  • Appreciate this grt piece of work.

Also saw in WiKi that this film got various awards at International level. But wonder why this is not available to Indian audience... why the makers are mean to attain glory & ignoring Indian audience. It is not fair at all. Hope makers r listening..same is the story with other such movie. NOT FAIR

  • Even in this small piece one can feel the genius of Girija Devi's mature singing. Indian

music is so deep and vast. What an ancient and rich form of art we inherit. Makes me feel so proud and happy.

  • this is not Girija Devi, in the movie, the singer is called Karuna Devi, the real singer who sings (the older one)is Shanti Hiranand, disciple of Begum Akhtar

  • I was refering to the older one as well. Thanks for correcting my mistake. No wonder if Shanti Hiranand is a disciple of Begum Akhtar. What an accomplished voice.Never heard her before. Her voice is so much like Girija Devi. Where can I get her music?

  • you're welcome. I am a great admirer of Girija Devi and learn myself purab ang ki thumri from Banaras, you are right in the sense that the use of the voice is different from the type of voices you can presently hear in Hindustani music and they both specialized in semiclassical music. I don't have myself recording of Shanti Hiranand, but if you google for her you can purchase something online, I'm sure.

  • very nice one

  • jkj

  • La chanson est magnifique, le film aussi. Je l'ai perdu.Quelqu'un sait-il où il se vend ?

Beautiful movie but I've lost it. Someone is knowing where I can buy it ?

  • this is my favourite movie of all times, I've watched it over and over again but I've lost my VHS of it and I was looking for the DVD. If anyone can tell me where to find it I'll be grateful too!

  • hot kitu

  • she is an excellent singer, and the tanbura lady on her left with red saari she is beautiful.

  • what a might of India´s culture! Love it!

  • very good movie.

I enjoy a lot the moment when the little girl put on herself woman's saree

  • Moving. Mother though elderly seemsa more appealing

  • A very poignant movie, very interesting to see such a film. About mother-daughter relationship seems touching.

This film will be worth watching as a soft weepy, but as a wholesome movie.

  • the best female voice i ever heard
