Basically everybody who loves real basketball either watches NCAA (in the states) or Euroleague (in Europe). When it comes to basketball, however, there is no question that American players are unmatched. Foreign leagues have made tremendous progress but history has shown that when we actually care about international play, we not only win but do so in dominating fashion.
@krizzo47 Did you bother to watch the FIBA competition? We dominated those games with our defense. I'm not going to bother to check the statistics but I'm sure we lead the competition in blocks and steals and if not, were pretty close to doing so. Foreign leagues are most physical but don't let that fool you. It takes alot more footwork, energy and skill to guard a player effectively without making contact.

It appears to be fundamentally sound and you have fairly high court awareness (i.e.. knowing where your teammates are and where you need to be in relation to them). Didn't get a good feel for your jump shot but it appears as though you have some moves to work with 10-15ft away from the basket. Best of luck with your career.

Yeah we really showed our dominance in the '02/06 FIBA Championships and '04 Olympics. Of course we win most of them but the 04 team had quite the roster. USA has the greatest athletes that's for sure, but not always the smartest.

Come on. Memphis was one of the worst teams in the NBA last year, if not the worst. If he had any skill he would have been starting. He is a streaky player who is not consistent. He had a great game against the Lakers, scoring 34 points but the next game against the Clippers (a bad NBA team) he had 11 points on 2-10 shooting. He played great in the gold medal game against the US but was invisible the rest of the Olympics. He is not consistent enough to be a star in the NBA for 82 games.

@raulox71 This "rivalry" could have been put to bed had Spain done what it was suppose to do this year. Instead, they lost in one of the preliminary rounds of the World Championship. You remember the World Championship right? Its the tournament the USA won.

@twinkiefoot I saw the World Championship, I did not like too because very much good players were not. There lacking Players like Pau Gasol, Dirk Novitzky, Andrew Bogut, Šarūnas Jasikevičius, and some more.
I agree, USA won the Basketball World Championship 2010 deservedly. They were the best and except Brasil, nobody stood up.

We are just amazing! We just care about the only truly world game Football, (football, football not the american gladiators thing played with a watermelon) but we still won the americans in what they suppous to do better! And we have much more! Rafa USopen, Contador Tour de France, Alonso F1, Gasol NBA, Spain World Cup and Euro, Golf for Europe, Motorbikes Lorenzo... And we are 40 millions!

@thecasinoschool4 Ultimately, that doesn't really matter. For several decades, our country has been sending out our B and C-level stars to play in these international games. Unlike your teams, our squad never really had the advantages to scrimmage and practice with one another due to how late into the summer our seasons run. In spite of that, our teams always still usually medal. If you forgot, our team just won the gold medal and destroyed teams on average of 20 points per game.

its called FC Barcelona because the club with which the basketball team is apart of is called Futebol Club Barcelona. Its like FC Barcelona is the company name and the basketball team is a division. Its just how europe works - they might officially name it BC Barcelona one day.

In the last three years 3 nba teams lost in preaseason to spanish acb teams so the level is not than diferent. Give us 5 years more and will have level to join and international league.
If that happen will be best think can happen to the basketball.

Not so fast buddy. In the last three years NBA teams are 24-4 against Euro League teams. Yes in that time they are only 3-3 against Spanish ACB teams but that is just chance. NBA teams in the last three years are 10-1 against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Panathinaikos, and CSKA Moscow and those are the teams that are champions of Europe.

No way gabepizza!! Get your facts straight its 24-4 against European teams!! Not against Euroleague Teams. Like last year where it was 4-2 NBA vs EB but you guys played ULED teams and even some other FIBA teams and then said it was 9-2 against Euroleague!! That's great PR for you, but crap lies!!

I don't know about the different leagues in Europe. I just know that Euroleague is an open system and teams can advance in and out of it. Are there 32 teams in Euroleague as there are in the NBA? I do know that NBA teams are 11-2 against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Panathinaikos, and CSKA Moscow and those are the teams that were the champions of Euroleague.

Again, read up and get your facts straight. Many that you count as EB teams are not!! They are ULEB or FIBA teams (Estudiantes, BC Khimki or Asvel). These three already played 5games, but still do many believe when the NBA PR publicates these numbers! And by the way the EB teams won 5 games and not 4. I agree that NBA has a better level, but not as much as you want to believe with these BS numbers you show that are simply not true!

Yes since they started playing again in 2003 the NBA is 28-5 against EUROPEAN teams. How many teams are EB teams? Only thirteen? Can't the ULEB or FIBA teams become EB teams if they are good enough? Remember there are 32 NBA teams. Also since 2003 the NBA is 12-2 against against Maccabi Tel Aviv, Panathinaikos, and CSKA Moscow and those are the teams that were champions of Europe.

You are completely insane. They lost both games against NBA teams, and one game by 28 points. Even their own players and coaches said the talent level in the NBA is a lot higher than Euroleague. They would be the worst team in the NBA by far.

I hope so, but think that FC Barcelona is only a section of a Soccer Club. Their main interest is in soccer, but they also have basketball, handball, futsal (something similar to Indoor soccer) and Roller Hockey. And their budget is little if you compare it with the NBA ones...

You are nuts. Barcelona lost to the Clippers without four of their best players. Barcelona would be the worst team in the NBA by far. Navarro is one of the best players on Barcelona, on Memphis he was coming off the bench.

Come on. Memphis was one of the worst teams in the NBA last year, if not the worst. If he had any skill he would have been starting. He is a streaky player who is not consistent. He had a great game against the Lakers, scoring 34 points but the next game against the Clippers (a bad NBA team) he had 11 points on 2-10 shooting. He played great in the gold medal game against the US but was invisible the rest of the Olympics. He is not consistent enough to be a star in the NBA for 82 games.
