  • same problem here

  • SMASH IT

  • HP Laptops tend to break after 2 years of using. They deliberately design it like that, to get some more cash in the future (cheap bastards, give us quality not a money drainer). My HP laptop keeps crashing because of overheating, needs a new battery, the charger broke, and now,it crashes more frequently, showing blobs of pixels like paint. Sometimes they also produce this weird sound which gets me frantic.

I simply don't like it anymore, I will never buy a HP laptop again.

  • I BOUGHT HP LAPTOP SOME TIME AGO AND IT ONLY LASTED 2 YEARS. THE GRAPHICS PROCESSOR CHIP THING BROKE A MONTH AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. HP SUCKS! What you need to do is throw this laptop in a container filled with gasoline and see what happens.

  • hp sucks crap thata why you should get a dell is the best i got a dell with windows xp and it was used and my hp mini just crashed thats why i hate hp and dell is so better

  • same problem with me i have the dv6000 they wont do nothing so have to get a new laptop

  • man, i got a same problem too, the only different is mine from bottom to top, not like urs, left and right, i really wonder how can i fix that?

  • Fuck HP!

  • i have HP cuz i were recomended to buy this piece of dick shit as a good gamer computer

its not 1 year old. been on service 1 time for crash..

and a few months after service this piece of shit goes on a freeze mode and FUCK EVERYTHING UP

  • never buy hp.

hp laptop reliability is consistently the worst among major brands

  • I think the reason the machine heats up is because it's a P4. : ( If you bought this in 2005, the turion would have used less power.

  • oh yea i think it's the graphics card at the back of the screen he said it was and a part in the motherboard went aswell

  • My hp pavillion dv2000 has display problems i took it to a computer person and he said i should get a new screen or else grab both top corners of my laptop screen and gently twist it till the screen doesnt freeze and i can actually see the things moving. if i dont move it the laptop just goes all lines and turns the whole screen different colours lately its been working perfectly though

  • i have an hp pavilion dv7 and it is indstructable its been throught alot and im on it right now

  • i have da hp compaq nx6110

  • You got Windows XP Plus! I know thats a Nature theme.

  • Hp is one pf the best companys, That might be your design on the baackgroud.

  • I also have a hp laptop that I bought 2 years ago, now whenever I press the power button it doesn't show the boot up screen and the led lights blinks a lot, even worse that it makes a lot of noise!!! Yeah very not reliable shit

  • i have a hp dv 9700 (on it now) so far my problem are trouble booting up from the power, wonky screen display with lines and my lightscribe drive WILL NOT read anything!!!! the damn pc dosent show a drive icon for it. I have to leave it on sleep mode just to use it and not spend 30 mins pressing the power button just to get it running. My old desktop though slow runs better than this and bought that one in 1998 plus I HATE VISTA ok im done if any help plz send a msg

  • Worst product I ever bought with either none or incompetent service even within the warranty period. BEWARE.

I have had the mother board replaced on warranty. I have had 3, yes 3 screens replaced on mine and all this within a 5 month period. Please don't tell me it's my handling of the computer. It's never been dropped and virtually always used at home. You can fry an egg on it it gets so hot. There are either inferior parts within the unit or it's simply a poor model.

  • If you want a laptop that can do everything, get a f*cking MacBook!!!!!!!!

  • @zane551 Ha. Define everything. Some people need laptops for more than facebook, photoshop, and porn.

  • Hp pc's are crappy

  • @TheViasKilla i accept. i bought a HP notebook 2 years ago, the display looks worse at all and the harddrive is dying.....and it hangs up all the time! i cleaned the inside cuz of dirt and it still stops working at after a while!

  • I have the same problem with the pavilion zd7350 - I have paid 1600€=2240$ this computer is Shit ! I stopped buying HP ! expensive Crap ! My small dell of 300$ works fantastic !

  • get a dell or a mac

  • @jro9001 mac is for homo's

  • I don't have a notebook. I am glad...

I just have a regular Acer.

  • SMASH IT! I headbutted my screen in anger.

  • I also had an HP pavillion and after 1 year I had to send it back to Hp they have to change the mother board.... after 2 years vertical line also appeared and I could hardly see the pictures..... my friend and causin also had the same HP model and we all had the same problem... I think its about time for HP to look into the problem.

