1: ancients didnt spread english (a language that came into frution millions of years after they left their home galaxy, thousands of years after they left the pegasus galaxy and hundreds of years after the majority died out) and even if they did the primary language would have diverted back to go'auld in this galaxy and the pegasus and ori galaxy would still be a variant of the ancients original language

@angrykid616 It's just a tv show, nothing is ever realistic on TV, like in Charmed, they'd get hurt and their clothes would get torn, then, when Leo healed them, their clothes were magically repaired. As far as I know Leo can't heal clothes. Also, earlier in the show he couldn't heal whenever he wanted, the Elders chose, but in the next season or two he heals a papercut for Piper. So, really it's just more of sit back and enjoy it. In a tv show everyone speaks perfect English.

@angrykid616 a) sound isn't travelling in space, it's more the slim layer of atmosphere inside the guns etc producing the "sound" we hear when they're fired. the beam weapons are subject to whatever race you're referring to regarding where they come from and... ancients seeded the Pegasus galaxy just as much as they did the milky way with humans. chances are pretty high they'd learn the same languages/develop the same cultures etc.

There is no way you can explain either of these things happening. They are there because silent space battles would be boring and around 50% of an episode would be someone translating what is said.
