Great video. (I love this movie) It is in my Top 10 favorites of all time. I only wish you kept it going a minute longer.Capt.Glovals speech announcing a peace. He mentions a date ( 9/11/20?? ).
I thought that was just an weird/odd thing with this movie that was made in 1984. That the twin Towers on SDF-1 are destroyed on a 9/11 date.
No connection,Just a weird thing I noticed a few years ago I thought I'd point out. But, Yes,I am one of those people.I do believe It was an inside job.
@Gorgo Wow, even tough SDF1-Macross' doesn't have "Twin Towers" (those are actually it's main gun cannons) the date analogy is quite impressive. Seems like a 9/11 date is fatal anywhere, just google for
For those who want to know, robocrap is a shit ripoff of 3 anime TV series including the ORIGINAL MACROSS (therefore the REAL deal). robotech (aka roboshit for anime fans) is a story adapted with edited content and revised dialogue from the animation of three different mecha anime series: The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada.

i think everybody who gives a shit already know that. the fact remains that there would be NO macross here with out robotech having preceeded it. give a little goddamn credit guy.
yes but very well known that they had copy rights from the creators and the creator wanted to see it so it is why they made robotech again its is own seris and is why the 2nd and 3rd sagas for robotech arent near the macross story i mean if the creator loved it wh ycant anyone else i mean i still think macross dyrl is way better then robotech but i dont see why people have to bash it ... lol americans wanted to try it out and see if they could be as good as jap animators
I wonder if Studio Nue will ever release a Zentradi to Japanese (which will be translated into English by fans) dictionary. It might become the equivalent to Klingon among anime fans. Ah, Deculture!
kakazaki was talking shit and so he got blasted in the face....lol Keep your eyes on your opponent. Still this was godlike quality and the pieces comming off of his flamming plane as he crashed into the sea was classic. This was the best batle seen in the movie. Max was a real genius.
K00ltube, the video quality here is astounding. What is the original source? Which dvd or blu-ray version release was this captured from? Please point me in the right direction. I love Macross: DYRL, always have since I watched it first on ultra-crappy 5th generation VHS 23 years ago. Thanks...
Robotech and Macross are completely different shows. Robotech is the forerunner to what 4kids does to anime series that they manage to get their hands on.
You shouldn't attribute Robotech names to a Macross movie. They have two completely separate backstories and continuities. For example, in Robotech, Protoculture is a power source, but in Macross it's an ancient alien civilization. If it's a Harmony Gold production, then by all means, used those names. But this is a Studio Nue production and it's subtitled in Japanese. You should use the original names in the Japanese version.
2:03 That airlock scene is the mecha equivalent to a knife fight in a phone booth!!!!

Robotech had a better plot than those worthless anime series did.

Does that fragment of Do you remember love song exist?
Or was only for that scene?
Alfadore 6 months ago
I dont think the Meltraedi retreated here because of the Song. They retreated because they were outnumbered... about 5.000.000 to 1! :O

At 1:11 the airbrake lid flings open.
And it's really cool to see after 2:13 the wings of the Valkryie Max in suddenly already broken off by rolling on the corridor.

I always wondered why the Zendradi ships had an organic look to them on the inside while the Meltrandi were technological looking inside.
RigTig16 2 years ago
Hmm, good point. I guess Zentradi and Meltradi had a different taste in ship interior design.