  • it's not display........... it's graphics card problem.

  • Well , These hp laptops are poorly ningenerred. Go for it!!!!!

  • YESSSSSSSSS! Smash it with a hammer, and replace it with a Toshiba laptop. Toshiba screens don't have any problems:)

  • I love your Voice!!!!1 :D But im going to make a video on this soon. hopefully it will help.

  • SMASH IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • never buy Hp, never buy acer, never buy dell... never buy laptop, they're intentionally made horribly so we buy another every 6 months..

  • Oh my god dude. we have the same problem. and it showed up after the warranty expired and they said that it will take atleast 20000 pesos to repair damn!,. i should have gotten a lenovo

  • that is a video card problem, somehow overheated... get a vaio

  • Never buy hp anything, it took a couple times for me get that through my thick skull.

  • They have some shitty model and some ok ones. But really avoid it. get HP printers only. Look for other manufacturers when it comes to Notebooks and PCs.

  • Do you want me to DESTROY this laptop in one millon pieces with a HAMMER?

    Vote for it!!!!!! :-)

  • do you still have this laptop I would like to destroy it. Right now I'm mad with HP couse I found another laptop with the same problem and the laptop is a year old.

  • @jorgefdt hell ya!

  • The brand new HPs have been improved. Get the 2010 models and you'll be right. HP learnt all their mistakes by losing money

  • I was watching this on my 3 years old HP Pavilion dv6871us :P

  • Ughh. Happened to me. My laptop was like, less than a year old. Thankfully I still had warranty, so they fixed it. woooo. the lcd had this whole horizontaal line thing,t hen it suddenly started going up and down, until i can't understand what i'm typing. :| :( but anyway, hp is actually good. :) never crashed. :D

  • Once again HP sucks.Buy Lenovo dude.

  • i got an hp g60 and the screen is grey and blank...i turn it off and on and it gets horizontal lines...this is why i am getting a desktop with liquid cooling cause ive heard these things r caused by heating problems so nvr buy hp!!!

  • I have the same laptop... and the same problem.

Can you imagine working in this conditions with illustrator or photoshop with guides?! It´s a nightmare!!!!

  • not every... i had HP 500

It never crashed... its was very good laptop...i had it for 3 years... the only problem was: the batery was dead. but i replaced it

  • i have this problem too

  • asus all the way

  • @aharon401 YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING! That explains why HP Ink is so expensive...

  • ASUS RULES guarantee : 5 Years got it 2 years now Still works fine!!! Do not buy : ACER , HP PACKARD HELL , DELL AND OTHER FAKE SHIT.

  • when my hp dv2000 has a similar soldering problem, ive been HP free ever since

  • Just dont buy Hp ever again. AND throw what is now owning.

  • ig got a HP pavillion notebook about 3 weeks ago and from time to time it just crashes! i could be surfing the internet, on photoshop, word, playuing a game or on the screensaver and the screen freezes and/or goes blue and i have to force shut-down. then when i start it up again any work i didn't save is lost!!! I DID NOT PAY £630 FOR A LAPTOP JUST TO HAVE IT FREQUENTLY CRASH!! I NEED TO GET ON WITH MY WORK I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well everything is about quantity not quality(everything is)

  • If you would like to fix it, heres the solution.

Drop it in the toilet, piss on it, and give it a flush, then take a crap on it. It worked for me honest, give it a try thats all the dell guys do to fix it for you... at least it will be your own crap and piss you will be touching after its fixed :)

    The boo child.

  • i got hp notebooks zd8000 years now but 2 day now they starting monitor greeen display

  • My HP Mini can pwn your ass!

  • NICE INDIAN ACCENT

  • Dear Mark Hurd, now that you've resigned from HP as CEO, I can't mail this to your office, however, I do want you to know how I and many other customers of HP feel about your customer service, product support, and well.... ... your products. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to finally get my money's worth from your products..

    Thanks,

    an X-Customer

  • IT NOT just HP! my sisters dell did the same thing! and i have a hp pavilion dv2500 and it perfect! it might just be a user error!

