ive seen a few of these videos now and its become clear that John has developed into the song-starter of the band. i would say song writer but that should be a name reserved for the entire band cause their music is a group thing. Having said that, its clear that John gets the band headed in the right direction when making a song and gives his band mates inspiration for their parts.
Mary Jane couldn't match Dani California on it's best day. It's similar in so far as it uses a similar chord progression (which is quite certainly not unique to Mary Jane, and more akin to Californication). And yet, Dani California has so many more layers. The first solo alone is enough to bury Mary Jane. It's not even comparable to Mary Jane. Not by a long shot.
Yah perhaps it's been overplayed, but that's why I listen to bootleg recordings so I can enjoy some variation and improvisation. But more generally I'm glad that most of the songs on Stadium Arcadium (or any Chili's album) aren't on the radio because then they wouldn't be as special to me (i.e. I Could Have Lied). Besides, who listens to the radio anyway?
that was the point of it, to be different from their other stuff...sometimes that means being similar to other stuff out there (it is NOT a carbon copy of mary jane!)...but as an entity unto itself, it is a thing of beauty beheld by many
well than what you want? RHCP have different tunes and songs and you say you like that and at the same time that you dont like it... make up your mind...
Well he did say that he's a lot more high now that he's clean, sober, and healthy. That living life on a more spiritual aspect and doing yoga, eating his health foods and not doing the vices he used to do made him more high than when he was on drugs and stuff.

just the chord pregression true.
but still.. "Dani California" was a bit overplayed on the radio for my likings.. same with "Snow".
when the album came out they just beat the hell out of those 2 songs.
Stadium Arcadium should be worthy of atleast 8 singles..

well like chuck berry says, lot of rock songs sounds similar to each other...
and they have to change too...it would be to boring if they always play same songs, dont you think?
kiedisfan1162 3 years ago
thats why i hate bands such as Tool and Metallica.
every single fucking song is in the same tone.
as if the don't even bother to care about the sound of the guitar matching the song.
