Resting is the last thing that Jill would do, considering her will to live a full life. She's probably restless right now, and ready to hit the slopes as soon as Jesus returns. Definitely an inspiration to many people, but overshadowed by the passing of singer Whitney Houston, who passed away at about the same time Jill did. Jill Kinmont came a long way from her adversity, and she's all the better for it. She may not be in this world anymore, bit she's in the next one and enjoying it. Cheers!

Many thanks for posting this! I had not seen many of the original pictures you have so painstakingly included here. Have never forgotten seeing the film as a child, and so happy to know Jill is still with us. She is really a testament to living life to the fullest in spite of circumstances thrown at us...

A gente está sempre se encontrando pelos caminhos que a vida nos reserva, ainda que virtualmente, Este tema de emociona, pois é verídico e a propria Jill Kinmont fez parte da técnica com os seus informes e passagens da sua vida tortuosa, ceifada praticamente aos 18 anos, mas foi de um heroismo incrivel, tornou-se professora aos 20 e está viva! She's 74 years old now, huh? That's incredible! She lost so much, but she made her life worth it, despite all that happened to her. I am surprised that she's lived this long, though. Because I know that there are often complications and diseases that arise from paralysis. Does anyone know anyway that she can be contacted?

Amigo Josiel, tenho um farto material que me foi enviado pela Universal Pictures e a revista Time & Life... Ela, Jill Kinmont Boothe, só me escrevera uma vez, respondendo em 1976, um ano após o filme e vês o "post card" nos dois fiminhos que fiz pra cá. Ela está hoje com 73 anos, feitos em março. Participo de um grupo no Yahoo, sobre ela. Infelizmente ninguém está postando nada lá, mas se quiseres participar te dou o endereço que infelizmente é em inglês... Muito obrigado pelos elogios, man! There's something about the opening quote "How lucky I am to have known some body and some thing that saying good-bye to was so damned awful." that has stayed with me since I first saw the movie in the 70's. Jill, Dick - wherever you are - I hope you don't mind that I've used that quote over and over at memorial services or just in my mind as I've lost so many special people over the years.
