  • Instead of using prostyle hair gel, I used Wisely Made's "Maxi Moisturizer Hair Pomade" and my twist lasted almost a month with touching it up.

  • can you take them out after if you dont want them

  • What's the for men mean. Women twist the same way

  • Thank you for posting this video...I just recently had my hair twisted, and I needed to know how to keep it up..I don't want to go around looking like a slave trying to find a way up north!...THANKS!!!

  • haha pretty easy. imma try it out myself

  • What's good Bro u from Chicago? If so me too

  • Are you kidin me. How the heck! Did you do that! Amazing

  • i just twisted using this video today for the first time on my friend's hair. worked well after i got the hang of using the comb. thx

  • Is that MrReel with the twisties lol how is his head turning like that it looks like the hair gave him powers to levitate lol

  • @silver911surfer .... lol, I know right!! I lmbo after I made this video!!

  • What if ur hair get wet

  • swagg

  • How Does Your Hair Stay Like That After Twisting It ?

  • @MrRudeEgo if you are using lockn gel or styling gel.... it will stay in place!! Just need to be re-twisted every few weeks

  • that track is fire! who dat tho??

  • how long was your hair to begin with.

  • @leshundra .... in this video my hair was probably 2" - 2 1/5"..... but since then, I have cut my hair off and started over.... just got twisted last week and my hair is about 3" long (not planning to cut or wash them out again)

  • I know this may be an "out of the box" question but whats the name of the song?

  • but when u sleep ur hair flattens and it looks like shit

  • omg....why can't I do this? lol that twistin wit the comb part is the hardest part for me...dang hair keeps gettin tangled up in the comb. *throws up hands*

  • @Teewentnatural try applying more geland make sure the hair is damp before trying to twist it

  • this was a good vid! i just started mine!

  • hey bro, u can take these out right without it dreadin?

  • @Hamez227 .... as long as your hair is not locked... they will wash right out... I only kept them in for about 2 weeks at a time - washed them out - and did it all over again

  • do u use rubber bands to keep the twists

  • @Stewboy64 .... no, if you use locking gel or styling gel... it will hold on it's own!!

  • @MrReel23 and how long do they usually last

  • @Stewboy64 ... it depends on your activities but mine use to last for at least 2-3 weeks before it needed a retwist

  • wow they look really good,

this is exactly what i want my hair to look like

  • lol wooow didnt know it would be that easy im mexican i know how to braid and stuff and my bro inlaw has been wantin his hair twisted but he can never find someone to twist it and he kept tellin me i need to learn so i can do his hair. now imma go see if i can do it. =] thanks

  • whats the different between men and women twisting?

  • how do yo get it curly?

  • @xH00D3DxPANTH3R ... didn't do anything to get it curly... just washed it and left it a little wet during the twisting process

  • @xH00D3DxPANTH3R when you wash it and it's all wet and stuff...yuor hair texture like loosen's up from rough to straighter to taller and curlyer till it gets dry

  • WHAT?!

    That's so EASY.

I had NO IDEA it was that easy.

THATS THE WAY I TWIST MY BABIES' HAIR (when they're babies that is).

I didn't know. I'm about to go in here and do my lil brother in law's hair and had to come on here to make sure I had a process in mind to do it.

Then I see you do it.

    And I can DO THAT!!!

THANK YOU SO MUCH you've given me the confidence I did NOT have because the only people's hair I do typically is me and my children's hair.

  • @DreamGyrl360 ... yes it really is easy... I'm soo glad to know that I have given you the confidence to twist other people's hair.... now get out there and twist.... lol

    Thanks 4 the comment!!

  • how many inches was ur hair in that video and whats the name of that twist

  • @van1121 ... hair may have been 2 1/2 or 3 inches... not sure of the name of the twist.... it may be called something but I just call them twists

  • can u get twist wiyh 2 inches of hair

  • @boykilla48 .... there are some people who can twist very short hair but I don't think its a good look (if the hair is too short).... if it's too short it won't hang... it will look like a bunch of small balls of hair (or naps) on your head.... just give it a try and if u don't like it... then, wash it out and wait until your hair is longer

  • Okay, I been having twist in my hair for a few months now. The person who been twisting mine hair have been having problems twisting mine hair all way tighter because "mine hair is thick". Is there a way to make mine hair lock better? Please give me an answer. I really need to find a way to solve mine problem.

  • I want to get that same thing, but I don't know how to wash my head...can you tell me?

  • when do u use the spray bottle

  • @Chiboss101 the spray bottle is used through out the whole process just to keep the hair damp.... Kinda left that part out of the video... my fault!!

  • can lock it up gel be used as a option instead of regular hair gel to do the twist as well?

  • @rjgreen100 ... I know some people who have used locking gel in place of regular hair gel... and it works just as good!!

  • 1,2,3. u say spray bottle, but wats in te spray bottle?@ 22sec u never said whats is in the bottle the guy is holding.

