This is honest-to-God the best performance I've ever seen from any band, past or present, any genre. There just aren't enough words for me to describe how much I love it.
We have 10 tone deaf, soulless cretins on here. Modern music is a pile of shit. This is the best band of all time. And Stevie Nicks is the high priestess of rock, a true goddess. So go listen to JLS or some shit to you 10 morons.
Last week was the first time that I've ever seen this video and having stopped. I'm still memorized by Stevie and FM.Since I worked for 40+yrs & lost all of my family members, I began to think about the many things that I missed. I kept wondering if Stevie was doing a ritual when she started using those black castanets. When Mick looks at Stevie,he gives me the creeps.I use to see Stevie, but now I look at her.Stevie is Calliope,Euterpe & Erato. The 3 daughters of Zeus, and later considered as 9.
I wonder if Buckingham would have been more respected for his great skill if he haddn't let his grandmother dress him. I'm sitting here watching this vision of lovlieness and then the camera moves over to Mr. country bumpkin and I had to LOL. But nobody was ever better than the Mac.
At the end when stevie screams I screamed and came in my pants LOL........Any way I have listen to Stevie since I was 18 and still a devoted fan of hers, I'm 60 now...Love you my Goddess
As I tried to explain to a punk rock/progressive rock friend of mine, behind the simple sounding songs they make, when you see them live, you see how much work they put into it! And live, they love to crank it!
I remember when young, some older guy tried to tell me the Eagles were the greatest 70s band; not to take anything away from the Eagles, but Fleetwood Mac is one band that stands tall! ZZ Top, Heart amongst others!
best ever performance ive ever seen by stevie ever so intense, hope eveyone who dosent really know stevie gets to see this . then they will all get it!! queen of rock n roll forever, go stevie
thanks for posting this incredible version of siter of the moon! thanks to you, MrHelpful, I bought the CD ( the mirage tour where you can see this great versionof this song+an incredible version of tusk, gypsy, etc...THANk YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!
3:28 looks quite intentional. He never should've gotten away with treating her like that, especially in front of an audience, ffs. Otherwise a great, ever-intense performance.
I saw this concert in Oakland their 1st of the tour in Lyndsey and Stevie home area Bay Area and being in the 3rd row was a life chaining experience . Love Stevie and learned to worship Lyndsey and his crazy finger picking guitar. I love they way she looks at Lyndsey. She can be my Sister of the (0) moon

