They're about 7" the ikku ryu are a little bit longer and thicker.
It just has to do with habit, everyone has his own favorite shuriken, in my case it's shirai ryu, because those were the first bo shuriken I got to use.
Look at all my shuriken, so many different ones, and they all feel different when I throw them. The more you throw with a certain type, the better you learn to throw it. I can throw some better than other, but it also has a lot to do with what shuriken you prefer.
Not bad ! You might want to work on two little things:
Try not to lean so far over, that is, keep your back straight. And take a smaller step with the front foot, you know, let your knees generate the power instead of just your upper body.
I'm not sure about this, at these types of longer ranges I really need to lean forward. It's at short range that you barely have to lean forward, long and short range are very different things.
We all have our own style of throwing. Besides that we all have a different body, in my case I got quite a lot of muscles and I'm quite large, so I don't throw like most shuriken throwers.
I am 6'2", 250 pounds. You are leaning forward to compensate for the distance ( a naural reaction we all have) You just have to brush longer during the release. When you lean over too much, you keep your muscles from being able to work right. You said this was MSR throwing, and I'm trying to help you with MSR style.
I don't like showing off my skills, but denying them wouldn't be good either.
Shuriken throwing is a bit an expression of the soul. It makes me feel good and I love doing it. I do it for my own sake.
Now I just chose to show it to other on youtube, that just a bonus, but it's not the main point.
I'm no hater, I don't really have a reason to hate you. I don't fully accept what you're doing though, but I never felt that you were such a bad person.
well unlike what zexeru says...your throwing is just fine.. the ONLY issue i have is how you stick to the form.. although i know you can throw well (ive seen your other videos) its seems sometimes like your unrelaxed ya know what i mean.. but great distance on those throws... what was that, like 40 feet? either way, thats great distance for bo shuriken considering that they were only ment to be used up to 30. and i agree, if you throw it, and it sticks in perfectly. then your technique's fine
we all have our own personal throwing styles, i can't throw like a normal person
my throwing is also different whenever i've done some fitness or not have a very hard time believing anything zexeru says, since unlike you he hasn't shown any shuriken throwing
im petty surehe has nevereven thrown shuriken untill now
the flame is too faar from wood to cause real damage !
the wood dosent ignite !
and in the old days ninjas used other things to set fire on houses ! like bombs perhaps?
i'm not much of a show man . i take martial arts seriosly , i'm learnig just to defend myself and those dear to me !
but the way you insult other proves that you have much to learn ! and perhaps i'm crossing a dificult time , because i gave your insult some atension ! usualy i ignore things like that !
what is the length of the shurikens that your throwing i made 6 inch ones and cant throw them worth a damn but 8 inch i can throw

Looking good, though...keep going!

I just want to entertaim, not really the point of sharing or teach.
Yes I have no talent, I should really believe you and I shouldn't believe other skilled thrower or the sensei I know.
I'm not sucking up to anyone, I just can't stand frauds like you or choson. If Dean wasn't on youtube I 'd still be doing what I'm doing.

yeah I take martail arts seriously too, and I only go to real dojos, not online youtube dojos.
There's no need to insult eachother or whatever. If it was up to me I would prefer just having some fun on youtube.
You don't always have to focus on my critisism, you can also just consider my shuriken throwing....
The wood doesn't ignite simply because it's wet lol, but it did burn a bit.

Post videos to confirm what you're saying.
btw there's a big diference between throwing at soft paper target and throwing at just wood.
Okay mister expert, why exactly is my throwing bad? I'd like to know more about this.
You throw a shuriken...it sticks in perfectly...now that's just so wrong?
