  • Wheatleigh Hall, and ,,,,

  • Wow, what a great classic video! Thank you..

  • Saw them play both at the Heineken jazz festival 86 or 87 . . . amazing!

  • Wow!

  • Whereas I don't like such kind of bass-sound, do I love this rarest of all meetings: Dizzy & Sonny. Just great to see and hear them together. Thaks for posting this video. -- Okay, that's the way they recorded such groups in the 1980's. By the way: It's Rufus Reid, just for the record.

  • Rufus Reid and Mickey Roker have played together on a whole lot of gigs, as is obvious here.

  • Props for the rhythm section: Hank Jones, who along with Tommy Flanagan and Barry Harris kept bebop piano alive during the lean years; Rufus Reid, who really has played with everybody, and Mickey Roker, everybody's go-to drummer in Philadelphia. As may be obvious from this video, Reid and Roker did many, many gigs together.

  • I think this is called 'Weighland Hall' or something like that from the 'Eternal Triangle' session from 1957 also with Sonny Stitt. This CD is a must have!!!!

  • Diz is one of the all-time greats but I think Sonny did some of his best work with the late Clifford Brown.

  • Very good by buckshot.. about Hank Jones, what a pianist!

  • Double Wow! Sonny forces Dizzy to be less complacent than he - in all his greatness - usually is. And Hank Jones! IMO the most consistenly underrated pianist in modern jazz.

  • Go Diz!

  • Awesome....Thanks for posting
