For those of you who are confused, it's a show, not a band. It's not like they were trying to upstage TMBG or anything. It's not even a musical show, the only reason they have singing in the first place is probably because Kristin Chenowith and Ellen Greene are in the cast and they're both singers. I don't even think it was specifically made to be GOOD, it was just to add to the quirkiness and novelty of the show. It's understandable that you wouldn't enjoy it unless you were a fan of the show.

No, there is excessive, and then there is over excessive. One implies that there is an overuse of something, and the other implies that the overuse is being over used. I also am at a loss in seeing how my choice in phrasing a sentence relates to my sexual or romantic affinity towards a specific race. Unless you meant that part of your reply should be read as a sentence by itself in which case it would be meant as a derogatory insult detailing any possible mate I might choose.
Y'all need to chill. TMBG's is infinitely better, but this one isn't bad. It's more of a homage to the greatness of TMBG than a serious cover. It's prolly a reflection of the influence of TMBG on the quirkiness in the show.
