  • My grandma Gene Dunlap told me to search Jim Dunlap, my uncle and I learned that he was a well known radio DJ. I never learned too much about him because he past away in 1999 : / Crazy what you can learn about relatives just from google search :)

  • I used to listen to Rick Shaw & Roby Yonge years ago(mid 60's) on WQAM560AM "Tiger Radio" in Miami. Miami sure was different back then, almost a small town atmosphere. You knew all your neighbors on your block and there was a lot of empty land out West of Miami. Now it's just one huge megalopolis, with condos and malls creeping right up into the Everglades! Needless to say, the "small town" flavor faded away around 1972, after the GOP National Convention was held in Miami Beach. Dick Nixon...

  • Neat video, Rick Shaw was in Spokane in the 60's. Used to listen to him on 790 AM, KJRB.

  • Wrong Rick Shaw. This Rick Shaw is from St. Louis. Started in Miami in the 50's and worked his entire career in Miami for 50 years.

  • Thats interesting. There was a Rick Shaw in Spokane in the 60's and when he came on they used to play oriental music (rickshaw) and a guy with an oriental accent would introduce him.

  • HI Chuck, Is there any way to change the slate that reads WAXY 102.7? WAXY was 105.9... the unrelated WMXJ is 102.7.

  • Another great treat! :O)

    Gracias