  • I have a dv8k, and the screen frequently "sherberts" -- upon loading the OS, the screen fades to pastel streaks and whorls. I'm going to replace the motherboard (I *think* the video card is integrated) and see if that doesn't fix the problem. HP, of course, disclaims any responsibility, and claims it must have been something I did.

  • HP is a Hi-Tech company in the USA so it's not good.

The best Hi-Tech Companys are from Japan, Taiwan etc.

  • GET ACER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HP is the worst thing i hade, two laptops = two non working and the service... If you ask HP if they know what service is, they will anser: What is that?

  • jorgefdt is not a liar, My laptop is the same way!

  • I am having the same kind of problem, just worse... there are vertical lines flickerong though the entire screen, moving and all. You can't just see anything. You have to close the lid and open it again for it to leave, and sometimer that wont even help. It can happen as soon as your warranty expires, such a marvelous timing design from HP...

  • @mikerey809 YOU STUPID FUCK! ARE YOU ONE OF THOSE HP PEOPLE?! THEYRE NOT RAIN DROPS YOU MORON! ARE YOU FUCKIN BLIND?! YOURE NOT THAT SMART TO FIGURE THEYRE RAIN DROPS, CHECK YOUR EYES IN HOSPITOL YOU ASSHOLE, I HOPE YOUR PC WILL BLOW-UP SOON!

  • @ExtremeHardcoreGamer No theyre not rain drops, its so true, my laptop is HP PAVILLIUN TX 2000, but mine has black-out for bout 4-5 months, im using desktop's monitor now.

@mikerey809 YOU STUPID FUCK!

  • A vertical line appeared on mine two days ago. It's about four years old.I'm a lucky one .

  • I can relate. I had an HP laptop and I had those same vertical lines! The laptop was barely a year old! I had to get an external monitor for that laptop just so I can use it again cuz the issue was with the monitor. The cost of having the monitor fixed is almost the same price as just buying a new computer.

  • the vertical lines looks like rain drops...

  • Oh my god, why didn't I check out forums before buying my HP. I bought my pavilion dv because of its nice cutting and look for RM4000++, and after one week the hard drive crash. They changed the HD for me, but it gets over heated very quickly and auto shutdown alot. After a year's warranty the motherboard and harddrive crashed. I had to pay RM900 for replacement and now after a year since it gets overheaded again and the display turns blue and jammed up or restart all d time.. so sad.

  • my hp pavilion zd8000 now has 48 vertical lines :D

  • I just bought 2 laptops 3 months ago and i am very satisfy i will bye over and over again very good laptops and prints YES

  • yeah hp have nice designs but crap quality on everything else, on mine the mother board fried. fcuk you hp engineers

  • There is nothing wrong with your laptop.... change the background...

  • @mikerey809 it seems that you are both deaf and blind, the vertical lines are a result of the screen malfunctioning and the accent in the video is clearly Hispanic.

  • @mikerey809 I will not be able to sleep tonight... omg...

  • @jorgefdt So he's right? LOL

  • @mikerey809 Wow an hp fanboy. Really If you see more than 1 video on this problems from more than 1 youtube account, trust me it is not fake. This is usually caused by heat from a graphic's chip. He says the screen is gorgeous. That means the display probably has a high resolution. Because of the high resolution, the graphic's card has to work really hard pushing those pixels. Extreme heat can cause a graphics chip to fail, causing the display to be incorrectly rendered. It makes perfect sense.

  • @mikerey809 You asshole. I also have a HP Pavillion. Same problem. It also looks a lot like what he is showing, so don't be a f*cker and stop insulting b*tch.

  • @mikerey809 since your such an expert why don't you go work for NASA?? it is an accruing problem with these HP devices and he is not faking if you had done your research you would have noticed

  • @mikerey809 honestly

  • @mikerey809 dude... It goes on the task bar idiot, normal wallpaper can't do that can it?

  • @mikerey809 actually you are right

  • hp sucks my cousin bought this and it so over heated and when he tried to play world of warcraft his comeputer lagged so baddly my old Crappy$ 80$ computer runs better so we both got a new gaming computer never BUY HP

  • Nostradamus would say: "90% of the HP notebooks will have problems with the display after 2 years of bought (when the guarantee expires). And everyone who believes is safe, will not be. So, beware. You've been warned"

  • speak english

  • I had 2 HP laptops - both of which broke down. Also had HP iPAQ PDA and a few printers. Guess what? They all broke down.