Why are so many comments focused on the drug aspect of this? Why are people even debating it or wondering if it might be the case? YES SHE WAS ON COKE. As were the others. This has been documented already. It was the times. Get over it. This is a spell binding chilling riveting performance from a true artist with barely an equal. Focus on that. Sheesh. Not everything has to be a reason for an anti-drug message.
Let me explain further. When I see her on stage now, at 62 she is not a performer, she is a person doing her music. When I watch this kindo f performance I see Ms. Nicks trying to act a song she just needs to sing. Her doping up put her mask on, now she can be Ms. Nicks, not some strange character of Ms. Nicks. I love her recordings, I don't like the live stuff. And Mick Fleetwood scares me in this video. The only one who does do great live music is Christie McVie. I love the song.
one of the best live videos on you tube, everyone in the band is absolut amazing in this song, stevie makes me 'gänsehaut' every times i watch it, and i saw it a lot of times....
I think she might have blown a line of coke in between 3:30 and 4:45. She lost her mind on stage and it was f***ing amazing. This is an amazing FM song and severely underrated.
That's BS...this live version rules. Her voice is too nasally now. She was in her prime in the late 70's early 80's. This song rules. And...it is because of Lindsey's playing.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
This is a lousy perfermance. The drugs ruined her. So much better now. The recorded version is 100% better than this. I love the woman but her live performancs while on dope are just so acted. Thank God she stopped the dope. For those on the dope get off you have no idea what a fool you are doing it.
I completely disagree! when she was 'on', she sang with her soul and this is one example of her barred (sp?) soul. FM was one of the best live bands - tightest harmonies while the other big names were a tripping mess and mostly unintelligible. I LOVE many of their live performances, better than the overproduced studio versions. Stevie was UNbelievable in this performance!! Just wow!
I camped out for days to be right underneath Stevie when she did this exact performance at the Tangerine bowl, Orlando Florida in 1982. I was 16...Today I'm turning 45 and I miss these days, these simple times...When music flowed so freely. I'm certain my ticket costs less than $20, and the experience is (and will be) forever embedded in my heart and soul! In other words, absolutely priceless...
@amorvincitomnia831 I remember when they were at the Tangerine Bowl, but it was 1975. I was 10 and my dad said I was too young to go, so I pitched a crying fit and he took me down there in the car and rode around the stadium a couple of times....I heard Stevie singing "Rhiannon". it would be another 20 years before I actually saw FM in concert, although I'd seen Stevie many, many times and Chris once.
While earlier versions of this song are quite good it was until this one they achieved perfection. And damn they did a fine job. One of the top 10 songs rock songs ever.
Take a look into Lindsay's eyes at frame 3:33 and a little beyond. That man loves Stevie, and I would kill to have someone feel that way about me. Look how he honors her by how he sings for her. Cocaine has nothing to do with it. That is the meaning of music, feeling that way, about the woman, the music, and making us happy as their fans. Stevie, you are TRULY the QUEEN!!! Felicia
@ddawson1960 Yes, you can search around and find it. I happened to tape it off MTV and block out the commercials, LOL, but mine is on old VHS format...par for the course in the '80's, but it's worth gold to me!
Such a shame this song has been cut due to difficulty and complexity from the sets. It was always one of my favs...I ws there at the Fabulous form the night this was shot, and yes...it was of incredible concert
I saw this concert in Oakland their 1st of the tour in Lyndsey and Stevie home area Bay Area and being in the 3rd row was a life chaining experience . Love Stevie and learned to worship Lyndsey and his crazy finger picking guitar.
Ds some rock .. BUT STEVIE, LINDSEY AND THE MAC ARE WITHOUT DOUBT THE ONES WHOSE MUSIC I WILL NEVER FORGET - CLASSIC, AND THE BEST YOU WILL EVER SEE LIVE!
@Saunn Oh yeah! This is one of Stevie's/FM's BEST songs. A mystic rocker that was one of the highlights of the Tusk album. Sisters live is absolutely awesome and Stevie lit the Forum up on this night in 1982. The Queen of Rock rocking out to one of her greatest songs and showing the world why SHE made the Mac the biggest and why Bella Donna (released a year earlier) was a multi-platinum, chart topping phenomenom. Stevie Nicks - still rocking today! Long live the Queen of Rock!
I think this version of Mac was at his peak 81-82...despite awful clumsy edit, Stevie a bit coked up- its the ultimate performance of this song, as usual great guitar from Lindsey..
I think he hits her intentionly or not and that why he put his head on her shoulder in the solo..
lady Gaga will NEVER come near STEVIE...no one will..the energy of those days..the REAL LIGHT..these wanna be stars ""Pale in her Shadow" as she sings..
This is by far my favorite. Love when stevie gets into the music like that, like skee used to do with rhiannon. It's like she is performing an exorcism
@Maa23evo Stevie is truly a performer Unlike some other women who throw on a idiot costume and shake their ass & pose as Divas. Its all in their heads, where with Stevie, its all Spirit.
I'm and have always been a FLEETWOOD MAC lover! I'm 60 years old and have never ever gotten tired of any of their music! There is a strong aura around Stevie Nicks that makes her mystical & magical. She's still going strong too. She came out in the 70's, and she's still going at 60+, now that's what I call a LEGEND!!! You still rock out Stevie, and where ever you go after this lifetime, you'll always be timeless! You'll still be rockin' out there too! I'll be right there rockin' out wit ya!
Has Stevie ever commented on this performance, particularly. I wonder if she knows its a huge fan fav on YouTube. Coke or not. It's only rock and roll and I LOVE IT.
Agreed with homegrown. I should have been born when I could have enjoyed this band at their peak here - you didn't see this on the Say You Will Tour for sure.
@joeyjettt Contrast this performance with the same song played at a later time...can't remember if I saw it on youtube or if it was from "The Dance" , when they were all clean...the difference is startling and impossible to miss. Especially Stevie, who is white as a ghost in this version.
@joeyjettt : My point was that they hadn't quit anything when this clip was filmed, which was long ago, and during this performance they are obviously wasted on coke and exhausted from having coke keep them awake night after night. That's why they look and sound ragged, pale, weak and drawn...this clip was made when they were probably doing more coke than any other group of people on earth (because they could afford to).
You couldn't have found a band that looks like they shouldn't be on the same stage together any more than FM in this video. Lindsey looks like some weird farmer, Christine looks like she should be off scrapbooking, Stevie looks like a reject from Cats (towards the end), Mick...I dunno...waiting for a chalk outline on the floor? John McVie looks like he shold be on a boat somewhere.
But hell, what a band. Great performance from all the musicians and an awesome vocal from Stevie. Wow!
love, love, LOVE this awesome performance!! thank you for sharing.
at 3:30 Lindsey knocks into Stevie as he moves across the stage. She's reaching out either to him or his direction and had to push him away. Disturbing is that she never lost a beat - almost like she was used to it? If so- no wonder she was so lonely and unhappy.
saw this live in 1980. this song blew my mind. buckingham literally tore that guitar solo at the end up. greatest concert i ever saw!! still gives me the shivers. thx for posting it.
i like this version because it actually has the audience noise in it. The other versions on youtube OF THIS EXACT SHOWING in 1982...sound awful because some company tried to edit out the audience noise and sell it on DVD. What's the point of a live version then? I wish I could get this version on DVD!
The intro on the album version is unhurried, we're made to wait and let it all sink in
The lyrics are pure Stevie and Lindsey's trademark screaming guitar solo @ the end is priceless..
The great thing about the Mac, for me, is they all used the same harmonic language and all 3 of the writers bounced off each other, beautifully to make an unmistakable, unbeatable whole.
For some reason this song just had me! When you read the comments down below it's even hard to describe how good this song was. I heard them at blossom music Center in Cuyahoga Falls and she did say, "you have no idea how many stuffed animals I have at my house." I think this concert was there. Stevie Rox!! So does the rest of Fleetwood Mac.
You know how it cuts out around 5:25 and then starts again at a different part? I have always wondered what really happened there. I think this is in Japan??? Somebody out there has to know...
The real show starts when Stevie and Lindsey will ride off to the sunset Together... all of this for 40plus years was just to entertain us!! Best of Times you Two!!!!
I don't think I've ever seen a better video or heard a better song than this one. I actually think Stevie gets off on this. She was crying when it was over and we know what that means. I need a cigarette they were great! Stevie rocks!
I'm 46 years old and still in love with Fleetwood Mac. Even being a married woman, Stevie still steals my heart every time I listen to her. Something takes her over at 4:47 thru 6:26 - she is completely and totally involved in this song. I adore her - always have and always will....
@WitchyWonder Your so right about something taking over her!..That's what I just love about her. She is so real and deep...And the best thing is she takes us all with her!!
Absolutely fantastic performance. Stevie at her absolute best (and Lindsey). The Mirage Tour was definately their best live performance. Mick also does a great drum session. Anyone notice Lindsey deliberately barging Stevie out of the way at 3:30? He was awfully jealous of Stevie getting all the attention and still hurt from the breakup me thinks!!1
i like this version because its the original....the one off the DVD sucks because they tried editing out the sound of the audience which ruined the sound....how did you get this wonderful version!?
@ripley450 She actually is. Gaga told Stevie she thinks of her style when she's unsure of what to do. It's a vid on here called "stevie nicks--Lady Gaga looked stunningly beautiful"
The music itself is just amazing. Maybe the best pure music from a guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard on one song for a live performance. Simply amazing!
I remember this show... It was wild. There were 2 locations that this song was done during the Tusk Tour - NYC and Red Rocks. And as always, Stevie was doing constant costume changes lol
just LOVE this video.... have it on Video, and still, after all these Years I´m in Love with this Performance... Thank you Mac !!!

