  • good job.....very nice video with suitable music.kraftwerk...excellent choice...

  • Hold on... how'd you get in there? I thought it was illegal to go through there. And also, I cannot read radiation levels. is is still really bad there or is it safe-ish now?

  • @FallinForInfinity101

It is possible to access the area with tours that are controlled

And the levels are still dangerous to your health if you stay longterm

A visit more or less exposes you to the same readiation level as a transatlantic flight.

  • How do all those people get in the zone these days? Isn't it prohibited to enter?

  • @Stifflerkid

There are 2 zones, the 30 kilometer zone where the military are based and guards and the 10 kilometer zone where no one lives within

  • I've heard that it still lives 2000 people in Chernobyl

  • @Kimpa445

There are a large number of military in the village of Chernobol.

The village however is about 30 kilometer from the power plant.

  • So noone lives here today?

  • @Fox250R

    Not in Pripyat

  • the radiation has not affected the trees as they still green an growing, the grass looks okay , why not let people back to live an rebuild the place?

  • @pboi54

The gras is radioactive as it is in the ground.

Hence the grass is considered radioactive waste and must be cut and stored.

The amount of waste grows every year as grass grows as well and a biggest fear in the area are forest fires as that would set the radiation free up in the air again

  • Nice song on the background, I think it's from kraftwerk, but what is the title? Thansk

  • @r8448 Kraftwerk - Radioactivity

  • @r8448

    Radioaktivität

  • i play call of duty but i get pissed off when people get all the information they have in their brains from it....seriously i mean i knew about Chernobyl before i played cod...i don't see how you can't

BUT STOP WITH THE FUCKING CALL OF DUTY COMMENTS IT'S ANNOYING

  • @pierceys234 cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4cod4

  • i swear to god it looks like someone made cod4 in real life and recorded it

  • Again cod4 COMMENTS fuck this i will sue infinity ward for puting this city to the game!

  • reminds me of fallout 3

  • Wow, Infinty Ward did a good replica of Chernobyl in Call of Duty 4!!!

I saw the pool area and the wheel fair, and the place and buildings are very similar!!!

  • Pripyat is a real ghost town....

Chernobyl area and all the areas affected by the explotion and radiation are doomed for the next 500 years, at least....Radiation is still high....what a sad situation!!

It was really sad to see all that people with low knowledge on the radiations effects over humans, fighting the fire and trying to control the situation.....Most of them died already, and many others are still suffering the radiation effects.

  • I'm surprised how the vegetation is still growing

  • 3:14 is in cod 4 lol where the dogs attacked

  • 3:19 reminds me of mw1

  • Comment removed

  • @redcatthekiller

    Kraftwerk - Radioaktivität

  • @Antizmannen thamk you

  • Imagine how different this would look if the disaster never happened....

  • How exactly do you take radiation in? Do you breathe it or does your body absorb it?

  • @counternub40

    Radiation penetrates you.

But you can also get it through particals like dust or through contaminated food or drinks

  • @Antizmannen Thanks ;) I would really love to go to Chernobyl, such a place of interest and mystery.

  • @Antizmannen Chuck Norris penetrates radiation!

  • @Antizmannen It depends which radiation, Gamma rays penetrates metal, alpha rays get stopped by a piece of paper

  • @counternub40 i think the body absorbed it

  • Fajny filmik.

  • this is something that i dont get about chernobyl/pripryat, how are the rooms all messed up like theyv been vandalised, or like the tipped over tables, piano, ect. does anyone know how?

  • @BasslinesAndMCs

    because of looters

  • @Antizmannen ahh, i see... whouldent it look quite good if it was how it was abandoned, like, where the people left it? it whould like frozen history, even the city preatty much is :(

  • @Antizmannen looters suck the fucked pripyat up

  • Since the city is abandonded looters and bandits have taken everything.

  • I heard there were some wildfires around Pripyat. Wonder if any contamination got into the air?

  • @hydraulicsd1

The fires never reached Pripyat or the contaminated zone

  • What does that sign says?

  • Reminds me of call of duty 4

  • @GhettoDweebs That's because cod 4 is based on this

  • It happend in 1hour 23 minute 45 seconds but not 2 hour after midnight!

  • @HeyMarkedOne8

I have realized that I thought wrong when I did the video.

Accident happened 01.23 Moscow time, which would be 23.23 CET and 22.23 UTC

  • @Antizmannen OMG you already replied!XD ok I just have to corect you!okay?

I can talk a lot about Chernobyl...I even play game about Chernobyl (S.T.A.L.K.E.R.).

And Pripyat looks really scary, no?

  • @HeyMarkedOne8

It is indeed an interesting place.

