Auf der Bühne stand noch die Sabine und hat geweint und im Hintergrund liefen Bilder von Helden aber auch ganz anderen, von Diktatoren, Antihelden .... war wahnsinnig toll und der Song hat unglaublich gut gepasst

@ENDEUARABIA Of course it is an poetic language. We had some great poets. For instance Johann Wolfgang Goethe, Friedrich Schiller, Theodor Storm, Heinrich Heine, Bertold Brecht, Annette von Droste-Hülshoff etc.

I think the problem is the pronunciation. In the ears of people with other mother tongue it sounds raw and brutal with all the strong consonants, isn't it?

I appreciate it very much that David translated his song. Possibly he made it because he lived for two years in Berlin.

I disagree. I think the German version blows away the English version. The Frtench version is easily the weakest of the three (never cared for the sound of French).

@userjoe1020 Wow wow, now you go too far. This version is decent, but in no way better than the english version (and, I agree, a lot better than the awful french version :P). You forget that the song was originally WRITTEN in english, its was supposed to sound better in english (the way different sounds and letters clash into each other, you can't translate that into another laguage, it's just like poetry). And you forget the charming english accent that Dave always has when singing. :)
