It is also revealed that Mark made this trap. The only reason why he wasn't let free is because Mark made it to be like that, for revenge.

Jigsaw didn't make the trap nor was he talking on the T.V. Hoffman made the trap and had access to an audio enhancement machine. It was his voice but it sounded like Jigsaw. Jigsaw's dead anways.

I'm getting a tad tired of people who do not seem to understand the ultimate goal of this trap--and thus, its ACTUAL creator.

Neither John nor Amanda created this trap; both are dead at this point. Hoffman, the third "Jigsaw" of the series created this trap to take revenge on the victim for the murder of his sister. Both Amanda and Hoffman have abused the power and tarnished John's original intent to test the survival instinct of a human in favor of murder since the traps are inescapable. :/

I know; maybe I should've worded that better lol. My meaning was that the back stories of the characters are not revealed in chronological order; we did not technically learn this information until after the known deaths of John and Amanda.

Hoffman makes this trap in the "style" of Jigsaw's games, and when John finds out about it, he captures Hoffman and uses this information to blackmail the detective into working with him long before the events of Saw III.

one thing about this trap is.. it says to smash your hands with the mengeme right? so when you do smash them you have 3 problems

First problem: your hands are smashed.. so you can't use keys or you can't do anything o.O

Second problem: how are you gonna get of the table since the giant metal thing will cut you right away if you move upwards ?

Third problem: how are you gonna remove the locks on your feet? :D