    Not scary but peaceful more

  • @HeyMarkedOne8 Also there are a few missions in Prypiat in Call of duty 4 :)

  • thankyou, good video! my lifelong ambition is to go there!

    ( im 13 )

  • what does actually happen if you get rad-poisoned inside the zone? Do they let you out?

  • music pls ??

  • @B2KDeluxe

    Kraftwerk - Radioaktivity

  • @Antizmannen thanks

  • @Antizmannen yes that's the song but on some other language...there still the best version is on english

  • those thingys you wear on your mouth do nothing but make people aware

  • @playstationlogic

It does more then you think..

  • When i was little i used to swim in that pool...

  • @spantgar that freaks me out :s

  • i think call of duty has made the younger genoration intrested we should not forget that its a place of death and comands respect when there.

  • rofl the alarm n siren in the beginning is eerie

  • Braooo Great Job ! 5 Stars Voted ! You have seen or found some Mutans or Zombies ? :) Nice Job Bravoo again.

  • 22 may-is my birthday

  • hey... one of my friends was there last year and he told me that it was totally awesome, he even made a site about chernobyl, so if you want just try chernobylwel. com

  • wow 3:18 , that place is in CALL OF DUTY 4!!

  • everything out there is like cod 4 cuz game was made to look like that places

  • i hope he didn't stayed there more than one day. 1 day=limit 1 week=low radiation contamination. 1 month contaminated 2 months= better suicide now.

  • @jeuxpclol101

I suggest you look up facts first

  • Honestly what prompted you to visit chernobyl? Do they offer you any Radiation suits? Do you have to go through decontamination when you leave?

  • @hydraulicsdh

Curiosity and the fact that my life in Sweden was affected by the accident when i was a kid.

    No radiationsuit is needed.

And yes, you are checked before you leave

  • @Antizmannen how was your life affected ? i was in scotland two days after and they where telling my dad to take pills before we climbed ben nevis. i know sweden got a big dose of that cloud i would like to go there how do you go about it thanks for the vid must off been a odd day that day.

  • @1979jondam

I was suddenly not allowed to eat certian things like berries and some meat which I was used to as a kid, not allowed to be out and play in certain areas.

  • @Antizmannen thats harsh

  • what is it like in pryipyat

  • Silent... Very silent..

  • ....You know its weird to see all the greenery there...like floorishing plants and long grass and stuff...you think if it was HEAVILY radiated the grass would have a hard time growing....and the fish would be dead....weird

  • @frankenstein04 That is an incorrect thought actually... Radioactivity is only leathal in heavy doses. And nature is not as effected as humans are. The problem they face though is that the soil is contaminated and the grass that grows up is radioactive as well, meaning that they have to cut and gather the grass and store it as it is radioactive waste. You can guess how much grass they get every year to store somewhere. And the storage capacity is quickly running out..

  • ...Okay why do they have to cut it? If its inhabitable then why bother let it grow as long as it wants...if its true that we cant get back in there for another 250,000 years then we wont see it...the earth will be toast in that time....

  • The biggest fear in this area is fires. If a fire would break out the radioactivity would be released in the atmosphere again. That is why they cut the grass as a preventive method

  • ahh yes indeed,,,the things you dont think of eh ? lol

  • how do you get in with the military there and all that

  • You go through a travel agency who arranges trips there. It is heavly regulated and you will have to sign a paper saying to take full responisibilty and that you do it on your own risk.

  • well done! fitting song. radioactivity by kraftwerk.

@canucksroc98 I agree. I really want to take a camera and geiger counter.

  • I've got one little question Antizmannen, maybe this question is quite stupid but I still like to know the answer. At those buildings you see some graffiti, and there is some graffiti in the swimming pool. Who did that? Cause i guess you're not allowed to do that if you are a visitor ^^.

  • @TIJNxSTYLE Maybe it was there since the accident but it it was i think it whould look faded abit but that is a good question, it seems reall confusing lol.

  • @TIJNxSTYLE google "Chernobyl Graffitti" and you will get the answer... I cant link sites here..

  • ohh...but how do you get in there my friend? couse me and some of my friends are planning a trip there in the urban city of chernobyl and pripyat.. could you give me some infos? thanx !

  • You need to go through any of the travel agencies that arranges tours to be ale to get there.

The number of visitors each year are limited and also you have to leave information about yourdself and passport to be granted access.

  • a very nice video,in surtain ways my hear is getting up my skin when i see videos over pripyat!the necesary abandoning of the town and the way it still stand there is amazing!i ever going to visit it just too feel the abandoning town!and no i'm not a disaster toerist i'm just curious how it stands...gtrzzz from antwerp-belgium.