We need details.b4 attemptin to repeat the hair style u are.

  • @DaMadhaTTeR424 .... the spray bottle has water in it.... the water is used to keep the hair moist..... wet hair twist better than dry hair

  • @MrReel23 "wet hair twist better than dry hair " Grabbing a pen & paper now. -sarcasm-

  • those shits are so clean all u need now is a fresh TAper

  • @themrMILLZ .... thanks for the luv baby boy!!

  • kool video, they kinda look like dreads

  • @jonderrick25 .... a lot of people actually start their dreads like this.... that's what i'm doing now

  • Get that hair style and watch your hair grow so fast and quickly....why?? Because your hair cant break off the ends are twisted so there-fore they have no choice but to keep growing

  • @FreshTaper1994 .... I totally agree with you.... it does make your hair grow faster.... thanks for the comment!!

  • @MrReel23 you already no... know problem

  • @thisisrichy ..... now if you're trying to loc... then, never wash them out..... just retwist every few weeks (2-3)... but if u want your locs thicker then u have to be willing to go a few months without retwisting... just twist according to your lifestyle.. if u work and need to keep ur appearance neat - retwist every 2-3 weeks... other than that - just retwist whenever u like.... It's been almost a month since my last retwist

  • @thisisrichy .... if you're not trying to loc... then, I would wash out and retwist every 2-3 weeks.... just depends how itchy your scalp becomes

  • This is a little off topic... but I'm happy to see at least ONE video on 'ethnic' hair styling that DOESN'T have hip-hop/rap music playing as I watch. It's somewhat annoying that way... Anywho, nice video. I'm wanting to do that for medium length hair, but i want the twisties to to be straight down like dreads. (no curly twist segments) I actually prefer the shiny look of these over the matted look of dreads. But I want the same general style, per se. Arigatou!

  • Nice Vid...my hair use to be down my back I cut it but now it's always long enough fir twist..

  • how long did it really take to get dis done seem like yu flew through it

  • @BlkCatLady .... When my hair was short "like in this video" it only took about 45-60 mins.... it all depends on the person doing the twisting!!

  • best tutorial ever and ma hair longer than his hell yeah bout to get it done

  • do they hurt??

  • these twists break my hair off bad. what could be the problem?

  • how do you get them to lock?

do you just leave it alone and wait for it to loc?

  • @keinaan12345 For your hair to lock you gotta take the twist out and come come your hair out. And put some thick bees wax on your hair all over and then twist it. It should lock.

  • @24bbrou I heard beeswax bad for you your hair?right?

  • is my hair long enough to get twist my hair is about a inch and a half

  • how do you keep twists from turning into dreads?

  • @yomama5677 .... to keep them from locking.... wash them out every few weeks and have them retwisted

  • @MrReel23 how long do they last?

  • @yomama5677 Twist do not automatically turn into 'dreads' locs require maintenance same as most other styles.

  • Are those what gel twists are?

  • how long was your hair starting

  • how long does the hair have to be?

  • @jmac747 .... I think at least 2 inches so they can hang a little but.... I have seen some very short, that didn't hang.... I guess it all depends how u want them to look

  • Thats nice bro I think I'll get this done instead of cutting it.

  • wow this is super KOOL also the music is kool

  • @hontoa1 ..... Thanks!!

  • nice video can i have the name of the song

  • @tjwizz49 .... I can't remember the name of the song but it came with my Pinnacle Studio Software!!

  • @MrReel23 how do you sleep on them without the twist's messing up? and when you dont want the twists anymore do you just wash them out?

  • @calvin232323 .... because i have some one at home to keep them up for me.... I'm not as careful with them as I would be if I paid for them..... in other words, I don't sleep with anything on .... when they start looking bad, I just have them retwisted... but if u r paying for them then u may want to sleep in a silk scarf or something...... and if u r not trying to get dreeds then yes.... u can just wash them out!!

  • @MrReel23 ha thanks man, last time i tried growing out my hair i did the twist with the same Gel u used and i started losing hair :(

  • @calvin232323 coming from a female who wore this style until my hair grew out longer when i first got it cut, it's very hard to mess these up if they are done right and dried all the way. i sleep rough so a scarf will be on the floor. mine stayed great. extra advice is to wear a shower cap while you are taking a bath or moisture can soften them up again. and washing them out was a breeze.

  • Great vid! Brief and well taught! Thank you!!!

  • @MissMcFearless .... u'r welcome and Thank you for watching.... I love short videos myself

  • loved this video!... thanks

  • @unicabrillo ..... u'r welcome!! Thanks for watching!!

  • @unicabrillo ..... u'r welcome!! Thanks for watching!!

  • I did my hubby's by following this video!!!! He loved them! It took me like 2 hours cause it was my 1st time! Are you doing this to loc your hair? That's what my hubby wants. So how do you maintain them or get them to loc?

