I was in Spain... went to school then! Wasn't this around 1980? I was 12 by then. You got some airplay on indie radio stations and probably also on the Top 40 radio station (not a sales list but popularity chart), they played all kind of music then, not the crap they do now.
I remember seeing you on tv (maybe a vid? I can't remember well) but I do remember you were introduced by the host a girl who was dressed like a geisha or something along the line!
@brianjwallis - hi, I was married to Dave Powell for 12 years and used to love this song. I'm glad I've found it on Youtube and have pasted it on my Facebook profile. We were in a band together - we met when he was a dep drummer for us and ended up falling in love! Sadly we parted in 1998 but still keep in touch and he's now a successful photographer after suffering a brain haemorrage in 2000.
@Xiroi87 Not as far as I know. I don't think they gigged much so there wouldn't have been any footage taken. He was also involved with the surviving members of Badfinger and it seemed he spent many years on the verge of making it big in the biz but was unlucky. It wasn't for the want of trying as he was very driven and had talent. He's well known and respected amongst musicians in the Aylesbury area.
@buckland55 Thanks for the info. I know for a fact that they played on Spanish tv, it was lipsynch, of course, some kind of TOTP show. If I ever manage to get that vid, be certain I will be uploading it!
I know what you mean, talent is not everything in show biz, a fair amount of good luck is also needed. It's not about being the first or best, but also being in the right time in the right place.
Then there are those without talent who still make it, that's almost worse.
