The record company or label had nothing to do with who she was and who she is now. Then, she was a teenager. And if you listen to her songs, shes obviously been through a lot. But in time you heal. Now, shes grown up. Shes a woman. She all the damage and hurt and pain she felt at this time has mostly healed. So of course shes not writing the same "type" of music. She healed herself by being like that, and shes helping other teenagers that were like her heal too. Thank you Avril, you helped me :)

Exactly. The second album was so powerful, now she's doing songs about girly stuff and had to dye her hair. And seems to be most interested in fashion and perfumes. If she's fine with it, so be it, it's her decision.

But I personally believe, the best pieces of music and art in general come from pain and grieving. Nobody wants to see a film in which people are happy all the time or wants to listen to music in which somebody sings about how brillant his or her life is.

Theres a few videos of her in interviews nearly in tears about how stressed and miserable she was.. The record label created her 'rocky' image, when she finally got enough input into her music to make it more girly and fun and a chance to be happy all of her fans turn against her and call her fake.You would think the 'fans' would recognise that atleast
