If your kids don't listen, punish them...let them know that they shouldn't view anything x-rated until they are old enough to realize what their viewing. Teach your child the difference between wrong and right instead of complaining all the time.

There is no foolproof solution. Maybe try actually parenting your kids. Crazy idea, I know. The Internet is not a babysitter, and the government shouldn't try to make it one so parents can continue with apathetic child raising.

at age 14 porn wasnt something unknown to me. wasn't a stranger to my peers, either. it was pretty simple snatching a playboy from the local servo, if internet pornography is completely blocked (there will be ways around it - if people ARE determined to find a way then they will, child porn and other illegalities will still thrive on private FTPs and newsgroups but that's a story and issue for another time) then i'm sure kids will resort to hardcopies/dirty mags.

HOW TO MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS DON'T SEE HARMFUL MATERIAL:

Make an agreement with them that the internet cannot be used for porn. Regularly monitor logs and history. Tell them you'll be keeping an eye on the log and you will be addresses large inexplicable gaps while they've been on. Monitor when your children are on. Have the internet in a place like a study or lounge where you could walk in on them. Finally..half the time it's Dad/Step-Dad looking at the porn. I know this from when I was a kid.
