How "laggy is this phone and how does it handle the update". I used to have a samsung Galaxy S and I hated it. Used to randomly lag, slow down and even crash, even though I wasn't multitasking and running nothing on the background. This device lacks RAM, does it affect the performance a lot? I'm considering either buying this or the ARC weighing the cost vs benefits.
@darktee I would suggest waiting until Android 4.0 comes out (which should be within the next few months if not by Thanksgiving). Only a few phones will have it at first, and phone companies *might* update their phones. If you need it immediately, than i suggest getting a phone with good RAM. If you can't get Android 4.0 gingerbread is still good. Oh and if you have a lot of apps, the RAM is spent quickly (but the OS should free it up when needed). WIth 10mb free, my x10 experiences some slight
@darktee (pt 2) lag but it's not severe. The OS (i have android 2.1) does a good job of stuwarding it. And i meant 30mb, sorry. I really like my phone, hope i didn't ramble too much. Happy shopping :)
@CJFRANKS7 No I need as much info as I can get. The problem with new phones is that they cost 400-500+. I dont really want to spend more than 200. New phones are coming out way too fast, making current phones outdated within half a year. It's ridiculous. I was looking at the x10, because it's one of the best looking phones out there and it should be cheap. the gingerbread update is a bonus.
@darktee The x10 works fine for me, and it only has like 256 ram. It's old already, but works just fine. As long as it works for you, just make sure you find what you need. After thinking about, i realized that all the 'bells and whistles' may not be essential. Just keep researching. Hope you find something that works for you :)
@CJFRANKS7 Well mainly I'm using it for web browsing, maps and watching videos. How good are those things for you? Sorry for the questions just, with being tight on money and all I want to make a good choice :)
@darktee It's okay lol. And well i haven't really used maps on my phone, sorry. The company im with is kind of slow, or at least it appears that way. But the browser experience seems fine. I use Opera Mini to not use up my data, and it works great. I thought id use the stock browser to see youtube vids (which i guess is the same as the youtube player), and well.. If you don't put it on high quality, then it looks like crap. I watched my own sun concure video in HQ, and it was a lot better
@darktee But that just might be YT and not the phone. Im going to download a documentary on my phone to see how it looks. The HD videos i shoot with it look look great when you play them on it
@CJFRANKS7 Yeah downloaded videos should look great since theres no download lag issues. The sony update comes with bravia for the x10 as well I think. Have you tried youtube in a reasonable resolution? Or video streaming sites?

X10 handles the update pretty well...Go for XPERIA ARC "value for money". It has got better hardware and good features.
