if someone made a hippie movement today and tried to make our generation like the 1960s i will love and support them it would just be beautiful to live life like our grandparents did in the 1960s thumbs of if you support and love for that to happen in 2012 :)
You have no idea what the top 25 in the 60's were...you took a look at some chart and put this together. Only those who lived those years KNOW what the top 25 hits were. And you missed by a mile.
Loved your compilation, thank you... I would have got " White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane in there somewhere though..oh and "See Emily Play" by Pink Floyd. Maybe a top 30? lol. Thanks again, you just made a gang of people in their middle age get into a fight! lol.
Was in High School and College and these are pretty much on target... there were a few missing...anything Janis Joplin would worl, and Wild Thing, I think I love You.
@carp566 "Is this the actual list or just someone pet list?"
It is someone's pet list. It has to be. Giving the Beatles 1964 for "I Want to Hold Your Hand," there is nothing from '61, '62, or '63. And EVERYONE knows that there were some wonderful songs from those years.
great list, although i love the beatles dearly and they are the best and my absolute favs, you need a bit more variety like janis joplin, the who, stuff like that. not that there wasnt enough beatles, theres never enough beatles :)
Pretty good reflection of the 60's, thought the Doors should have been higher. Hard to put 60's into 25 songs. No Small faces, Who , Janis Joplin,Elvis, Too many Beatles
@pawwadd Thanks for the comment! I've watched a lot of videos where the person just chooses rock songs for all the songs in their countdown. Rather then do that, I tried to incorporate a wider genre of music and tried to stay away from some of the rock songs. I suppose doing so caused me to leave out some of the artists that you mentioned, but I believe that most of the songs are more deserving of a top 25 mention. But then again, everyone has their own opinion
@Opguip Music is all about opinions and I accept that the selections is your top 25, its your video. But it hardly gives a true reflection of the times, the top 25 records of that generation or the people who lived the musical revolution. Nice to hear the songs again though.
@pawwadd there is no such thing as too many beatles. and i know what your thinking: im a poser. well im not. i actually appreciate good music, not the shitsound thats on the radio now. i cannot stand riding the bus to school because the driver always has 93q on (thats my towns local pop station)
Good list. I don't think there are too many Beatles - they WERE the 1960s. I might have included Herb Alpert "Taste of Honey" it's sooo period.

A song from the Supremes should have been there, they had 12 no. 1 hits and all in the sixties.

Nicely done and good selection. I'm sure it wasn't easy to find those video clips, but very well done. Much better than most "collections".
