  • Will be making this for Christmas! God bless Marguerite Patten, born in 1915, which makes her 96 years young this year (2011). All those recipes must be good for longevity! Forget the health foods and going to the gym - cook the Marguerite Patten way!!

  • I've never seen Marguerite Patten before, but I've still got her book 'Cookery in Colour' that a friend gave me about 35 years ago :-))

  • this is brilliant!! the one tht i just looked at took about 7 hours, and was 1/4 as big as this one!!!! fantastic! ;)

  • I made this for chrissy yesterday, and let me say, it's fantastic. Very easy to make, takes little time to put together, and really is done in 10 mins. I just substituted the apple juice for brandy, and added some cinnamon, and voila, a great pudding for xmas. Thanks for the upload.

  • Can anyone tell me how much a gram is in comparison to cooking measurements (AKA an ounce, cup, or tablespoon) Sorry I'm not British< I don't understand, but I want to try this :)

  • @alligatorgal

I live in the USA, and from experience let me tell you that you NEED a kitchen digital scale. Then you can follow the grams and things right along. It isn't that hard at all. At least she didn't say you need a "pint" of anything, because one little known fact is that an American pint is 16 oz, but a British pint in 20 oz. That's the only thing I can think of that would get you tripped up, otherwise grams are grams!

  • She's not dead!

  • who shes superwomen even i couldnt make christmas pudding that quick!

  • does this microwave thing acctually cook da pud?

  • That's a shit!!!

  • I'm doing it her way! By the way, if you can't eat it straight out the oven, you can always heat it up in a saucepan with custard!

  • aw shes dead now...but definatly an all time favorite cook, she will never be forgotton.

  • She's not dead!

  • sorry im wrong your right lol, i think i was thinking or fanny cradock or something..i realised as soon as i posted that comment.
