ufuk Well, blu-ray definitely has more memory, but it loads slower lol. So that point's kinda wrong, but better hardware isn't everything. They both relatively have the same graphics (PS3 wins on CGI no matter what). Some games look better on 360 due to it having better texture rendering (so some in-game graphics LOOK BETTER). I own both consoles, so I do notice weird lines on the PS3.

Slow loading, no dude. You know some files are saved on the Disc from PS3, the games all run very fast without lagging, some friends of me have also both consoles and they are also sayin PS3 is much better.

@1993ufuk oh shut up. i know more than you! i can fix a 360 with the "Red Ring Of Death!", and hack a ps3 so i can play netflix and youtube, as well as not needing anything like a phone line to connect to internet. i can take the wholething apart, clean it and put it back together in a day. u dont need a tech school to learn about tech. and you dont need to be old. im only 13! eat that!

@dcheartly If that's true I want the PS3 version lol. Actually I have the PS3 English version and I regret I didn't buy the Chinese version (the one with Japanese VA + English subs). In the English dub there are times were the VA are "out of character" (being Hope the king in this). I'm gonna wait for FFXIII-2 Chinese Edition next year.

compressed vs uncompressed. haha,the winner is clearly very obvious. it just looks plain horrible on 360. there's also some little tiny details missing here and there on the 360. bah, lucky it doesn't concern me when i'm playing on the superior version

@BlissKira hahaha, just saying,no hard feelings,lolz. in all honesty,there are other multiplat games which also look better on 360. so its no big deal in general personally for me. FF13 is like this on 360 because it was apparently built to optimize Cell from the get go and then was decided for multiplat. also,a lot of content was cut because of this multiplat decision to make it fit on as few dvd's as possible for 360.bottomline,both consoles are good in their own aspects,so lets just game on:)
