I'm sorry but if the Hades is a 3 blade broadhead, why do you use the muzzy 4 blade? Does it mean it isn't better then the muzzy 3 blade? Compare it with the muzzy mx-3 or regular to give credibility to the test, otherwise people will think that's not a true test, like i'm thinking now...
@Intrepidoutdoors youve obviously never used a decent twoblade cut on contact bh then aussie hogs arent a problem with them or scrub bulls or buffalo either if u know how to sharpen them yourself last a hell of alot longer as well meaning less money for more kills
Well, I did not harvest feral hogs; but I did harvest a very exotic four horn sheep with my Hades broadhead ... despite what the naysayer before me had said. Complete pass through! It was a double lung shot that I have to admit took some time to draw the life away from my bovid. I don't have video, but I do have photos. The Hades is a very effective broadhead even with my set up of Martin Cheetah at 50lbs of draw weight. I did it!
I bought these not trusting mechanicals in the least. These fly like my field points. I'm afraid that these will cause some major damage to the feral hogs I will be hunting/harvesting soon.
Anyone else think its completely useless to "backsharpen"? WHat is this accomplishing? I know some one will say "it increases the wound channel volume when it comes out backwards" but personally if my arrow doesn't go right through then I want it to stay right where it is and keep the wound channel open as opposed to cutting its way back out. Thoughts? they don't address this anywhere in the video.
sometimes a broadhead gets stuck inside the body cavity ( like on a shoulder blade shot) I'm guessing the back cut causes more damage as the arrow moves around while the animal trys to run. The way I see it, it can't hurt to have a little extra cutting surface, even if its only needed on that 1 out of 100 kinda shot. You know?
the way i see it, if the back is sharpened too, then if the arrow stays in the animal then that is just another edge to cut and tear stuff up.... I LOVE THESE BROADHEADS... i have shot muzzys and crimson talons and many others and these are by far the best i have ever shot, tough as nails
I like the effects of this broadhead but I think that ANY blade can fail even with the best shot because that's just the way it goes with this sport. I shoot 125gr Slick Tricks out of my Tenpoint QX4 crossbow(I'm a paraplegic) and I shot 2 deer this year and lost BOTH. One was a lung shot, good frothy lung blood for a few hundred yards and then it stopped. The second one was a complete pass through and a liver shot, again, a few hundred yards and it just stopped bleeding. S**t happens.
Liver shots stop bleeding pretty quick, I have shot one deer in the liver, I knew it was a bad shot, but I watched it go about 200 yds into a field and drop. I still waited 2 hrs before I walked out to it, it only dropped blood the first 100 yds. When we dressed it out we noticed that both holes, entry and exit clotted up before it dropped. My buddy hit a nice 9 last year in the liver at about 9am, we went after it about 2pm and found it within 150 yds, once again blood trail only bout 100yds.
But if you look at total cut volume the muzzy 4 blade won. But I'm never going to shoot a fixed blade. I like knowing i can hit dead on out to 50+ yards. Thats why I shoot a Tekan and a razortip. But I personally sharpen them with a barber strop for even more hemmorage and penetration--and everyone should too cause most heads are given a bad rap for being dull cause they have to ship them that way even though some have hidden potential.
they also do not say what # the bow is. it could be a 80# bow with a 35 inch draw length with the fastest bow on the market. not downing the head at all, grim reaper is a great company, but you just dont know if its real. marketing hype

Here on the west coast, you can't use mechanical broadheads...it has nothing to do with bowhunters "refusing to use" them like the speaker says.

frothy lung blood means it was a single lunger and often you will lose deer to a single lung shot. thats why you should shoot hades or undertakers.
