  • Great to see Jeff Quinn and Julienne Irons again! She's the hottest Uhura ever!! Better then Zoe Saldana!! Also, nice to see the parallels between Kirk and Kargh.

  • I love these Phase II episodes; both the full-length ones and the vignettes. So much care and passion goes into making these. Kudos to Mr Cawley and the entire Phase II company; giving TOS Star Trek the fourth season it never had...

  • I love the dichotomy of the two commanders who beat their respective "no win scenarios".

    Well done!

  • Good to see Jeff Quinn back, albeit briefly, as Spock. I think he's the best of the three chosen for the role in the NV series.

  • QUINN!!! Wow its nice to see him! Hope things are going well for him.

  • This so COOL

  • These are really very nicely done.

  • I love the series, it has a very authentic Trek feel, but I've got to ask:

Kargh was going to use terrorist attacks against civilians to draw Starfleet away so that he could conquer a defenseless sector? Not only is he going to kill "millions" in the ultimate cowardly attack, but he's doing so to specifically avoid a fight?

That's the least honorable and least Klingon plan I can think of. That's beneath even the most treacherous of Romulan commanders.

  • @Telionis1 TOS Klingons were based on the Mongols, not like TNG, where they somehow became Space Vikings.

And the Mongols were.....very, very bad people.

  • "Not only is he going to kill "millions" in the ultimate cowardly attack, but he's doing so to specifically avoid a fight?

    "Victory is the highest honnor."

    Worf

    DS9

  • Nice work....enjoyable

  • If Kargh is the only person to survive the final exam.....

  • So kargh went through Chang's Elite command Academy as the player does in Klingon Academy

  • The actress stands up and leans over, teh camera firmly pointed at her ass... "Your flank is exposed!" I lol'd so hard... XD

  • @kalajel Me too. Glad I'm not alone.

  • I liked it. Sounds like this is going to be a good story when it's finished. James, cast and crew have given us another fine episode to watch.

I hope when all the vignettes are finished, they put them together into a full length episode.

  • Wow, I really liked some of the earlier first episodes but this IMO is just awful. I couldn't watch it, sad to say because some of them were terrific! (sigh)

  • @xetaprime this wasn't a full production episode its just a small thing.

  • @Tuskin38 I hear ya, but I thought, and I don't like saying this, the acting was just awful. The shots of Kirk and his reactions shots around the campfire were less than film school quality. Whether it's a vignette or a full length episode- it should still work. And I don't want to be harsh but I do want to be honest. I guess I just expected more :( Still love Trek though :)

  • @xetaprime P.S. I don't care a bit about special effects btw. It was all the other stuff. Not meaning to offend anyone. I've been a fan since the Original series aired.

  • Just thought of this. James has to do a speaking version of Rocket Man.

  • Klingon Empire's greatest strategist indeed. Nobody beats Kirk.

  • Excellent vignette.

Star Trek: New Voyages (Phase II) is very professional, and captures the look and feel of The Original Series spot on.

One thing about this vignette though. Just WHO carries a HUGE tribble around inside his cloak for such a use? Too funny!

  • @alexfuji86 : I have no idea, I just know she disappeared after episode 3. I didn't mean to suggest I'd ever met her, or had special knowledge, or anything. Just that I couldn't help having noticed her, that's all. Presumably she's fine. They seem to have a relatively rapid turnover in casting. But then ST:NV has been going on now for at least 5 years.

  • oooohhh. insult to injury! a tribble in the face.

  • Juliette Irons was so beautiful!

Oh, (-sighs-) did I used to fancy her!

She was one of the cast that was an aspiring actor. I hope she's okay.

ST New Voyages has been round long enough now, that it's nice and warming to see all their faces again.

Love the concept, and the Tribble touch.

  • @CBfrmcardiff What happened to her?

  • @alexfuji86 Julienne is alive and well and pursuing other endeavors.

  • "your flank is exposed." and a lovely flank it is! lol! great stuff! phase 2 just keeps getting better and better! you really capture the feel i had watching tos when i was a kid. please keep them coming, im sure you can tell by my youtube name, i love star trek!

  • I would like to coin a word for the fans who love the films so much that they dedicate themselves to the production of new films and with the use of their own acting skills = Fan + actors "FANTORS" or perhaps "FANATORS."

  • @michaelwcrosby That sounds like a villain on Space Ghost or the Herculoids.

  • good work. you guys have really come a long way in a short time period. i have a prediction that you will be making movies displayed in the theaters in the next few years. the vicarious thrill we get from watching you fan/actors produce your films is exhilarating (borrowing Khan's adjective from Search/Spock).

  • No disrespect to Abrams and cast, but I have to say that Cawley & co, for my money has a better feel for what original Star Trek was about than anybody else out there. Keep up the good work guys.

  • This was awesome to see. Thanks!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Great short!

  • Terrific stuff! And perfect to fill in until KITUMBA is ready!

  • Fantastic!! Been looking forward to seeing the rest of the Vignettes, and thanks for posting this one. Any possibility of seeing any others, than this one and Center Seat?

  • I'd like to see Julienne Irons back as Uhura.

  • I almost think Karg knew who he was speaking to at the end. cool video.

  • Simply awesome.

  • Excellent! Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • Thanks for the upload, Robert. I'd been wondering whatever happened to this.

  • Very happy to see this made public at last.

  • Nice! Glad you finally released this one!

  • now that is just mean

  • Well done!

  • Very cool!! very nice to see this vignette :)

  • awesome!!!

  • The torpedo FX is a little odd... almost like standard lens flares...
