The amount of crap that West End bar and door staff take all summer is untrue, this coupled with the unpredictability and drug / alcohol fuelled nature of the clients makes this doormans actions perfectly acceptable. @demonhorizon this action is totaly not acceptable, the client was already outside so there was no reason for throwing a punch. It's show's the lack off proffesional training. With bouncers like this you will get an aggressive atmosphere in and around your bar/club that can go on the whole evening or night. i have been a doorman many years and we always removed an agressive client quick and discrete out of the club.

In my experiences with clubs I would say most bouncers are asshols and instigate aggression. Few seem to act professional. This guy i'm sure was a prick earlier but here he seems to just be asking the bouncer a question or something and he just socks him! for gods sake!!

While I can't be doing with angry bouncers the more I watch this the more the lad is asking for it. Goes head to head and gets warned, most of the bouncers I know wouldn't even have give him the warning. When I see the video, I see a person who's half naked, standing above a bouncer, repeating himself then frowning, and having his face in the bouncer's face - it also sounds like the bouncer is from the Leeds area, where fights kick off every 3 minutes.

I don't agree - the aggressor, was threatening, he was obviously drunk, he was standing with his face on the bouncers face, and he was challenging him, which I think is called "assault" - the "battery" is when you hurt someone.
So I think the bouncer acted in a way that could be seen as defensive - he doesn't know who the man with no top is, what martial arts he may be skilled in or what weapons he may have on him.

@tingod99 Sometimes bouncers get shot or stabbed when someone feels he has the right to revenge. I believe this happens a lot more to those bouncers whose solution to every problem are fists and less to those who try first talking patiently, then holding arms and walking troublemakers out.
I met sometime ago a bouncer who had been at door for years and never gotten into a fight, just some pushing once or twice. That's professional. Starting fistfights with clients not so much in my opinion.

I am a bouncer in Brazil, I believe in "talk first, talk again, then later 'maybe' fight", what I want to say is, I prefer to talk with someone many times before the things get ugly, bouncer can solve the problems with talking and having pacience, just go to the next level(fight or submission) if the guy throw the first punch or dont be part of solution. And I am proud to say I never got punched, I always try give some solution, last option is the fighting.

And yes I agree in some situations if someone is throwing punches at you then you have to defend yourself. I watch many bouncers at a weekend when Im in my taxi and I dont see many of them with the proper training to be on the doors. The only training I see alot of them have is to KO or choke someone out which is ridiculous. Well done on trying to be profesional and talk first.

Some bouncers even are the cause of most fights, antagonizing people. I would hate to be branded like that, I would prefer to be seen as a very professional and fair doorman. Ive spoken to bar owners about the problem and even had some say well what can I do about it, I said sack them and they are scared to do it. Now that's really bad. @darynsax in my experience as a bouncer i always felt the bar staff were more to blame, they are the ones dishing out all the alcohol. They are too scared to refuse service to people or get in a confrontation, much easier to just give the drinks. The we end up with the incredible fucken hulk and get persecuted for how we handle him. the problem starts art the bar!
Unprofessional, try being a taxi driver and handling 3 or 4 guys on your own, Ive had too and its the way you handle the situation that makes you a pro. Ive seen bouncers shadow boxing ,ducking and weaving outside a bar and bragging about fights they have won. In my experiences with clubs I would say most bouncers are asshols and instigate aggression. Few seem to act professional. This guy i'm sure was a prick earlier but here he seems to just be asking the bouncer a question or something and he just socks him! for gods sake!!

While I can't be doing with angry bouncers the more I watch this the more the lad is asking for it. Goes head to head and gets warned, most of the bouncers I know wouldn't even have give him the warning. After that you clearly see the lad give him that look as if to say he's ready to go at which point he should have restrained him, not tried to knock him out.

When I see the video, I see a person who's half naked, standing above a bouncer, repeating himself then frowning, and having his face in the bouncer's face - it also sounds like the bouncer is from the Leeds area, where fights kick off every 3 minutes.
So, to me it looks like a man thought he could intimidate a bouncer - and the bouncer showed him that he could not.
I really view the video as a challenge which was met.

I don't agree - the aggressor, was threatening, he was obviously drunk, he was standing with his face on the bouncers face, and he was challenging him, which I think is called "assault" - the "battery" is when you hurt someone.
So I think the bouncer acted in a way that could be seen as defensive - he doesn't know who the man with no top is, what martial arts he may be skilled in or what weapons he may have on him.
Ok stamping on him when he's on the ground - might get him done like.

well yes - I see your point - but I just think it's hard to sum up this situation in a short clip - we don't know what led up to it - how long he'd been there, what he'd said, if he'd been there before, if he knew the bouncer personally, you know? this clip makes it look like a bouncer attacked someone for next to nothing, but we don't see the 10 minutes before it.

@tingod99 Sometimes bouncers get shot or stabbed when someone feels he has the right to revenge. I believe this happens a lot more to those bouncers whose solution to every problem are fists and less to those who try first talking patiently, then holding arms and walking troublemakers out.
I met sometime ago a bouncer who had been at door for years and never gotten into a fight, just some pushing once or twice. That's professional. Starting fistfights with clients not so much in my opinion.

I am a bouncer in Brazil, I believe in "talk first, talk again, then later 'maybe' fight", what I want to say is, I prefer to talk with someone many times before the things get ugly, bouncer can solve the problems with talking and having pacience, just go to the next level(fight or submission) if the guy throw the first punch or dont be part of solution. And I am proud to say I never got punched, I always try give some solution, last option is the fighting.

And yes I agree in some situations if someone is throwing punches at you then you have to defend yourself. I watch many bouncers at a weekend when Im in my taxi and I dont see many of them with the proper training to be on the doors. @darynsax in my experience as a bouncer i always felt the bar staff were more to blame, they are the ones dishing out all the alcohol. They are too scared to refuse service to people or get in a confrontation, much easier to just give the drinks. Unprofessional, try being a taxi driver and handling 3 or 4 guys on your own, Ive had too and its the way you handle the situation that makes you a pro. Ive seen bouncers shadow boxing ,ducking and weaving outside a bar and bragging about fights they have won.
