  • im glad that you got the tort, but looks like in this video, your tortoise has horrible pyramiding. you can fix this by just getting him in the sun, and more helpful rays. just trying to help. i have the same tortoise.

  • pyramiding=bad

  • That is fucking awesome dude:D

  • I own a 17 year old Sulcata named Lenny. He grazes in our backyard in Northern California in the town of Vacaville. He weighs 108 lbs and is about 28 in long measured across the plastron. The reptile vet at UC Davis said that a mixture of about 75% hay (not alfalfa) and grass with the rest going to some greens like kale and lettuce with an occasional treat of fruit is the correct diet. He passed his physical with flying colors. At 4 Lenny weighed 25 lbs. so I hope you have a yard.

  • at a year old you can have a shelter out side you know? my friend in a breeder of spurred tortises and has a one year old out side but with a dog house for a home.

  • i see the pyramid on your tortoise

  • Great video. I love Sulcata's

    0:27--:36 whats the song called?

  • i just started watching ur videos i think there really informational and about this video um i have a russian tortise u know how russian tortises come from like asia and my tortise is from turkey but yea i like ur tortise and i think he is cool so well i'm looking at buying a leopard gecko and i hope you can give me some like information on its habitat if you can thanks

  • @drego1999 Thank you very much. Leopard geckos are quite a hardy species of gecko. Really easy to care for any handleable. I would do some extensive research before you buy one though just to make sure you are prepared to take care of one correctly.

  • @Reptileguy92 ok well thanks for the information

  • Wow, awesome vid!

  • awesome vid!!! really cool tort! nice care tips too!

  • this is preety cool great setup to

  • Aw Look like he's shy. Male? or Female? Russian tortoise correct?

  • He's a male sulcata tortoise.

  • Nice Sulcata, what do you plan on doing with him when he's 200lbs? New York gets pretty cold, lol.

One of my favourite kinds of torts for sure.

Try not to feed too much Timothy hay, people actually get it around backwards sometimes. Too much fiber can be detromental.

  • Collard greens is actually best, like celery, dandelion and carrot. Check into Mazuri tortoise chow as well, it's good stuff

  • Hey thanks Rainey for the advice. Yeah I try not to feed Timothy hay to him all the time now because I noticed that he doesn't really like it. I plan to house him outside for the summer when he gets big and bring him in for the winter.

  • Great vid man,and sweet tortoise

  • he is adorable. I had seriously thought about getting one but 200lbs is a big animal and I read you have to build them a pen and extend the fences or barrier up to 2 ft underground because they are prone to digging......good luck with yours!

  • Yeah they do get big but I want to keep him forever so it should all work out in someway or form.

  • what state do you live in ???

  • you seen to be getting more confident infront of the camera (:

  • haha thanks. I didn't notice :).

  • Really awesome additon! he's cute! My friend has 2 sulcatas, we can't wait until they get bigger. Nice enclsoure 5*
