Any time I see the film Monster's Ball I am genuinely taken back at how much Halle Berry invested herself in that role. She was also excellent as Dorothy Dandridge. She battled Hollywood to get that latter film funded and ultimately released and accepted by that industry. She is a unique actress and has made unforgettable films.
I think she is correct but she is also sort of playing straight into the manufactured hollywood definition of what story is - just same happy ending, wrapped in a box with a nice bough on top story telling. The hllywood industrial complex aka mass production has way to much influence on what we see
