I remember being overcome with emotion the first time I heard this story from President Hinckley. It happened again when I saw this video for the first time. It has been a couple of years since that first viewing, and those strong feelings have returned watching it this second time. What a great video and a great message. The gifts of charity, service, and love are priceless and eternal.

Awesome story. I'm not Mormon, but plan to share this with my kids in the morning. Of all the Christians I know, the Mormons seem to live their faith the best. Unfortunately, I can't get past the disconnect of the BOM w/ archaeological evidence.

I wish those who denounce this wonderful "Christian" religion could see this and be touched by it the way I have. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love president Hinckley and miss him dearly. I love what LDS people stand for. This is the only true church on the face of the whole earth. If only pastor Jeffriss could see this maybe he could feel what Latter Day Saints feel. What a beautiful true religion.
The funny thing is that this "good feeling" they get from doing a good deed at the end has nothing to do with a god or mormonism or religion. This is why I can have a great life as a non-theist. The poor man should have thanked the boys, not an invisible being in the sky.

Growing up as a youth, Gordon B. Hinckley was the kind, gentle voice i listened to and watched with awe. After watching this I shed some tears because I miss this kind and wise man. Everyone has been dealt a hand that has its ups and its downs, with the world as it is, so filled with war, anger and confusion, we should all try just a little more to look for those that need a few "silver dollars in their shoes"

Sadly there are humans that carry hard hearts and make hateful comments concerning this story told by a great Prophet who is not with us any longer. We all have free agency allowing us each to live one way or another. I once was hard hearted and delt with others in a harsh way. I was fortunate enough to live long enough to find the real way. That way is by living a life as close as I can that follows what Christ taught. Free agency is given to each of us. It is up to each of us to decide.
Actually it has EVERYTHING to do with the Mormon church. The church teaches lessons like these, like that you're not alone, and that someone really loves you, no matter who you are, what you do, what you beleive, or where you come from. Someone really cares, though it may not seem like it. He is always watching you, and he wants you to come home. (oh great, my keyboard is going to get wet) He is always watching out for you, and He knows what you need, he is just waiting for you to ask....

I may not be Mormon but this story warmed my heart so much. I believe that this is what all those who labour in the name of the Lord should do for one another. This is what love and compassion is.

As general conference is coming up I couldn't wait to hear the prophets of God speak to us, so I searched for Gordon B. Hinckley here on You Tube. I've heard this story a few years ago and can't help but love this story. I like how the boy's first intension was replaced with an even better one. Who knew that the farmer working in his field needed such help. This powerful story motivates me to try harder and maybe help a friend who is in such need. "Don't you have a good feeling?"

@MultiFagman I'm not a mormon personally but they are generally good people and there messages/video are very good and after looking past the lies and B.S. surrounding the LDS church and learning for one's self I'm sure anyone would like the church and generally it's members even if they disagreed with their beliefs...
People are people and theres good and bad along with crazy and sane everywhere but good people are good people and good messages are good messages so why spead hatred towards it

I love this message! It definitely touched my heart and is one of my favorite stories. Often God touches lives through other people and I hope I will always be the one who gives a silver dollar rather than play tricks.

I always feel the Spirit of the Lord in great abundance each time I watch this video. What a great story. I miss Pres. Hinckley and his humble testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our beloved Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley just knew how to touch our hearts and let us feel connected with God, our eternal Father, so that we want to be with Him again.

I myself wish I could help others, but unfortunately it seems I keep getting myself in the situation of needing help. Anyhow, this is truly a touching, inspiring message that we should all live by. President Hinckley always had such wonderful, inspired teachings & I sure do miss him., tho Pres Monson is another great Prophet inspired by God!

That warm feeling you get is the Spirit testifying to you of the truth to the story as well as the goodness of it. We need to go back in time, or bring the values of the past to ours. (thankfulness is needed more)(count your blessings... and it will surprise you what the Lord has done)

I love President Hinkley. I miss him so much. Everyone has their prophet they grew up with, and i am lucky to have had the combination of two AMAZING prophets, Hinkley and Monson. I love you pres. Hinkley, you have and will be missed.

As general conference is coming up I couldn't wait to hear the prophets of God speak to us, so I searched for Gordon B. Hinckley here on You Tube. I've heard this story a few years ago and can't help but love this story. I like how the boy's first intension was replaced with an even better one. Who knew that the farmer working in his field needed such help. This powerful story motivates me to try harder and maybe help a friend who is in such need. "Don't you have a good feeling?"

I am a member of the church but I havn't gobne for years as i no longer believe in God. But I alway will remember Gordon B. Hinckley as a great man. His stories and parables are an inspiration to all whether you believe or not.

Every time I see our sweet, departed Brother Hinckley, I miss him with such a profound sorrow. How glad he must be to be rejoined with his sweetheart on the other side after crying himself to sleep for years after her departure. President Hinkley, you were a wonderful father to all of us while you were here and we will never forget you or the greatness of your works. And give your beloved wife our love.