Has Stevie ever commented on this performance, particularly. I wonder if she knows its a huge fan fav on YouTube. Coke or not. It's only rock and roll and I LOVE IT.
Plandisable 1 year ago
Agreed with homegrown. I should have been born when I could have enjoyed this band at their peak here - you didn't see this on the Say You Will Tour for sure.

I should have been born like 30 years earlier... :(

@Flower7777777Power: I didn't say that. But if you can't tell that's what they were doing in this clip that's not my problem.
The7thBeatle 1 year ago

This performance is out of this world.. Stevie Nicks Rocks!

If so- no wonder she was so lonely and unhappy.

i like this version because it actually has the audience noise in it. The other versions on youtube OF THIS EXACT SHOWING in 1982...sound awful because some company tried to edit out the audience noise and sell it on DVD. What's the point of a live version then? I wish I could get this version on DVD!

I'm absolutely floored, what a performance. I need to own this concert on blu-ray or dvd, big time.
joeyjettt 1 year ago
This has always been one of my favourite songs.

Full of passion from beginning to end . . . . from Mick to Stevie, this performance has it. Thank you for this video!

WitchyWonder 1 year ago 27
@WitchyWonder Your so right about something taking over her!..That's what I just love about her. She is so real and deep...And the best thing is she takes us all with her!!

Absolutely fantastic performance. Stevie at her absolute best (and Lindsey). The Mirage Tour was definately their best live performance. Mick also does a great drum session. Anyone notice Lindsey deliberately barging Stevie out of the way at 3:30? He was awfully jealous of Stevie getting all the attention and still hurt from the breakup me thinks!!1

I remember this show... It was wild. There were 2 locations that this song was done during the Tusk Tour - NYC and Red Rocks. And as always, Stevie was doing constant costume changes lol

They screwed this show up. No offense, but I think Lindsay is a bit too jivey and a bit too boasty with his voice.
