Generally speaking, in the U.S., a police baton is considered a lethal weapon. Sure, at fetish events like Folsom, people get by with a lot of things that wouldn't work anywhere else in the country. That's particularly true in places where there is little or no understanding of fetish attire nor acceptance of it. I just recommend not taking chances of being detained for questioning, which can be at best annoying, or at worst, require an appearance in court.
I think I saw some people wearing the baton at Folsom last year. Is it illegal to carry one in every state, or just where you live?