  • @ahsenerb27 ..... Yes, I'm planning to let them loc.... I just re-posted a video on how I'm trying to get them to loc... it's called... "Locking Twists V-3"..... I'm still new at this but feel free to check it out.... I'm planning to do more updates as I learn!!

  • can tou use like normal hair jel or do you have to buy strait up loc jel?

  • @TheNathan777xx ....... I'm using both... the locking gel and normal hair gel (mainly on the top b/c for sum reason the hair on the top is making me work harder)!!

  • for sum reason dis video keeps making me laugh

  • @MrmarkD1 .... I feel u b/c I kept laughing when I was making it.... u would have thought that I was James Cameron directing Avatar or sumthg!!

  • got my hair twisted today, your tutorial is a inspiration!

  • @dundicook ... Glad to hear that!! They are a lot of work but well worth it in the end.

  • how does the comb not get tangled with your hair...cuz im trying to do my cuzions hair like yours with the comb but while shes twirling the comb how does it slide out so easily and not get tangled

  • @Zmoney600 .... I can't speak for other people's hair but for me.... if I wash it, keep it a little wet, used the spray bottle when it starts to get dry, and apply the gel.... the comb tends to slide right through.... try wetting it more before applying the gel and when u r twisting, making sure u r pulling the comb through and not twisting in one spot.... hope this helps!!

  • Loved it that was good

  • how long was the proccess

  • @soso48013526 ... the whole process only took about 1 hour

  • Nice vid nice music to

  • really nice video... Very well done... (short precise with key points)

  • how long were u growing your hair at that time

  • @jjaization - I'm not sure, maybe 4 mths or longer... my hair doesn't grow that fast but with a little care and love... I guess it'll get there :-)

  • They look good. Are there natural/orgnix waxes or gels for this?

  • thank for showin me step by step perfect

  • Awesome...my turn. lol

  • can u do another one explaining it and not just showin it

  • i think ill do this im subsribing

  • how do u maintain them

  • you could actually do nothing BUT its best if you do a retwist at least monthly or bi-weekly, and also you can wash them to help maintain them

  • can u do that with even shorter hair?? cuz mine is not quite that long

  • cool. im going to try this

  • THiS WAS VERY HELP fUL bUHT WUH DID SHE USE THE SPRAY BOTTLE FOR??

  • @ROCkSTAR2530 the spray bottle is to keep the hair a little wet b/c "for me" it tends to twist and hold better when wet!!

  • Wooow!! okay i think my fro is as big as yours or even a little bigger and that looked easy haha....how long have you been growing that fro?? i started mine on the last week of November till this date ha....message me up so i can send you a picture of how big it is or whatever and tell me if i am ready of i still need more fro growing ha

  • real good video man. i might do that soon

  • how do u this? i want them?

  • @diguel12 ummmm..... video already shows you how to do it.... d'uh...

  • on watching this again, it looks like you have hella soft hair, homie.... anyway, i suppose i'll just get someone to try twisting mine and see how we go....

    thanks for the feedback though.

  • what is the name of the song

  • when does she spray the water

  • good job on the vid and by your lady...

indication on how long it took to do the hair please?

  • When she 1st started doing it.... it took about 2 hours.... now she's down to 50 mins!!

  • me too. i'll pay you

  • can u do mine..plz..

  • um anybody no how long u got to grow yo hair out

  • @kingmoney45 u want to have at least 1/2 to 2 inches of hair. it can be done shorter but the longer it is the better it'll hold.

  • ur wife has got skill dude! i would be proud to have a wife like that ;)

  • Thx, Buddy the only Reason why i grew my afro is to get this Style ;)

  • and when yu dry your hair how long will it stay like that

and how often do yu have to re do it ?

  • @libby123456789 - if u take care of it... sleep in a silk scarf, touch up every few days, oil ur scalp... it should last for a few weeks.... but, if you are not trying to let them loc then u should get them redone every few weeks!! I'm no professional but this is what works for me!!

  • How does the Spray bottle help buddy ?

  • @libby123456789 - the spray bottle is to keep my hair moist while it's being twisted... for me, it turns out better!!

  • I am going to practice on my son's head. What do I use as a oil to keep his hair from drying out

  • @mssilkey - after a few days to a week, I like to touch up the loose hair with gel and water and for my scalp I use a thin hair creme called "Soft & Precious" (it's for kids but it works good b/c it's not thick) or u could used a cheap version of Pink Oil Lotion... the name brand is prob. too thick!!

  • Dats Hott Im tryna get ma hair Dun It short I think Like His How Much Doez It Cost u Think

  • @17jmlc -- Mann, I get it done for the freebie.... best thing to do, have ur wifey-shawty-boo (or whoever) practice on ur head. This was my wifey 3rd time twisting!!

  • nice!!!

  • Nice tutorial.. How long will twists stay up??

  • @1lilcuz -- If u sleep in a silk scarf and don't sweat a lot... they should last for 2 weeks or more... also, once they become frizzy... have someone hand twist them with a lil gel & water and they should last even longer.
