The judges heard that Boris was already a Michael Jackson fan when he was little. The first judge had high expectations because of that, but according to him Boris let him down. But, as he said, that is a compliment, because that meant that Boris developed a sound of his own, and not just copy Michael Jackson. The second judge said that when he heard Boris was such a huge fan, he was afraid Boris was gonna turn it into a karaoke-show. According to the judge, he did at first, but

but as he sung along, he made the song his own, and gave his own sound to it. He said Boris is a real star, because when the judge closed his eyes, he could hear Boris's own sound, not Michael Jackson's. And that's why he is such a talent.

Sorry for the long reply, but being a Dutch girl and all, I'm kind of proud of him! :) Of all the Idol-finalists we've had, he was the one who truly earned it. From the moment he auditioned, we knew he would win. He's just awesome!