  • Im going to make my second visit in July as it looks like right now.

  • @Antizmannen Why do you want to go there? What is it that attracts you to go there? I wouldn't want to go there for a billion dollars.

  • We all have different interests and opinions.

I guess it is because Im a fan of UE but also because it is a place where most people wouldn´t go for various reasons.

    I find it interesting.

  • i seriously have a goal to go there one time, just to see

  • I was in Germany at the time, and even we were scared of the radioactive dust blowing all over europe. I feel so sorry for the people there,, I hate nuclear power. We should use wind and solar power. Wow, I though CHernobyl would be poisined for at least 50 years. 3 mile Island was the other scary one. : (

  • Great video

  • Thx m8, I thought it would be Kraftwerk :) 5/5

  • What's the name of the song??

  • Kraftwerk - Radioaktivity

  • Takie piękne miasto, wielka szkoda, że tak się stało :/

  • i would like to visit chernobyl what a good place

  • Why visit this place? Do not you think the remnant radiation can affect you? It's a risk. Tell me, why did you go there?

  • Everything in life is a risk. The radiation I was exposed to is the same amount what you are exposed to at home by background radiation during 5 years. And I wanted to visit it as I remmeber when it happened and what effect it had on my life back in Sweden.

  • @Antizmannen

my father lifed just a few miles outside of Chernobyl and he said when they started evacuating the area the burns on people were horrendous (he has some pictures and some video) its just terrifying what happened.

  • @futurejarhead0311 send me them i wanna look :P

  • @mrbest20

my mother put them in a safety deposit box cause she doesnt want to loose them. if i ever get them ill put em up

  • @futurejarhead0311 oh okey

  • @Antizmannen true

  • Katastrofa Światowa i tyle

  • My sister in-law is from below there & said during that time many of their spices & other goods would come from that way. They avoided them but they were available. They didn't trust the public goods. The young man that took the photos in the film I posted his father was scared for him. Before he went there he protected his future children by banking his sperm pretty much. Very scary & so sad. I remember this like it was yesterday myself & Im from the US. If your young stay away 4 your future

  • wow COD modern warfare 1 did a good job on the chernobyl lvl

  • Good video . And how about thous 2 couples who lives there . what about food ? how do they live in winter . freezing cold I mean

  • The couples are old. Reason why they returned is that their whole life was invested in their house and land. they dont know anything else. They still grow their vegetables and live their life like they did before the accident.

And they have regular medical check ups.

Relatives are allowed to visit but not stay over.

  • man do people actually live there with radiation?

do teenagers go around vandalising it?

    whats it like now?

  • Yes, some people have returned to their villages.

Within the 10km zone there are 2 couples living.

It is not teenagers who are vandalizing but scavangers taking everything that they can sell and make money on, for example copper pipes.

  • man, thats wicked, thanks

  • i still wanna go there to see it myself but its kinda not cool and dramatic .. because there were kinda 50,000 people there living working.. and now all what its left is this a ghost town with nothing (Pripiyat) and still the anti radiation suits doesnt protect you 100% you still get some Plutonium or Uranium still good video man ;)

  • there is actually a risk of a second explosion soon to happen right?

  • No, there is no such risk..

  • you sure, i saw it on a documentry about if the leftover radioactive stuff eats its way to the water below or something it will blow.

  • there are a lot of misinformation and also pure lies in several documentaries. There are some facts that are left out as well. My advice is notto believe everything you see on the TV but to make your own research from several sources and draw your own conclusions.

Only reason why Chernobyl became so famous is the fact that the accident happened. There have been several incidents before this for example Sellafield or Harrisburg.

  • Yes there a risk sarkofag can collaps

  • I heard the risk of a second explosion is because the roof is in realy bad shape and if it collapses it could cause another cloud of radioactivity. Can't be that dangerous if they're letting people visit, I guess...

  • i want to go there to :D its so beautiful too see it but its also sad for the people who lives there they must let everything behind there but are there still people working there? (in the power plant or they shut it down in 2000)?

  • Yes, there are still people working at the powerplant even though it has been shut down. All the brunt out fuel must be kept somewhere. So far no solution have been found.

  • You visited chernobyl??

    Why did you it?

    Wasn't it dangerous?

    Good video ;))

  • Yes I was there.. i did it because I remember when it happened as a kid and I wanted to see it myself. Everything in life is dangerous. Even when you walk on the street you could be hit by a car ;)

  • hahahahahahaha nice one 2012GreenGhost420

  • It's very nice over there why because: I have a friend how lives in rusia and told me at the Chernobyl ( Chernobal) night the roads are green so.... in my vacation i know where to go ( PS: i'm from Romania)

  • not true but a nice thought

  • This is what happens when you have a bunch of drunks who have worked 22 hours straight and decide :hey lets to a new test and turn off all safety systems...?! yeah great Idea... dumbasses

  • Not really accurate. Please read up on things first..

