Scan for spyware using Lavasoft AdAware

i have been using adaware for some time now,it is not doing a free web update,i took down the latest verson,sill wont let me do a web uodate,can anyone give me a help,i am not that great on a computer,lol trying to teach myself,thanks all,great day to all

hi with regards to your coments on how to disable the application programs, is it the one located in the system 32 folder

should i take that thing out in the sys32 folder

ex: to disable notepad you would move this file (notepad.exe)

located here:

%windir%\system32\notepad.exe

and hide it.

if you right click on the application launch file, and choose properties it will tell you where it is located. Thats the one you want to move or hide.

If you disable it for them then it would be disabled for you too, you could take the (exe) file and move it and don't tell them where it is so they cant launch it., for example, to disable notepad you would move this file (notepad.exe)

damn okay so i have like 2 internet explorer pages up with no other tabs, but when i check the processes it shows like 7-9 internet explorers running does this mean i have a virus or spyware?

Good, but nowadays, you need more then one.

Ad-aware is the best one, but sometimes it misses some(that's what a I use spybot S&D for)

justwant2bhappy with norton its a massive chance ure letting all of it in! ure paying for a crap product in my opinion.trust i had norton for 2-3 years and had so many viruses that i had to install xp like 4 times. as im sure dave will tell you avast is awsome and thanks for the vid dave (using avast pro and spybot search and destroy)
