  • does anyone have any movies on tape including commercials from ktpv 12 like casablanca, physco or car wash. lol

  • Man, you have no idea how much this makes my heart ache for the OLD kptv channel 12, the greatest TV station ever. Ramblin Rod, Portland wrestling, Tom Peterson... In the words of Stevie Wonder "I wish those days could come back once more..." Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • @muscleboundfreak me too my friend your not alone I grew up in a small oregon coastal town of coos bay and all we had was ten channels on cable and one of them was kptv 12. my childhood was kptv 12 from portland wrestling to ramblin rod to the eight o clock movie and tom peterson. I will forever miss it.

  • @lockenjr

    Agreed! Miss my KPTV 12!

  • @muscleboundfreak those were the days my friend we thought theyd never end...

  • @muscleboundfreak this and ktxl tv 40 from sacramento with tom labrie night comfort theater and ktvu theres only one two ruled the west coast late nights for years in the seventies and eighties...

  • Me too! Awesome memories, Portland Wrestling and the never ending Tom Peterson commercials.

  • Man these are the good ole days. A simpler time. Ramblin' Rod, Portland Wrestling and Tom Peterson commercials. Don't forget late nite -- Benny Hill. That was the greatest thing ever.

It truly was an independent station. It always felt like I owned the station. I think many of us feel that.

  • I remember back in the 1970s through the early 80s, we got this station down in Eugene. Wow this brings back memories!!! Thank you!!!

  • I miss those old bumpers I am from southern oregon and grew up on tv 12 as well as channel 2 ktvu from the bay area. Long live portland wrestling.

  • Announcer's the late Tom Michaels, a local Portland DJ and announcer who was the voice of Fred Meyer commercials for several years.

  • His voice is like comfort food for my ears I did not realize he passed. Great childhood memories come from hearing his voice. "KPTV 12, PORTLAND"

  • According to WikiPedia, from 1984 to 1986, KPTV was Portland's affilate for "Kids Incorporated".

  • Actually I believe that kind of affiliation ran through 1989.

  • no I can tell you for sure I was a kptv 12 junking growing up and in 86 it went to disney channel.

  • This sure brings back old memories to me. Thank you for the upload. Have you got any other classic TV clips available?

  • I'll upload them as they become available. Feel free to subscribe!

  • @NWvideocollector thank you for this gem. It is so bittersweet seing old school kptv 12
