  • Supreme romantic song created by Shankar-Jaikishn, Lata Mangeshkar, picturised on Saira Banu, directed by Lekh Tandon. what a marvelous picturisation of the song. We have really forgot such compositions now a days. This song was from the film Jhuk Gaya Aasman, of 1967-68.

  • i like this song

  • Outstanding.

  • Thanks for upload! 1965-6!

  • ~ an atypical Shankar Jaiskishan composition.

~ Shailendra has written much better lyrics than these! None of the 'antaras' match the beautiful 'mukhda'

~ Lata has put a lot of sweet frustration in her singing! surprisingly, though she is singing for SJ, she is very pleasing to the ears!

~ let me conclude by saying 'thanks!' to Rajshri for presenting a song that is differnet and yet - or may be that's why! - so beautiful!

  • This is Hasrat's song a buddy to Shailendra, often would help each other without loosing their poetic integrity. Shailendra was Hindi, less Urdu while Hasrat was urdu. Shailendra was good at words of opposite meaning eg:(jagte Raho)Zindagi Khwab hai..Kwab mein 'sach hai kya aur 'jhoot' kya or(Anari)Sab kuch sikha hamne na sikhi 'hoshiyari' sach hai duniya walon ke hum hai 'anari'Hasrat uses that style or na 'parbat' na sagar'or doli le kar 'aajao' oos par jahan mera ghar hai oos par mujhe 'lejaao'

  • very interesting observation, Nonseriously!

but i am sorry to say that THIS song was written by Shailendra.

also, i wouldn't call Hasrat 'Urdu'.. more like 'Hindustani'... i am sorry, but i do not hold him in high esteem as far as lyricists go. i have always found his work mediocre at best.

i really appreciate you taking time to read me and respond.

  • I am also thought it was Shailendra, because the song was well conceived. it starts with the blossoming of a maiden, falling in love, then ready for marriage but this is Hasrat why...(1)this movie was made in 1968 and Shailendra had passed away in 1965. (2) I checked it on the internet that is Hasrat. (3)Hasrat himself was saying it in an interview as to how he and Shailendra use to collaborate. I agree Hasrat was not in the same league as Sahir or Kaifi but his romantic style was flamboyant.

  • Although I love the sweetness of this song (Tune,Lata of course,Lyrics the most)I did not say much on your critical views on the lyrics since each of us is different. The lyricists of yesteryears were all independent in their style. While the stars famous just by their lip sinking or looks but the poets never really got their due in recognition, we don't remember them at all, where as it was their creativity and music directors which kept memories of movies fresh even today. Lets give their due.

  • U r right abt Urdu Hindustani part.....but i am afraid u r wrong abt Shailendra's quality....he always used ordinary word to great effect which is always a hallamrk ofa great lyricist...I recommend u listen to his songs carefully once again...amy b u can change ur opinion.....I find shailendra one of the best..!

  • U must be talking about the other guy's opinion on Shaliendra. In my view Shailendra was very spiritual more in Sant Kabir's tradition. Each of his song has an ulterior objectivity which you can pick up only if you have spiritual bent of mind. You tell me song and I will show what is the true meaning.

  • Take any song written by him....it will have ordinary as well as deep meaning words....

  • it is good to see a nice discussion about my fav. lyricists without any arguments involving religion or country...

  • That is my memorable song with saira and rajendra
