WW2 japanese navy was modeled closely after the leading navy in the world at that time, the british navy. Right down to things like rank insignia.
Despite critical shortages of oil and other strategic war materials, the japanese navy fought well and most gloriously against the huge combined navies of the allied countries.
Thats because just like Germany, Japan based its military products on high quality instead of quantity, but thats the only problem, the allies my have had less quality war machines, but LOADS of them.
Still I don't like that tactic or attitude, because it tells that they did not value the soldiers that fought so hard allot. Normadie is the perfect example.
@MercenaryZack Aha.... Please read the history of Afghanistan before saying something THIS offensive towards Americans and Afghans and only shows how little you actually know about the world.
@MercenaryZack - except that their military thinking was too rigid - they ASSUMED that there would be a decisive battle rather than a drawn-out series of campaigns. In that they were very similar to the Germans i.e. they wanted a short decisive war. There were two problems with their strategy - first, they thought that they would win purely because they were Japanese. Second, they assumed that the US would oblige them by going along with their plan.
yup, but what fails most military are an immoral government starting unjust wars, overspending military, brainwashed citizens.etc, etc.

Very thing you said is so true, a pity really, this Afgahistan war is nothing more than about oil and weapons development.
New weapons are presented openly on the free tv, these weapons of course need to be tested first, best place is Afgahistan.
