Not as bad as I thought it would be. He does, however, use the "negative lyric version". In case you have never realized it, it is sung by The Bee Gees with both "the day I kissed your cheek and you were gone" and "the day I kissed your cheek and you were mine". I prefer the "mine" version...
I found this album 10 to 23 probably in the early eighties at some old, dusty used book & record store. This was when I used walk all over Manhattan, especially on the weekends during the summer. I lived in a room at a place called the Lincoln Hotel on W. 72nd St. It was a lot of fun. There would be Block Parties where everyone would sell all kinds of different stuff. I used to perch on top of a ladder and yell "Handbags" and "Ladies Purses" and all the beautiful woman would come to see.
yes this brings back the old memories... and jose i love his voice, it does make you really feel what love is... and i've missed those younger years...
Ah yes, this song by Jose reminds me so much of the days that I was in my middle 20's with a young daughter. Life was good, and it was great to be a young adult. It was a time when the feeling that life would go on forever. I went to bed one evening at the tender age of 26, and awoke to find I was 65 years old. What happen?
Well my friend, I would say "life" happened and "life experience" too. Time does move quickly so that's why we should embrace it all and do all that makes us feel good. Jose gives me that same feeling.
he also has recorded in the same album a great version of "Gotta Get a message to You" and in another album before "And The Sun Will Shine" and "Marley Purt Drive" ever from by BeeGees
You made my night with this song. Thank you so much. I need to find a copy of that album, I had it when I was in Jamaica but not anymore. It brings back such great memories.
That 1969 great album 10to23 is just now for finally released completely in cd for first time in America, you can find it at amazon and is released in a double pack with the next great Feliciano album from 1970 "Fireworks": probably these two are the most beautifull english album of Jose, just his latest 1008 Soundtrax of My Life,
This version is absolutely fantastic, Jose give here a new dimension of the song

Makes me think of old loves, lost in time... (A person gets in these moods sometimes when they've been alive a while)

Wasn't "Miss Otis Regrets" also written by Barry Gibb? Did the BG's ever play it?

Miss Otis Regrets is a Cole Porter tune from the mid-1930s
