Use the Lunar Staff and attack him from under water and stay at him this Boss is pretty simple. It is fun to jump on his back and run up his neck and kill him but if he's pissin' you off and you just want to get passed him just shred him from below with the staff.

The first epic fail was falling from the platform, with all the arrows charged you can take about 3/4 of the boss health, especially useful in path of the mentor or path of the master ninja, and you could kill it without the use of ninpos or herbs, just two strong hits after all the arrows successfully hit the dragon's head and a quick obliteration to finish the fight

No offence to anyone but my "personal" preference is that DMC is even possible if u button bash, u get all the cool looking combos n all but in ninja gaiden2 you'll only hit one combo for button bashing i.e. FAIL COMBO....

@Smoktan thats because this game forces you to learn actual combos and pull them off properly. as far as hitting the buttons go, DMC may have easier combos to pull off, but NG blows it out of the ball park when it comes to what they actually like.

If only people would stop comparing this to Devil May Cry there would be more peace on this site. DMC is so easy that the only challenge (if that) in those games is earning an S ranking or two. Other than that it's just tedious kindergarden stuff compared to the franchise called Ninja Gaiden.

all these bosses have a finisher, where ryu will finish the fight instantly like if you were fighting a person i can get them down in the beggining and finish the fight before it starts, i tell you what though useing the twin swords on this boss is suicide for some reason they dont do alot of damage against it.

This was retardedly easy and I'm on the hardest difficulty. And you can in fact chuck arrows at him all day, don't listen to the comment that is a couple below me, or at least I was able to. If you stand where you start the battle he only has two attacks that he throws at you. And they are both able to be dodged. Very easy boss.

WOW PEOPLE I JUST BEAT HIM IN 20 SECONDS WITHOUT BEING HIT ON WARRIOR!! Might have been lucky but basically I equipped Falcon's Talons, ran on the water towards his head as soon as I could, and started d to attack him. Because all the hits were on his head (he was doing the attack when he places his head on the surface of the water, not in the air), he took massive damage, and because FT are so fast, within 20 seconds it ended with an OT. I just kept pressing Y all along :-) SWEET

One secret tip to beat this guy faster if you have this weapon already. Use the Scythe and do a full charge then release the attack this boss on the platform. Keep on repeating the same thing and you wll win. That is all.

last time i did this fight i fell into the water by accident and had no time to get back onto the rock so i ran around and dodged til he put his head down (almost into the water) and used the spear gun on his head, and on the ghost fish he summons. more of a hassle, but thats a good way to do it if u fall in.

My strategy ... walk on the water , evade his strange bolts. After he has thrown a wave at you move to his head and do X-X-Y-wait until you are in the air then -X-X-X-X-wait a sec-Y ( with dragons claw and tigers fang )

What I did here was this dudes 1st approach, I stuck like a dozen arrows in this freak's head... Welll, that's pretty much it, I just dodged and shoot, it was much more easier than having to come up close, but for people who like hand to hand combat, that's also a good approach... :)

The safest way still seems to be staying on that one platform and fire charged arrows. You take some damage but much less than in the water and no ninpos needed.

Doesn't feel like the way you're supposed to be doing it but then again killing bosses with arrows in this game never did.

Uhhhh in the PS3 version u don't have to running on the water for fight him all u need to do is just stand the ground and keep spamming the cannon (new weapon) and yes that cannon has INFINITE AMMO but make sure to dodge all these attacks and watch out those unexpected returning these pests ghost pirahas keep beating using viggorian flails just like first ng -_- and is too easy!
