  • the journo garry bushell described them as trotskys great -grandson in a red harrington .mind you that was before he started working for the sun

  • Still kicking myself to this day for not seeing them live!

  • Loved these guys 25 years ago. Nothing has changed - my union and all my hardworking colleagues are threatened by erosion of contractual terms and conditions of service (Public Servants). As relevant a message then, as it is now. Up the Skins!!

  • the vocalist kinda reminds me of Billy Bragg...they're both awesome

  • Saw them a few times but the one that sticks in my memory was at a Save the GLC gig in London where Chris Dean and the rest of the band got in a fight on stage with some neo-nazi skin heads in the crowd and all the bands gear ended up being thrown off stage!

  • I was there, great crowd. Billy Bragg played after the Redskins (who didn't) and the Smiths off the night. wot a gig

  • Saw them around 1984 / 85 in Cardiff.

    Unforgettable night. Cool as.......

  • Saw them around 1984 / 85 at Council Club Cardiff. Unforgettable night. Cool as.........

  • Im sad... Im sad 'cause i'll never see this band... I've jealousy of you, guys and girls of the 60, 70's!

  • dont be jealous of the 60s n 70s, the redskins were the 80's.

  • saw them in aberdeen and they were fkn tastic

  • Had my LP on over the weekend. My 3 young kids were jumping all over the place dancing. Great soul sounds.

  • For those who are asking where they can get downloads, the album is Neither Washington Nor Moscow (But International Socialism) - and is completely brilliant. Still available on CD and as MP3's from obscure sites like Amazon .....

  • Damm capitalism

  • Saw these in Leeds in 1985 during the Miners' Strike. Brilliant, with every few songs followed by a Geordie miner or Nicaraguan underpvileged crop grower making a speech- bit odd. Wild skinhead crowd charging around the place, but great night. Remember this performance on The Tube too, when they keptcutting the soud whenever they got the same crowd of miners etc. getting up and trying to make political points.

  • can anyone please help me to find downloads of the redskins? this is the very best music and i fuckin' cant find it

  • Sad to see that such a fantastic band doesn't exist any more!

    Call for a reunion!

  • Fuckyeah, someone, meet the Redskins again!

  • Brilliant. Went to see them in late 80s a couple of times. Strangest thing, last night on some middle aged beeb program called the invisibles, it was playing in the background....Hmm.

  • Brilliant. Weirdest thing, just watching middle aged programme on the beeb called the invisibles and it was playing in the background. Saw them in sunny telford and coventry where boothills supported. Ho hum.

  • I remember it....Fantastic!!!!

    PS....Mr.Cleverdick....I got the single!!!! ;)

  • Saw this on the Tube and loved it - tried for ages to get the single and never could.

    Fantastic to see it again.

  • enduring classic, great nostalgia and etupendously cool jacket. Im off to see if youtube has any Theatre of hate and New Model Army

    Thanks for uploading

  • how come they never rock the docs?

  • Remember watchin these at York Racecourse in 84/85 with Sisters of Mercy,Spear of Destiny..

    Fookin Great

  • Brought this on 12 inch when it first came out...great song

  • I saw the Redskins live in London on Double bill with Billy Bragg to raise money for the miners strike going on at the time. It was a great night with some terrific music

  • ye i was one of the marcher's great night....and a long walk. But needless too say this was the death of the popular left after that it was all down hill to what's his name now.But if you saw this time there's nothing lost the flame still burn's,lesson's learnt can hopefully be turned into something understood

  • good band i just heard of them becuase of youtube and i guess these are the guys that started redskins? i dont know but still good music

  • As a skinhead, I never quite got into the Redskins. I did go see them once but the scene was splitting in two at the time - nationalists one way and non nationalists the other way. Wasn't quite prepared to be labelled a communist at that time and the then new found interest in skinhead reggae (my first love) was the way to go for me. Redskins skinheads were seen as a bit odd at the time. A great band though.

  • Such a fucking brilliant song by a fucking brilliant band! Only discovered The Redskins in 2003 - 20 years too late! Bugger! Come on fella's, reform!

  • As Red as Red can be and hardly ever wore boots either!
