This song and "Empty Chairs" will always remind me of my mother who died on April 25 2002. I grew up listening to this and Johnny Cash and other folky country stuff. It's where all good music has come from. But Don Mclean is a stand out. He is such a poet. And I miss my mother.
I used to call up the radio stations and bug them to play this...in the '80's. They grudgingly obliged since it was "an old song". The guitar and vocal are superb. I seem to recall the original footage; hope that you locate it and post it here. Thanks for putting this on.