Got a Samsung printer - works. Got a MacBook Pro - works like a charm. I even got an 8 y.o. PowerBook G4 - which works brilliantly.

Don't buy HP. Any product. Not just laptops.

  • I bought a HP G50 126nr 14 months ago and my display has horizontal lines with a screen flicker that causes the screen to be unviewable. I'm 2 months out of warranty and totally screwed. HP used to make good products, NOT any more. I will never buy another HP product.

  • This problem is due to dry jointing on the motherboard around the nvidia chipset, I have just repaired one of these, it requires removing the motherboard and using a quality flux with a heat gun on the area of the motherboard where the two nvidia chips are, this should solve the issue. This problem has probably been caused by led free solder.

  • i have the same problem, how can i repair it? do i need simply a new mainboard or do i need a new display in case of this problem?

  • All this crap at HP might be true for the older laptops but not for the newer. Atleast not for the one i bought :P

I bought a HP Compaq one year ago and its still works great.

So telling people not to buy HP products I think is a bit missleading.

  • I bought a HP compaq 10 months ago, it has one bright vertical line just like in the video.

It could just be a matter of time before your's has a problem too.

I'm about to try dealing with their warranty department now to get it fixed.

  • Well as long as you got warranty then you have nothing to worry about. :)

  • I hope so, will reply back if there is a problem.

  • @nyqa

The HP warranty department replaced the monitor of the laptop. We were lucky the problem came up before 12 months, though I won't be surprised if the new monitor fails in another 12 months.

  • HP Pavillion dv6000, the motherboard got fried after 3 months of use. This is the last thing im buying from them. My other sony laptop is 5 years old and still working fine.

  • how can we start a lawsuit action against HP? we should contact the press to announce and keeping hp under pressure. I guess millions of loyal hp customers are hit by this fraud.

  • Hp dv5 same problem.

    -_-

  • Shame!!! Don't go for a Sony or Dell next time, they have their flaws too, get an Asus, if anything goes wrong customer support is second to none, they will strive to get your problem sorted without you pumping loads more money into what you already paid for!

  • i have the same problem :| but its not HP. its TOSHIBA. :| and its horizontal lines. the screen is bouncing. and the lines are blinking up and down O_O

  • hplies(.)com

  • hp is the worst laptop manufacturer, just cant beleive how they keep getting money, all they did is add gloss paint to their laptop covers and everyone fell in love with them, but if you dig deep u'll be horrified, in my workshop I get 6 hp laptops daily beyond repair and only 1 or 2 of the rest of brands. imagine lets not buy anything hp so this bad company can just die or go to hell. "except its good business for us repair people"...

  • @reply4reply You are more than 100% correct, my friend. Don't buy HP ever again.

  • I have Hp pavillion dv9000 laptop 7 I'm facing the same problem. There's a vertical blue line on my display since few weeks ago.

I have bought my laptop last september. Now I'm looking for my warranty because I lost it.

    HP SUCKSSS!!!

  • its slowly dying, in few months it will just boot to black screen sell it asap before it dies.."gpu overheats"

  • my dv2600 just having whole screen square boxes, even in cmos page, n/book is just 1year old, just finish waranty, and the life's FINISH!! I advise my manymanymany friends DONOT think of HP.

  • yeah thats graphic related too, there is no other problems with hps except annoying wireless and bad graphic overheating....

  • Maybe you're lucky but maybe its a matter of time before your laptop brakes down too. Noone knows. And how are you supposed to know that it will brake down before you buy it? You choose to buy a brand and if that brand (HP) lets you down, you don't buy it again. End of story.

  • i bought mine hp for like 1500euros and it works like a charm ;) you just have to know which notebook to choose.

  • just dont buy those budget hp notebook ffs! go and buy hp business laptop - no problems at all...

  • its not a budget hp notebook! Its HP Pavilion!

  • ok, first of all you need to understand why hp business notebooks cost in some cases more than twice as much as pavillions. I will tell you why - few friends bought hp's - 2 pavilions and 2 compaqs. both pavilions are overheating, one already got broken. high glare screen both so you cant see sh1t. well ok - great notebook! yea! if you just look at it and its specs. for normal use - go get an lenovo or business hp

  • I have an HP Pavilion zd8000 with screen problems! I bought it back in 2005, 2000 euros or 2,860 us dollars! So it isn't a budget notebook! Next notebook Dell or Sony for sure!

