right to share and right for protection of material interests is. read article 27 from universal human rights. copyright is just one method to achieve material interests protection and it is really bad method.

Saying "I INVENTED IT" would be copyright... just using it for calculations is not copyright, it's the expansion of knowledge. If that were copyrighted, then you would also have to say that no one could use numbers or even basic addition because that is "copyrighted" by the Arabs...

I bought a prirate video because it was not avaiable in my coutry in a format that I could play, I would send them the money that they earned but there is no way to do it.
In the old times, artists had to create for the very rich or the church, if they wanted to live of their creations. Now they can live of their creations without having to bend and sing praises to their rulers. Copyright is a good thing, it gives freedom of creation.
