THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER...SO F-N DEEP & MEANINGFUL !! MY OLD BOYFRIEND BERT USED TO SING THIS TO ME ENDLESSLY ..THAT'S TRULY THE ONLY REASON I EVER STUCK WITH THE DOG.....
I'm a rocker, but I can't help liking this song. Unfortunately, now Dan Peek is in rock & roll heaven. Here's to all you muskrats out there. Keep loving life!
Para ti Emilia.....Me obsequiaste el LP Hat Trick por nuestra canción :Muskrat love..aun conservo la portada...sólo la portada y en el corazón tu recuerdo, Emilia..mi novia de hace tantos años! ...tuyo siempre Rafael.
Of course I love this, but I believe had they changed the title, subject matter, and lyrics, it could have been one of the most epic and respected pop songs ever. The problem is, on the one hand you might perceive it as pornographic and sleazy, on the other hand as a childish and "Disney-like" production. Neither extreme works for me. A song with a melody this good should be taken seriously and appreciated, and not defamed as a joke.
oh yea i misss my work on board these are those song i played on radio anybody there who will lend me the lyrics of these song please appreciate it much thank you
oh yea i misss my work on board these are those song i played on radio anybody thyere hu will lend me the lyrics of these song please appreciate it lol
@kingofallwhites Your missing the point. When a song is written about two rats flirting and making out together, you know you've reached a new low point in your life. Fucking gay.
For years I thought this song was a novelty or a joke. But the more I investigate and listen to the various versions including the original Willis Alan Ramsey version, the more obvious it is that this was a straight-faced, serious song.
This only confirms my suspicion that I was born in the wrong decade. The drugs they were on back then must have been some fucking potent shit if everyone's gourds were too scrambled to even consider rolling on the floor laughing when this song came on the radio.
I've been a Willis Alan Ramsey for too many years to count, but I only found this cover today. Love that they kept the harmonies (and bass) like WAR wrote them. This is really a pretty cover.
This song was on their "Hat Trick" album released in 1973. It wasn't a very big hit single for them, although their version is a 100 times better than Captain & Tennile's version which was released in 1975.
This song is gr8 live! So much better than Captain & Tennille's version. My boyfriend thought it was a whole different song-LOL! Thanks for sharing this one!
Thanks for posting this..I hope to play this song in their live set some more. This was the song that put me "on" to the sound of America...I still play and love their music. Kia ora from Hastings New Zealand.
I want this video on my ATRIX phone.

They put a lot of today's bands to shame.....to call themselves musicians, even those Grammy awardees, yup, even them.

Not only is this one better than captain and tennille's but it came first. So they started it, and the other guys finished it.

That's a scene from the 1996 Movie "My Fellow Americans" where one character quotes part of this song, much to the chagrin of another character.