  • @2012GreenGhost420 err i think they had like 20emergency systems or or something..

  • A desolate place now, which, despite, but thanks to the disaster, a beautiful peaceful area.

I'd like to visit the place, just for the silence and creepiness. It's a step into history: almost everyhing is left untouched.

Could you imagine the village or city you live in to be like that in 20 years, then coming back to visit and see everything just as it were? That must be most beautiful!

  • I'd like to visit there also for its eerieness and its historical value. It has stayed almost the same as 23 years ago, when it was still a part of soviet union. It would be nice if I get the chance to see the soviet past in real life.

  • are you dumb. tyou just want to go and visit because you think its cool the fact that people died there. it still has radiation. thats why its still abandon to this day. god people. its just best if you stay away from that place trust me

  • you can still go there. theres tour information about what to do so you dont suffer harmful radiation. and yes it is cool, such historical value, and pripyat is the largest abanddoned city. its a photgographers and adventurists dream come true. you can still have respect for the people that suffered from the catastrophy. so chill out.

  • theres fuck all left m8 just rubble nower days

  • OMG!!!!

  • OMG!!! Ther is gnna be radiation ther 4 250,000 more years!!!! Omfg idk how the f'd up but they did big time.

  • This is so stupid 1st the whole parts are from the movie 2nd you can't go 30 kilometres near chernobyl 3rd this is freaking stupid so much for the good movies of Discovery,NationalGeographic and more and you are ruining everything with this stupid video ... and you should be dead by now if you really went to chernobyl .....

  • 1) some parts are taken from various sources, I mean, I wasn´t there in the 80s.

most part of it is from my videocamera

    2) first exclustion zone is 30km, this is where you have the town of Chornobol. The inner zone is 10km and this is where you have Pripyat and the powerplant.

3)Im still alive and well even though it have been 6months since I was there. people are still working in the powerplant which shut down the last reactor of Chornobol in 2000.

  • Next time I suggest you make some proper research before commenting and showing your lack of knowledge ;)

  • you can go to chernobyl, they give you an anti radiation suit that protects you

  • yeah you can go into the actual powerplant, which is where you need the suit. other than tha, as long as you pay attention to your geiger counter, you'll be fine.

  • i wish i could viset urkrane

  • That was an excellent production !

So much for nuclear power..... Thanks for posting.

  • how its name of song??

  • Kraftwerk - Radioaktivität

  • kedy uplne zmizne rádioaktivita v chernobyle?

  • asi 25.000 roků

  • antizmannen wasent norway who got the most radioactive downfall after the sovietunion, im not relly sure. it could also be sweden and then norway. (anyway greatest chernobyl film on youtube ^^)

  • It was Sweden, the area of Gävle got the most downfall.

  • were u able to go into the actual powerpalnt or reactor 4? or was there to mcuh radiation or u just didnt go

  • You are not allowed to go into the reaktor.

Closest distance you can get is about 100-150m from number 4

  • you cant! it had a huge metal casing covering the entire reactor 4!

  • no it's concoreat and its falling down.

  • i understand you now..ok..be careful then..

  • were u aloud to touch any thign such as debreee or thos elittle bumper cars? or that newspaper or any books or somthign u found?

  • They tell you not to do it. However I could have done it if I wanted to as the security wasnt that rigorous

  • ooohh its sad what happened to those people though ide liek to go there one day sadly only 13 XD

  • wtf have u done there man?

  • Since Im from Sweden which is the country outside former Soviet who had the most downfall, I remember that I suddenly werent allowed to play at certain places and eat certain things. It is kind of hard to understand as a 8 year old. So I have always been curious about the place. And Im going back next zear to photograph more

  • but still doesnt chernobyl have alot of radation still

  • Yes.. However thr radiation levels are different in different places in the area

  • yea but u can stay there for a certain time and not be harmed stay for a while near the reactor u whill die from radiation sickness

  • Please read up on radiation first.

People are still working in the power plant and have done so for years.

My guide have done the tours for 8 years and is still alive and in physical health.

You can taste radiation in your mouth after a while.

  • i thought you couldnt go into the buildings?

  • It is still possible... however the buildings are getting into such bad shape that the authorities will close them off soon.

  • 3:13 is in call fo duty 4 :P

  • Amazing. I cannot wait untill I go