  • Bad HP!

  • ive had this computer for atleast 2 years now.. maby even 3.. it does over heat.. no problems with the screen yet.. but i keep the battery out and have a book or two under it.. to keep some air flowing

  • ur review is soo funny, dude u should become a president and make the whole country laugh :)),

  • I heard HP are crap... thank god they make quality PC's here in Australia...

  • ILL CRUSH THOSE COCKAROACHES!

  • fucking same thing happen to my pavilion dv6000 hp sucks

  • Did you ever fix it?

  • join my HP LAPTOP SUCKS on Facebook!

  • does that include compaq

  • omg man , same thing happened to me

  • Yep, I have the same problem! This HP heats up like a mofo. It is one of the worst laptops I have owned. And like you said.. the out-sourced support is even worse. SAY NO TO HP!!!

  • get a cooler pad and beover with i have a compaq it works great its 3 yrs old

  • Same thing happened to my 4-year-old zd8000 a few weeks ago...it lasted a few hours, went away, then came back for about a day. Went away and has stayed good...there's always hope.

  • I think it's probably only a matter of time before it comes back with a vengence.. sorry. I have noticed with mine that the very first line to appear has gone but has been replaced with about 30 other ones in different places. I want to know why that one line has decided to fix itself! Did you do anything (e.g. reinstall anything) that made your lines go or was it just one of those 'magic' self fixing thingies??

  • This happened to me just recently, i have Pavillion DV6000t and at 1st it was one line really thin i didnt really notice cuz it went away wen it would on a white page or sumthing bt then after that more started 2 appear so i called in and i send in my notebook n they fixed...i love HP bt i can see y u would be mad also

  • same thing happen to my HP LAPTOP.. so by desktop instead.. lol..

  • Due to age of the pavilion (2005), the laptop won't be covered by any HP warranty. And HP aren't liable since it isn't guaranteed for the extended time of over 4 years.

My touch pad is also faulty which requires using a usb mouse.

I won't recommend HP to anybody, imagine if they had developed the same/similar panel for LCD TV's?

  • The bottom left of my pavilion display has a dark opaque patch which has increased in size. It now covers my start icon and extends up to 10cm.

I'm afarid it will get worse, however I'll try to route the cause and take any precautions.

Luckily I purchased the ZD8000 on ebay for 100GBP which originally had a faultless display. The power cord is loose or the Laptop connection faulty which requires constant adjustments of the cord to bring the power off battery and onto AC.

  • the same thing happened to my fiancee, several people should get together and sue them , they don't want to take responsibility for it, but they did make thousands selling rubbish .

  • the same thing happened to my fiancee.

several people should get together and sue them,

they made million selling crap and don't want to take responsibility.

  • That's exactly right! Poor engineering on all of HP's and Compaq's laptops will indeed leave you with useless brick sooner or later. My 2 year old DV9000 is now a $1200 useless brick and it never even left home or was abused. Steer clear of HP and Compaq.

  • you think that is bad my mac book pro battry has died i buy 2 chergers for it the hard drive deletes all my shit and it burns my lap so bad its gone red for 2 days 3 hours of mac gaming 3

    of ice

  • Buy an Acer!

  • i have an acer and the same thing happend to me

  • Oops... DON'T buy an Acer!!!

My Acer laptop failed 6 weeks ago... u.u

And now I have a Dell Inspiron ;)

  • Haha - can i join the club - i only have 16 lines on my zd8290ea. Also the battery died over a year ago, am on the second charger, the touchpad buttons dont work, it overheats doing anything moderatly challenging (3 or 4 web pages on a warm day) & turns itself off, i had the randon missing letters when typing for about a month then it recovered from that at least :).....

But after three years of hard work its still going (just) & the best spec replacment i could find for my needs was an Hp....

