Bah, I love this, but when I danced to Alegria there was another version, without her, when the guy says: I walk the earth.. Searching, and so on. Some1 knows what that song names?
I saw this when I must have been 13 or so-- It was like. Pretty close to being a religious experience, lame as that sounds. It was absolutely amazing, and I've probably listened to this CD more times than I care to admit. Glad to have seen someone link a Cirque CD to get me back into it.
Since Alot of the performers don't speak one language they use multi languages, and Cirque Du Soliel creates its own language so that a performer can learn the music easily.
@sintofg Not necessarily. This show is mostly in Romani, the language of the gypsies. Corteo, for instance, is in Italian, Spanish, and French, Quidam is all in jibberish. And anyways, the two original singers from Varekai were Zara Tellander and Mathieu Lavoie, who were Swedish and French Acadian (Canadian) Respectively. The CD messes this song up. Look up "Aerial Straps - VAREKAI (Cirque du Soleil)" and that version is live, plus the male singer in here isn't Mathieu :(
jajaja, felicidades, a mi también me pasó hace tiempo, es genial cuando uno encuentra alguna canción que escucho cuando era pequeño y no tenia idea como se llamaba o se te habia olvidado por el pasar de los años. I love this song!
@ilussionordream Nope. That's Zara Tellander from Sweden, along with Mathieu Lavoie from Montreal, Canada. The two current singers are Isabelle Corradi and Craig Jennings, but Zara and Mathieu are MUCH better!!!!
It's not mexican, it's SPANISH. And let me tell you something; I am mexican and I don´t know either what jar jar means, I think it´s a laugh, but for a laugh I usually use "jaja" or "jojo" or whatever. Anyways, I love this song. Thanks for uploading it. I couldn't find it before on Ares or Limewire. But now I can hear it. Thank you.

People always thought Varekai by Cirque du Soleil was great. They haven't seen ZAIA by Cirque du Soleil yet. Book a trip to Macau and watch it.

You should hear the remixed version performed during the Midnight Sun.. It's unbelievable. Zara isn't singing, but it still sounds amazing.

The singer was Daniela Mercuri, and she is from Brazil.

i heard somewhere that the lyrics are in... i think it's a language called xosha? ...annnnnnnnnyways...
polishwordforlips 3 years ago
the language is a mix between African, Italian, Spanish, and a language they made up entirely called 'Cirqueish' :D
lostWolfpup8 3 years ago 2
ah yeah, i knew that already :P (cirquish, by the way... i think? :s) but there is an african language?
hmmm... never heard any italian and spanish in el pendulo (asides for the obvious title XB)
polishwordforlips 3 years ago
yup ^_^ in some of their songs they use some african languages
if you listen carefully and have a spanish or italian translator with you then you can translate some of the words =)
lostWolfpup8 3 years ago
I am Spanish and this song does not have any words in Spanish or Italian, it's all made up!

hola!!tiene alguna traduccion esta cancion?aparte de las frases en ingles?
cacu28 3 years ago
no dice nada. Las partes que no estan en ingles estan en un lenguage imaginario inventado por cirque du soleil.
lostchild06 3 years ago
The English version of this song is called "Lifeline" and can be found on the cirque du solei album, "Delirium".
