I wonder if my cable will work for this game. It's a standard 1/4'' to USB cable that I can use to plug into my PC to record, will it work with Rocksmith? If anyone could help me here I would appreciate it a lot! Thank you very much and rock on.
How do you unlock all the cabinets and the pedals? by just playing the game or can buy them? I'm new to the xbox, but ive benn playing guitar for over 15 years
Hey, how is the latency with this game? Is there much of a delay when doing a solo or something? I'm dying to try this game but I don't want to get my hopes up.
@barbequeblues there's a tiny bit of lag for me when I'm in Amp Mode, but I don't ever notice it while playing one of the songs in the game. They recommend you use the analog audio output to eliminate the lag, but I am using the optical digital audio output. It doesn't bother me enough to switch down, but you can. I'm, frankly, impressed at how well it works.
What I like about this game is the amps in this game and how real they sound! I also have this game, myself, and I just ordered another guitar to go along with the Epiphone Les Paul Jr that came with "Rocksmith" and it's the Gibson Melody Maker(ever played one of those?)as a Xmas gift! Is this a great best-selling game or what? Do you think it's much better than "Guitar Hero"(the one with a plastic guitar)?
@kjchicago1 I never played a Melody Maker, nope. I will never touch Guitar Hero or Rock Band or anything else that doesn't let me plug in my own guitar again. (Though I might still play the drum portions.. Though I haven't in a couple years).
@kjchicago1 I have guitar hero and I ordered this game too and I think that this is much better than guitar hero or rockband by the way I have a fender squier strat eletric guitar
@adolson If you get a chance, be sure to check out the Gibson Dark Fire or the Gibson Robot Guitar or the Gibson B. B. King Lucille or the Gibson ES-335 or any of the Gibson electric guitars and also the Epiphone Emperor Swingster on Gibson's website and Epiphone's website as well!
hey man great video i liked favorited and subed to you i wanted to know if for example i wanted to get a guns n roses sound going would that be easy do they got a tutorial in the begining showing all this and also if i dont want to play one of the songs can i still use my t.v as an amp?thanks so much.
@TheZombified316 I don't really know about dialing in a specific tone. Tone depends on your actual guitar and picking style, not just the effects and amps you use. You can load up the tone from the Slither track and tweak that, for example, so it could help you maybe get a starting point. If you play the songs you unlock the effects and tones, but you can also buy a DLC pack to unlock a bunch of the tones. But if all you want is tones+amp sims, buy a DigiTech RP355 pedal.
@TheZombified316 no, I didn't say that.. You can only use the songs included with the game or the songs Ubisoft releases as DLC. When you play a song well enough, you unlock the tone for that song, so what I was saying is if you play the Slither song well enough, you will get that tone and so you can load it in the Amp Mode and tweak it however you like.
@TheZombified316 sorry, Slither is the name of the song.. Band is Velvet Revolver. I'm not really a GNR fan, or a Slash fan (I respect him, but don't listen to him). I don't even know if the tone sounds like GNR at all. haha.
@TheZombified316 Yeah, that's what this video is showing you. You just hit Square from the main menu, I think (my memory is bad) and it goes to this Amp Mode where you can just mess around.
@depswall not sure what you mean.. The game comes with a USB-to-1/4" cable, so you can plug in pretty much anything. Sound would pass through, but I'm gonna assume that certain effects or distortions would mess up the pitch detection algorithms. Not to mention, it seems like that'd defeat the point of the software.
@adolson hey man great video i liked favorited and subed to you i wanted to know if for example i wanted to get a guns n roses sound going would that be easy do they got a tutorial in the begining showing all this and also if i dont want to play one of the songs can i still use my t.v as an amp?thanks so much.
they got to include a fx pedal for you to use while playing to get the full effect of something like a switch or processer board. that would be beast. i could switch effects in the middle of a song. id love that. what if you want to go from distortion to clean? not easy.
@jdizzle3600 well, you could just use one of your toes to push one of the buttons on the controller to switch between a distortion tone and a clean tone. It's not ideal, but it works.
@ExplosaoFinal I can't tell if you're serious or not.. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt - it's a piece of software for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and eventually the PC. It comes with a 1/4" to USB cable, and you plug your guitar into it and it listens to what you're playing and gives you a score. The notes scroll down the screen and you play them at the right time - like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, only with an actual guitar.
@frankixbox there are lots of pedals to unlock for amp mode. I haven't looked through all of them, but there's definitely things like that and chorus, wah, compressor, etc.
@TheMySideproject in my opinion, it is. It depends on what you are expecting, though. If you're a newbie, I think you could learn to play songs with it but it won't teach much theory. It does teach you how to hold the pick, tune, etc, but not composition. If you're looking for a party game, this really isn't it. It's less of a game and more of a tool that makes practicing fun. there are mini-games though. I canceled my BF3 pre-order for this (limited money, beta sucked) and I don't regret it.
@rileypoole1234 if that's the only reason you would buy it, then no. I'd recommend you get a DigiTech RP355 instead, though it'll cost more, it's better and you can use it in front of an amp, with headphones, etc. and that's what I use for my recordings.
@Macthillien yes, I do. So you're saying that what they did was took their decade of experience with Battlefield games, then made this new one play more like Call of Duty than Battlefield, and then when people say they don't like it, blame that on it being a beta? "It's a beta, we start out with Call of Duty, so it's not yet completely Battlefield! Trust us, the final release will be more Battlefieldy!" Yeah, that makes sense.
@adolson i agree. Theory is found naturally through who you are influenced by, who you admire as a composer. no amount of schooling can teach that. I sat in this mode for hours playing nirvana songs and even my own.
Also because of the learning curve, its nearly impossible to play with friends unless they are as good as you or vice versa.
@adolson i almost did the same thing, i really want this game, but im really enjoying battlefield 3 alot. but i figure rocksmith is in my near future,,lol
it looks like you have to unlock amps? hmm, that sucks. i was just hoping to jam on my own and learn what i can without playing the songs.

@TheUnsungArtist The Rocksmith cable has a special box inline that does the analog to digital conversion. I'm betting a different one won't work.

I love experimenting with sounds.
Try this: select your treble/high-end pick ups with your switch, grab a pick and tap repeatedly going down the high e near the pick-ups!
