i have a uriah heep cover band ...we only use brass instuments like tuba for bass ...we are called " COMPOST HEEP " ...look out for us in your town ...we like backyard gigs best .
Don't 'cha just love these people who think Heep should restrain themselves to one style of music? The chorus is a little weak, but otherwise this is a LOT of fun! Somebody says there was a version with a BETTER bass line? Man, I'd like to hear that!
I went out & bought this album when I saw this video in '85. Damn good album from a new Uriah line-up. Yes, Goalby definitely an awesome vocalist, replacing John Lawton & the original voice David Byron, who died shortly after this came out.
Note: the video shows Trevor Bolder on bass, but that's
actually Bob Daisley's bass playing on the recording.
Daisley quit Heep to return to Ozzy's band, because Rudy Sarzo [the guy Ozzy fired Bob in favor of] couldn't write songs. So Ozzy had to call back Bob to write Bark At The Moon [uncredited] and plenty more.
I know the songwriter of this song. Used to record with him back 1982/1983. The demo of the song was fantastic. But Uriah Heep messed it up or better said, the bass player just hadn't the feeling for the bass line. Just doesn't grooves. But great song in the original version.

That's Trevor Bolder on Bass....PLAYING AN EXPLORER BASS????.....I thought he played nothing but Fender P Basses?....oh well. This is a little different for Uriah Heep though.
Is that Trevor Bolder on bass? I thought that Bob Daisley was on Head First, and that sound like his stuff. Or did he just leave before they made this video?
GREAT ADDITION!! Been waiting for someone to add this video, can't believe it took until Aug 2007...anyway, great song, GREAT bassline, cool video except for the ultra-goofy dancers. The Goalby era is wildly underrated, great stuff.
Ha - there's quite a few video clips from around 84/85 that look a lot like this - basically all inspired by Mad Max.

Indeed the baddest bass-line of the era, Listening to it on my ipod I hear things that I did'nt hear back in the day! Awesome song.

Great rock song- but why this shit 80s video style? I know everybody was doing that then to feed MTV moguls with hard earned bands money

A silly, yet still enjoyable, video of a good song by the Peter Goalby-era Uriah Heep. Goalby is simply a great, albeit underrated, vocalist.
