@womblediehard Yes, I'm roughly the same age as Dave Tennant and I would have been 11 years old in 1985 and at Junior School but Dave is NOT my favourite time lord by a long chalk. The man who defined the role for me HAS TO BE TOM BAKER, The only one who comes anywhere near is Pertwee but crucially, I never saw him as a child. it was years later (perhaps 1998) that I first saw pertwee as the Doctor so I didn't "grow up with him" as it were.

Its awsome how two incarnations of the doctor didnt get along with one another on the show, although in real life Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee got on very well. And you seem to get a lot of that sort of thing between the actors who played the role, Sylvester Mccoy was friends with Paul Mcgann, and Jon Pertwee and William Hartnell had worked together on something (cant remember what) long before either worked on doctor who.

His character was just irratating as he was very unlikable as a loud and angry complication of a head ache! Though not popular with fans. His costume is a patchwork quilt. But it would have worked much better if his character was whimsicle and as eccentric as T.Baker, Eccleston and Smiths.
