  • One of the Best Bodhran & Dance Videos on the Web

What are the full names of the both visible Artists (Bodhran Drumer & Dancer)?

  • WOW!!, them folks are GREAT!!! cheers from St.Johns Newfoundland

  • i wish the bodhran could've been heard better, was drowned in the sound of the violin....but otherwise love the video.

  • @kealoha1987 I think you mean the Uilleann pipes....and yeah, they do tend to be loud.

  • lovley

  • Could anyone tell me what melody this is?

Great dancing, and also amazing playing

  • @Tindumola It's a track from Lunasa, on the album Otherworld...."The Floating Crowbar/ McGlinchey's/ The Almost Reel"

  • @harpbass thank you very much

  • I've just taken up the bodhran, it's more demanding than you would think. What can I say about Irish dancing? the work you put into it certainly shows in the end result, I think it's great. I came on this site to find the name of the kilt this guy's wearing, now I know it's a utilikilt ?.

  • Great!*_____* Great bodhraning and good dance

  • I cannot believe, as a bodhran player, that he actually held the bodhran by the "main strap" ...... that's why his drumming was always on the same note & tone. Her dancing was great!!

  • @faey06 He isn't holding the main strap. You can clearly see the palm and fingers pushing through the drum head at 40 secs as well as other parts of the video... I'd assume that the tone and pitch of his drumming isn't comming through on the video because of poor recording sound quality.

  • @beatme1973 you are right....when I go through the vid second by second, I can see he is not holding the strap until the very end.

  • Great, and a visit to the Isle is a must!

  • you forget to say its UILLEANN PIPE TUNE cos the most pritty

and the music make the irish pipe just ace make the burhan but all is beautiful

the dancer the budrhan nd the tin whistle

  • Is he wearing a Utilikilt?

  • "I did not have sax with that bodhran"

  • Fine performances! Yet another reason why I must visit Ireland one of these years.

  • I love this music, and the dance ( I am learning this too). Good job on filming this, Mikael! I'd like to see more of this.

  • fantastic bodhran fantastic music. fantastic dancer

  • Good stuff.

  • Jon, you are an incredible musician. You should probably post a video of your mad penny whistle skills. I could listen for days...

  • This is so awesome Jon! What a gift! If there was one instrument that I could learn how to play it would probably be the bodhrán. You should probably also post a video of you playing the penny whistle...