  • Had my HDX 9310 for a little while now & am well pleased. Powerful, silent, amazing screen.....& an extended warantee & insurance to cover it all :)

  • thats notting mate buy there new shitee product...... there even worst then the old models they have grapic problems speaker problem wirecard problems motherboard fucking up overheating problem i have the dv5 and i had problems with the piss crap ever seens i got it from day one there a piss shit so yeh people if ur new to this product im telling u now dont buy a hp there shit ......

  • i got an hp my screen shuts off randomly when i fullscreen youtube videos... i even tried changing the settings to keep the screen always on but nothing -_-'

Haven't had lines yet(had for a few months).

Besides the screen issue and the volume OSD slowing down/freezing the computer(which i fixed thru a forum i found online). If u have the Volume issue just search run, type msconfig, and uncheck the osd for the buttons...dont mess with the other stuf

    Vista64bit

    Otherwise really good computer :D

  • omg..

i have an hp laptop too .. its great !

this could happen to anyone !

  • agree,HP and their Indian call centre...........can cause heart attacks!

  • I bought my laptop one year and seven months ago and already has a vertical yellow line in the right side of the screen >:(

  • ya my screen went black i called hp and all they tried to do was sell me stuff which was very annoying, 100$ for a diagnosis over the phone?? come on now. I just hung up. I think its the graphics card if anyone fixed this problem let me know plz.

  • hey thats why im here i got a laptop pavilion dv 6000 when i go on youtube and full screen it the screen goes black and wont turn back on sometimes pushing "sleep" and waking it up will fix it(not always) and when it comes back says "Display driver" issue or something...whacky. Also the touchy buttons osd really messed up the performance with the volume OSD slowing the crap outta my pc i found a quick fix 4that type run in start search, run msconfig, and uncheck the OSD checkbox for the buttons.

  • I had the exact same experience and HP service was no help. They would not acknowledge that many others have had this experience with the monitor.

  • i hope my HP don't do this

  • Omg i also had a HP Pavilion Mine display did break after 8 moth.. I was just press Enter and the display was broken......

  • i bought my HP DV8310US(dv8000) a year ago, and now its has same problem, it started with 1 line, then then other popped outta no where, then another, and until this moment there are 5 lines and i think there are more on the way since i see a little shadow line trying to pop up, as far as my research replacing the LCD fixes the problem.

  • I have similar problem with only 2 lines started with one. My HP is a 17 inch DV8000 series bought in Jan/06 in Spain.

Any experience with this problem with a Spanih SAT?

  • I have a HP Pavilion DV9500!

    HATER!!!!!

When I accidently broke my screen they

Replaced the screen, motherboard, heaphone jack, keyboard, and extended my warranty for free! Maybe it is just that particular model that is the suck. Because my HP Pavilion Dv9500t is so cool :D Very cool and sexy HiDef Screen

  • Not the Pavilion dv9830us hp that one is awesome and no lines3...

  • omfg, got the same problem, but then 'only' 2 lines (started with one)..

I'm from the Netherlands and do have experience with the customer support, and I hope the Dutch support works the same/better then last time

  • tja toch jonge...Kanker HP

  • i had a hp notebook and the screen fucked up like everyone has the same problem i opened it and fixe it by cleaning the screen i realy realy recomend not to get a hp as the man said there badly designed by the way i had the same problem 4 times it was a dv9000 peace of shit.

  • I have one too, the only problem is that its loud and its gets really hot really quick

  • to all u n00bs... i have the same notebook as shown in this movie, i never had problems with this hp notebook.

he's 2 years old now and the only problem is that my graphics card drivers are outdated!

  • You know, you can really tell when someone lacks even average intelligence when they insert numbers into words.

Just because HP has all of its computers manufactured by Chinese peasants who don't know anything about computers, resulting in malfunctioning garbage, does not give you carte blache to insult the victims of this irresponsible corporate citizen's lassitude.

Don't try and defend HP. They're indefensible.

  • HP IS BAD... AND ALSO YOUR ENGLISH

    ;););););)

Recently bought a pavilion... and now i see this... fuck

  • I bought a HP, Saw this, That isnt my model so it doesnt matter.

    Mine is awesome :D

  • So you pass by not properly use a team as good as you have, as you did? is more that happens for being so stupid and wanker, what you say in all sincerity

  • i have the same problem with my HP pavilion ZD8000. my display is geting bad every day

  • toshiba notebook rules!!!
