in finland when getting a permission for a gun u must state the purpose of that gun you can only have it if the reason is hunting, job or if ur participate in shooting as a sport. in america it's possible to get a gun without this type of reason. also in finland most of the guns are such that suite for hunting, in america most of them are small hand guns, so it's sorta obvious what they'll be used for

Ever notice how the "killer cowards" always attack people and focus on places where they know people are unarmed? My state allows conceal carry and thank God. Recently, on I95 McDonalds a young woman was saved from rape or maybe murder by a good citizen and his concealed firearm. Cops are good, but they always seem to show up after the fact. Well. These shooters have both idolized the US school killers. So in someway it does affect.
The retarted part comes from the fact that your school system sucks alot compared to european ones. The stereotypical "hate" comes from the picture your goverment gives of you. Well, the shooter killed himself, so it's very hard for the public to demand any harsher punishment... but yes, Finland tightened it's gun laws (at least it planned so). The public here demands harsher punishment for criminals in general, but I don't think our governmet takes these demands seriously... which it should do.
